Top Gamer Reincarnated as an Archmage-Chapter 67: A Realm
"Oh," Klaus just stared at him, mouth agape, not even knowing what to say, then he let out an awkward cough and cleared his throat, "I am searching for you then...I guess—"
"I KNEW IT!" he instantly jumped up from the ground, going as high as one of the trees next to them.
’God damn it,’ he covered his face as the man landed in front of him with a ginormous laugh.
"I knew the humans would need me again! The king of magic shall return—"
"No, we don’t."
"Huh," As soon as Klaus cut him off, he nearly lost balance, barely catching himself on a nearby branch due to his height.
"We don’t need your help, I guess...only I do?" Klaus didn’t even know how to phrase it now.
"I don’t even know where to begin," he dropped down to the ground and Orined did the same; he still towered over him despite both of them being seated.
Klaus explained everything to him, about the so-called vision he had, and how a talking fat cat told him to visit the temple, where he met a blindfolded prophet who had led him to a house and he ended up here.
"I see..." Orined caressed his chin whilst contemplating some things, which Klaus didn’t exactly appreciate.
"So can you help me finish it?"
"Finish what?"
"..."
Klaus facepalmed then leaned over onto the ground, wanting to slam his head face first into the lake in front of them.
"Haha!" Orined laughed out loud then patted him on the shoulder, "I will help you become stronger, kid."
"For real?"
"For real, for real!" He pointed at his chest, which he puffed out again for the dramatic effect, "I am Orined the great! With my teaching, you will become way stronger!"
’....he seems like some maniac off his meds,’ however, he couldn’t really do anything, so he just sighed and accepted his fate.
—
Orined led him away to a part with fewer trees surrounding them, the wind barely picking at his clothes now due to the covering of the trees still.
"So let’s begin."
’Begin what exactly?’
Orined took a seat on the ground and pointed in front of himself, "Sit down."
’Is he going to teach me a fancy spell?’ Klaus’s eyes lit up as he instantly nodded and did as he was told. He placed his witch hat next to himself; however, what came next wasn’t exactly what he expected.
"I am going to teach you how to utilise raw mana."
’Wait, what the fuck did he just say?’ Before he could even comprehend it, Orined pressed his palm against the back of his skull, and knowledge seemed to be channeled into his brain. His eyes shut close instantly as he tried to process things.
Knowledge he never knew existed, things he didn’t know about, ways of mana he had never even thought to use. Memories of Orined learning each way flashed through in front of him, like he was a spectator in someone’s memories, without being able to intervene or say anything.
It was like a child watching a movie in a theatre and having to stay quiet throughout the entire thing.
His eyes finally flushed open. Orined wasn’t behind him anymore; rather, he was eating a fish in front of him.
"What are you—" His stomach started churning as his entire body was aching. He looked down at his body and it was covered in dirt. His entire body was pale. His hair, which previously reached his neck, was now all the way down to his stomach, slightly even covering his vision.
His body, which was in decent shape previously, looked like a person who had been tortured and starved for weeks now. His entire body burned on fire; however, he felt more powerful.
"I thought you would never wake up!" Orined let out a chuckle as he put another piece of the juicy white fish meat in his mouth, chewing on it so loudly it probably resounded in the entire forest, with his mouth open, of course.
"How much time?" Klaus tried to stand, but his body was burning up.
"Hm?" Orined chewed down another fish, not even paying attention to him.
"How much time has passed?" He finally managed to push himself up from the ground. His knees nearly buckled inwards, but he managed to stand.
"Around six months, or a year, or even three years, it’s hard to tell when you are in an endless—"
"Did you just say three years?" Klaus’s lips twitched as he didn’t even know how to react, how could he even react, to him it felt like minutes passed by yet years could have passed whilst he watched the memories?
"Don’t worry, kid, time passes by differently on the outside...I think one month here is equal to three days outside!"
Oriden chuckled out loud like that would help Klaus, which it did, a tiny bit only.
"So...if I’ve been here for three years, thirty-six months, then one hundred and eight days passed on the outside..?" A bead of sweat rolled down his forehead as his clothes were starting to slip off slightly due to him growing skinny.
He picked up his hat and placed it on his head again, expecting something to happen yet nothing did.
"Yeah, your calculations are correct! So only around three months passed on the outside world."
"Let’s clear some things up..." Klaus aligned his hat and started walking in circles whilst trying to figure some things out.
"Where exactly are we? What, is this a different dimension—"
"We are in my realm." Oriden interrupted him then finished his final piece of the fish, "You look like you will collapse any second." He grabbed another fish out of his robe and threw it at Klaus, "You should eat before you die of hunger!" He said whilst chuckling like it was the funniest thing in the world.
Klaus caught the fish but didn’t even know how to react.
’His realm? What even is a realm..’ He sat down again, which his legs nearly started thanking him for just from the pure pressure of walking a couple of steps.
"What is a realm exactly?" He asked as he took a gigantic bite out of the fish.
