Tower: Rebirth of the Absolute Demon-Chapter 75: Ch : To hell with mana
Chapter 75: Ch 75: To hell with mana
"So that’s what the Fate has decided, huh?"
Ye Tian’s eyes slowly opened up, revealing his crimson eyes and elongated irises while black aura particles started to leak out through the crevice of his eyes.
Even though his eyes were naturally crimson and Demonic—Representing his Demonic nature and qi; something felt a bit off.
Almost instantly, his crimson eyes started to grow darker. As if they were getting plagued by darkness, his eyes soon turned completely black.
"To die at the hands of someone who once killed himself to save me, guess I’m on the bad side of fate." Ye Tian mumbled to himself as a smile crept onto his face.
He raised his right hand and glided it through his hair. With just a touch of his hands, his dark, long hair seemed to have awakened some kind of symphony.
His touch sent waves of radiant white light cascading through his hair as if awakening a silent melody.
Ye Tian lifted his gaze, looking at the wide crack that had appeared on the castle walls from Ye Zhao’s Sword strike.
’I’m sorry...’ Words Flowed into Ye Tian’s mind, almost as if it were his own. ’I couldn’t protect you... again’ He recognised these words, it was Ye Zhao’s thoughts that were flooding his mind through the bridge of soul contract.
Ye Tian slowly stood up and moved forward only to notice that his movements had become sluggish.
Even to move just his hand, his whole body would lose its balance. A devious grin crawled onto his lips as a giggle escaped his throat.
The small giggle twisted into a burst of laughter in no time, getting louder and louder—resounding throughout the empty walls of the ruined castle.

Outside the castle...
108 gods stood surrounding the edges of the island, forming an inescapable net to kill the mortal who had dared to defy their orders and approach the realm of gods.
All of them excluded divine aura that far exceeded the capabilities of what the world itself could handle. Their eyes were fixated towards the centre of the island, looking at the view that they were all desperately waiting for.
Ye Zhao’s tensed-up muscles slowly slackened as his existence started to fade away.
His hopes of survival had long since faded away. His gaze fell onto the tip of the blade that pierced through his chest from behind; sensing that mana was leaving his vessel, he couldn’t help but accept the inevitable.
Ye Zhao’s eyelids struggled not to fall, hoping some miracle would happen in the last moments of his life, but the fate had already been decided and couldn’t be reckoned with.
He had finally given in to his fate, but just moments before he could truly meet his demise, his ears twitched slightly, almost as if they heard something that they’d been waiting for.
At first, he thought that it was too sweet of a dream, but he kept hearing the same thing over and over again.
Realising that it wasn’t simply a dream, his eyes burnt with confidence once again. Ye Zhao raised his eyes, looking at the assembly of gods that continuously mocked and laughed at him for being so weak, he couldn’t help but give in to his instincts.
A grin slithered across his face as he let out a barely audible chuckle. Meanwhile, the God of Shadows—the one who stabbed Ye Zhao—stood behind him, holding onto the sword that pierced through Ye Zhao with his right hand.
He was relaxed and felt proud that he had killed the who was or at least had the potential to become an equally powerful threat to the gods.
His grip on the sword had loosened with time as he noticed that Ye Zhao had finally given in to his death. Just as he was about to let go of his hand and proceed towards his next target—Ye Tian—he paused abruptly.
Ye Zhao’s lifeless body had once again begun to send vibrations through the sword. The vibrations kept strengthening up, getting more and more advent with every passing moment.
The god of shadows neither had a physical body nor a face, but the fear... The fear that something uncanny might happen was quite visible.
His instincts, his mind and even his soul were all screaming that something bad was about to happen. Just as he was contemplating what to do, his ears caught on to the slight sounds that Ye Zhao was making.
’He... He’s laughing?’ He abruptly thought, his senses peaked yet found nothing. At this point, his survival instincts were screaming their lungs out, making even a god like him feel fear. His astral body unconsciously started to flicker as if telling him to... **Run away!**
He released his grip from the sword as he worriedly looked towards the other gods.
"E-Everyone!!" He desperately stammered, trying to warn everyone that something was not right.
But not even a single soul was paying attention to him, for they were busy celebrating their victory ahead of time.
The god of shadows looked extremely troubled... Troubled with his thoughts... Confused... freewёbnoνel.com
"E-Everyo—" He tried to warn them once again but stopped amid.
"N...No..." His voice wavered as his eyes noticed something that crushed his hopes of survival in an instant.
In front of his eyes, he saw that the entire battlefield was covered in molecule-sized black energy. The energy in itself wasn’t naked to normal eyes, but he could see the shadows cast by this energy.
Just by looking at it, he could sense that this energy was much dense and completely different from the divine mana itself.
"Th-that’s not mana!? What kind of energy is that!" Just glancing at such dense energy gave him the fear that was equivalent to death, he couldn’t dare even imagine what it’d look like once activated.
"I... I d-don’t wanna... Die..." He babbled desperately, his astral body flickering as if a candle’s flame was struggling to keep burning in the relentless wind.
Realising that his life was in grave danger, his body had already decided to flee on its own. He unconsciously took steps back, his mind getting barraged with all kinds of thoughts.
As he kept stepping back, he soon came across Ye Zhao, who still clung to life like a leech. Drowned in his own thoughts, he soon came to his own senses as he heard Ye Zhao’s voice again.
"You... Took your damn time... Huh... Bastard?" Ye Zhao’s voice cracked, wavering with the lack of strength in his body.
The god of shadows, confused by this statement, turned his head and looked at Ye Zhao only to realise that his eyes were locked on the wide gap that was created by his own sword strike on the walls of the castle.
*Step*
God of shadow’s eyes widened as the sudden sound of someone coming forward reverberated throughout the battlefield, startling and even attracting the attention of other gods and goddesses.
The battlefield had fallen silent, except for the sound of steps that resounded throughout the island as if it were the trumpets that were welcoming the presence of the king.
The god of shadow’s mind fell into turmoil while only one thought remained advent... But his body refused to move even an inch almost as if it had been petrified under the fear of getting obliterated.
’Run Away... Run away... Run away...’ he kept thinking and screaming in his head until, at last, his body gave in to his control.
With every ounce of power he had, the god of shadows launched himself towards the edge of the island.
His divine aura acted instantly—activating his divine authority over shadows—his astral body, which once looked like a nebula, now looked as if it carried the very essence of shadows.
As he moved through the air, every movement of his left behind a trail of ribbon-like shadows clung to him as if they were a part of his body.
His eyes—widened and diluted with fear, only had one mission. To escape the island. He extended his hands forward in hopes of getting out alive.
Gods stood confused, questioning the god of shadow’s sudden actions. Some called him towards, some stayed arrogant while some gave importance to his actions as they heightened their senses as a precaution.
Close to his destination, his eyes sparkled up as a new ember of hope burned inside his heart. His freedom... Was just a few meters away...
*Squelch*
Out of nowhere, a giant black dragon whose head alone was comparable to the size of the island manifested above the god of shadows. Right before he could achieve his freedom, the Dragon opened his jaws slightly and squashed him in between his razor-sharp teeth in a matter of milliseconds.
The gods that were acting as if nothing had happened a few moments ago were shocked to the point that their souls trembled at the sight of his cerulean eyes.
As the dragon raised its head, its gigantic body—covered in black scales embodying the night and darkness in itself—coiled around the clouds and became visible through the shadows cast by the setting sun.
The gods couldn’t help but think of retreating for they had never seen a beast such powerful. All of their eyes and attention were fixated towards the dragon, forgetting about a rather more concerning matter.
After a few moments of silence, the so-called unknown beast in their eyes stood still, looking at them like a lion was looking at a bunch of bunnies to choose its next meal.
But all of a sudden as the dragon moved again, they all activated divina mana, churning up their respective divine authorities to flee.
But the dragon didn’t find that very prey-like behaviour, thus roared in the sky to show it’s dominance.
It’s roar sent shockwaves throughout the entire world and even the space got churned up, while the so called gods, their divine authorities crumbled away instantly.
Their bodies, let it be astral, Demonic or Divines, all three of them bled, as their divine mana in itself begun to naturally disperse away, which in simpler words, meant a slow and painful yet a guaranteed death.
The high and mighty gods, fell to the ground, groaning in pain, their eyes locked on the dragon, cursing the beast with all their might.
But to their surprise, the dragon closed its eyes slowly and seemed to bow to the castle... Or at least towards the castle...
The gods found this behaviour strange. For such a powerful beast to bow towards someone, it just didn’t make any sense.
In their desperate attempts to satisfy their own curiousness, the gods only made their own conditions worse. 24 gods of the gods had vanished completely while the other 84 gods managed to stick onto their dear lives.
They raised their gaze, trying to look as to what kind of a god could’ve tamed such a beast, only to see someone walking towards them casually with his right hand raised slightly, waving towards them.
"Moshi Moshi, mina-san~"
