Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!-Chapter 662: No Good Outcome for Offending Sister-in-Law
Mason shot him a cold glare.
Grayson Quinn felt like a winter wind swept right through him, making him shiver all over.
He couldn't help it and asked in a low voice, "You guys... got back together?"
"I believe your eyes still work just fine," Mason said coldly.
Grayson swallowed. Yeah, his eyes worked, but how could he admit that at a time like this? Wouldn't that be like indirectly admitting he'd just seen them?
If Mason snapped, he'd really end up dead meat!
"So, do I still have to call that little brat 'sis-in-law' from now on? Just thinking about what she did to you before, I really can't get the words out. Plus, she's younger than me—calling a little punk like her 'sis-in-law'? That's way too embarrassing."
"Grayson..." Mason cut him off, his thin lips curving into a faint smile.
Grayson's scalp tingled instantly.
Whenever Mason smiled like that, it meant someone was about to have a very bad day.
And right now, he was the only one in the room...
"Uh, Mason, I just remembered Junia needed me for something, so I'll just..."
"Attention!" Mason barked.
Grayson snapped to attention, arms stiff at his sides, face taut, and a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead.
Crap, missed my chance to run.
The corners of Mason's lips lifted a little higher, his smile gentler than anyone's. "The Quinn Family in Capital City is about to throw a big event, and they need to borrow a few people from our unit. Since you think the hotel food's so bad, you can handle this. Also, while you're at it, ship a batch of arms back to Capital City."
"Mason..." Grayson's smile looked more painful than crying.
Transporting arms was the kind of dirty work even the rookies hated, not to mention going back to the Quinn Family.
"Mason, you know if I go back there, I might never make it out. I seriously didn't see what sis-in-law was wearing just now."
The grin on Mason's face got even wider, the amusement reaching his eyes now.
"Mason..." Grayson shivered.
Mason smiled and said, "Old Mr. Quinn misses you a lot, you know. The old man's getting on in years; as the younger generation, you should keep him company. This time, don't come back unless you've stayed at least a month. And I heard the Miss Chang he set you up with is really pretty, from a great family too, the apple of General Chang's eye. You two should have a good talk—His Excellency the President is personally invested in your marriage prospects."
Grayson looked like he was about to cry.
Is it too late to make a run for it?
"Fail the mission and you're out of the unit," Mason added eerily.

Aurelia Shaw walked down from upstairs and didn't see Grayson in the living room. She glanced toward the dining room—still no sign of him.
"Where's Grayson?" she asked Mason, puzzled.
"He left," Mason said, taking a sip of milk.
That fast?
Didn't he come to eat? He left without even touching the food?
Aurelia couldn't be bothered to think about it. As they ate, she said to Mason, "I'm starting work this afternoon."
Mason frowned, "Stardust is about to enter promotion, already?" How come he hadn't heard anything?
"Nope." Aurelia shook her head. "I took a new role. I'm joining a crew this afternoon."
Mason's face darkened a bit. "How long will it last?"
"A few months, probably."
So he'd be going a few months without seeing her? "Come home at night," he said.
But Aurelia replied, "It's not in Q City."
Mason's face got even darker. Not only wouldn't he see her for a few months, but they wouldn't even be in the same city.
Great. First day back together and they're already doing long distance.
"When you're done, I'll send a helicopter to bring you straight home."
