Chapter 65: The Prophet

’Fuck man,’ he pushed himself up, his hands and feet sinking into the water.

"I’m soaked..." He looked down at his clothes; they were dirty, wet, everything at this point.

’Mirror movement,’ he started moving again.

As he moved around the forest, hours passed by, without him even finding a single clue.

The sun started going down, and he was still moving around; however, he didn’t find anything.

’Damn it,’ he took a seat on a broken tree to calm his breathing; he was running out of time, and he didn’t even know what to do anymore.

’I have to keep moving,’ he dashed around again as darkness took over the jungle; he could barely see anything.

"I’m fucked—" He wanted to give up, but he bumped into a gigantic stone wall, nearly mashing his head and breaking his body as he directly hit it head-on.

He fell into the water again, a red scratch appearing on his forehead from the impact.

"Aow," he scratched it then looked up, nearly forgetting what had happened.

"I made it..." The stone was covered in moss and dirt; however, it definitely was something.

’This has to be it,’ he started walking around the wall searching for an entrance.

"Where is it—"

"Bingo," he found a wide-open stone gate; inside torches were lit on stands as a temple stood in front of him; it wasn’t towering into the sky, but it was still huge. Way bigger than the dormitories in the academy.

He walked past the torches; the flames seemed to come alive as if they were dancing when he walked past them.

A wooden door was closed in front of him, the entrance to the temple.

"What if I die?" He was nervous as he touched the wood, hesitating to push it open. However, it was either that or death.

"Fuck it," he pushed it open, and stone pieces fell to the ground; it shrieked through the entire jungle as dust clouds started flying up from the sheer weight of the door.

"Holy, it’s fucking heavy," he needed to push with all his might just to even open the door.

"You have come," a feminine voice spoke up from inside before he even entered. He was still standing in the doorway, trying to sneak a peek inside; however, it was darkness.

’Creepy as hell,’ a shiver ran down his spine as he took a deep breath and then walked in.

The door shut close behind him instantly, contrary to the force he needed to open it.

’Fuck,’ he couldn’t see anything, pure darkness.

"I have been waiting for you," the feminine voice spoke up again as Klaus heard something moving around on the ground.

’What the fuck?’ It was like snakes were slithering away on the ground, then torches started lighting up one by one next to him.

Slowly lighting up his vision, making him able to see the snakes which were actually slithering towards him.

"Woah—"

He was about to freak out when the voice spoke up again, "they won’t hurt you."

’They don’t seem calm..’ His hands and knees shook as snakes were now surrounding him from every possible angle.

The room in front of him was halfway done in shining up; he could make out some art and drawings on the walls, and the same thing on the spirals which finally became visible to him.

Then the final torches lit up on the far end, and he could finally see the owner behind the voice.

It was a blonde lady sitting in a wooden rocking chair; her eyes were covered with a cloth; however, she seemed to be wearing something like a marriage dress.

’What the hell?’ Klaus was about to step closer; however, the snakes wouldn’t budge from in front of him.

"The gods have told me you would arrive," she stood up from the rocking chair and started walking towards him, almost like she could see him.

"Admirable, I didn’t think the chosen one would be so young." She moved her head up and down like she was analysing him.

However, that wasn’t what bothered Klaus, "The chosen one?" He had no clue what she was talking about; why was he chosen? And by whom was he chosen?

"Yes, you are the chosen one, Klaus."

’!!!’ Surprise was evident on his face as his eyes shook, ’how does he know my name?’

"I know everything about you," the snakes parted as she kept walking towards him. She was getting taller and taller as she approached. Already towering over him.

"Your birth," she took slow steps, and the snakes moved like she was their god.

"Your road here, your abilities, your powers..."

"Even your past life."

"What?" The colour from his face drained completely as he was too stunned to even speak.

’How does she know?’ There was no way to know, unless...

"Are you a god?"

She turned her head slightly and then smiled like it was a mother looking at her child.

"No, not even close," she let out a chuckle and then quickly covered her mouth like she had done something wrong. "I am a prophet, come." She reached out towards him and all the snakes seemed to move around the room, returning to their original positions; however, they kept watching.

’Fuck it,’ he grabbed her hand and then the entire temple vanished, and they were in a white space again, just like back when he was talking to the fat cat.

"You don’t seem surprised, that is good," she kept smiling as her hand tightened and she started leading him into the whiteness.

"Where are we going?" She didn’t turn towards him even after hearing his question. She didn’t say anything; she just kept leading him into what seemed like nothingness.

Then the whiteness started crumbling down, as it was getting overtaken by a field. Grass started brushing against his feet as water was still dripping from his clothes.

Then out of nowhere, a house started being built in front of them. His eyes instantly widened.

It was small, yet for some reason, it felt familiar, as if he had been there before.
