Tower's Richest Player: My Coins Won't Stop Increasing-Chapter 35: Ulterior motives
Chapter 35 - Ulterior motives
They didn't know how to approach the person this time.
Even though he had come from a different direction, they felt as if he had been following them all this time.
They had felt strange eyes on their back until now, but perhaps it was the effect of the tower. They were uncertain what to make of the situation.
They were exhausted and some of them were injured from the previous fights as well. They needed something to heal them, and a potion would be the best thing in this situation, but none of them had one.
They knew Chiika had give her out to a stranger, so none of them currently had any. And even if they did, it was not certain that they would give it out to anyone else.
They needed to do something about their situation or go home.
To exit the tower, one simply needed to use the system interface in safe places like the ones that they were in right now.
They cannot exit the tower if they were engaged in combat. There weren't many rules for exiting the tower in the lower floors, but they were well aware of the things that could earn if they went just a little further.
"How much?" They knew it was risky.
As soon as one of the teammates asked the question to the merchant, the rest of their hearts stalled for a moment.
They did not know what to think at that moment. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
Perhaps this was the right call. If the price is right, perhaps they could go in further and maybe, just maybe get something good up ahead.
There was something about the path ahead that gave all of them a good feeling. It was a strange feeling but seeing how the path ahead was widening, it seemed like they were reaching some different place.
Chiika knew it wasn't the center area where she was wanted to go. She could see and sense the Mana but even she wasn't an expert in this maze.
She was simply following the Mana traces until now and the path ahead of them did not really have any traces so, perhaps there was something that would grant them a boon.
They didn't know for certain though, so this would have been a pure gamble.
Still...
"Oh~. It will be 600 Coins per item this time~."
Human greed knew no bounds.
Being one the of the Seven Deadly Sins, within the tower, even while falling under a cardinal Law, these sins were an obvious nature of all beings.
"That's!"
"We can do that, right?"
"600... I have 700 right now so... I guess..." the other party members simply considered the purchase while Chiika looked at them with horrified eyes.
They should not be doing that.
Since they were all done for the day, they should just go out of the dungeon and move on with their lives and loot.
She needed to go back home as well so... this didn't seem all that good to her.
"Guys. I guess we shouldn't be-." She wanted to warn them and get them away from this shady merchant.
She didn't know why but she felt as if this person had ulterior motives. Probably, he wasn't up to any good.
"Step out of the way, girl." But her party leader wasn't going to hear her out.
"Give me one."
Not only did he push her away, he also went ahead and purchased a potion.
Then, he also purchased a boost potion and drank both of them.
"We will be going ahead." He then announced to the party members, not considering what they wanted in the slightest.
"But captain!"
"If you don't want to, then just stay behind. Or go back on your own." The party leader didn't need her anymore.
They were going to go ahead just a little, check the area, fight anything that might be there, and get out as well.
They needed to push just a little. They knew the risk was big but the rewards might be even bigger.
"You should ask the others! That's not how it works-." Chiika wanted to protest, but since their party leader had announced it already, the rest of the members also gave up the last bit of their money to buy at least one of the potions.
Some chose to recover first, while some chose to get a boost for the following area.
"Guys..." Chiika wanted to scream at them and drag them all away, however, all of it was useless.
"You..." She looked at the merchant with resentful eyes.
Once was enough. There was no need to sell them all these things the second time.
"Would you be buying one as well, Miss~?" But she couldn't say anything to his face.
Even if they tried, she knew they wouldn't win against him. Besides, he had ultimately helped them with his potions.
"Let's move forward." He was strange. She didn't know what was going on here or what he wanted from them, but there was something very wrong with this situation and this person.
Additionally...
"Oh... no..."
Their decision to move in this direction was wrong as well.
"Get... get away!"
"Captain!"
"Get out of here! Quick!"
When they walked forward, the place they had ended up in was an open area filled with an entire pack of beast monsters.
"Awooooooooo!" they resembled wolfs but they were far bigger and stronger looking than the wolfs that they would see in documentaries.
They were monsters... and they knew about all of them.
"Captain! Captain!"
The wolfs moved so quickly that they instantly caught the ones in the front.
"Aghhhh!" some of them were captured.
One of the party members whose foot was caught in the jaws of the monsters was swung by those beasts like a flail.
Their captain, the strongest one who had taken two potions, also almost fell to these beasts.
They knew there was no going back from this point on...
The one who had been swung around had lost a leg and was on the verge of death, blood was splattered everywhere, now that they were looking closely, the entire area was also filled with human skeletons...
"Kyaaaaaaaa!"
The horrible scene made the young girl scream.
With the wolf glaring at her, a smirk present on them, she knew she was about to die as well...
"Oh dear customers."
But, perhaps, today wasn't the last day for her.
"It seems I forgot to collect the taxes."
Perhaps, they will get to live.
