Aurelia Shaw's body was limp, but her fingers suddenly increased in strength, pulling his head up and glaring at him.

"Mason, are you a dog or something?"

Mason Nightshade stared at the marks he'd left on her waist and smiled with satisfaction.

He looked up at her, "Yeah, like a dog, leaving my mark."

Aurelia sneered coldly, raising an eyebrow in jest, "A dog leaving marks isn't that just being clingy?"

Mason raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure you want me to leave a mark in that way?"

Aurelia's eyes sparkled with mischief, her gaze full of challenge.

Without another word, Mason started undoing his belt, pausing halfway through to look at Aurelia with a feigned innocence.

"Mason, there's something I'm really curious about."

"What?"

"Where exactly is your weakness?" Can you act like a normal person? You are supposed to be a stoic CEO, a dignified Major General.

"You." Mason looked at her and said.

"Besides me."

"There's nothing else." Mason didn't even hesitate.

Aurelia was puzzled, how on earth did Eleanor Spencer manage to seduce him in their past life?

Mason held her, "Don't move,

"Why don't you admit your self-control is lacking?" Aurelia retorted.

"My self-control has always been excellent, it just fails completely when it comes to you." Mason said softly, "The comments about you online aren't wrong after all."

"You've read reports about me? What did they say?" Aurelia had no doubt they weren't flattering; she had a knack for attracting criticism. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

She just heard Mason say, "They say you're a vixen."

A vixen... Somehow, words meant as insults turned into compliments in Mason's mouth?

Mason kissed her forehead lightly, "You've had a long day. Sleep now, I'll hold you while you sleep."

Aurelia didn't fuss over whether he held her or not; after an exhausting day, she indeed felt sleepy and quickly dozed off.

The next day.

Aurelia woke up to find Mason gone, but the tent showed signs of having been tidied. She got up, changed her clothes, and was about to step out to wash her face when Mason came in.

He was carrying two cups of instant noodles, and seeing she was awake, he bent down and neatly set her shoes in place.

"Let's make do with this for breakfast," Mason said.

Aurelia noticed his pocket was bulging, and upon closer inspection, saw two half-exposed sausages.

She asked curiously, "Are these sausages given to everyone, or did you stash them yourself?"

Why did he always sneak things in like this?

Mason gave her a sidelong glance, "Don't worry, no stealing involved, everyone here has them, evenly distributed. The conditions are tough; it's about making do, alright?"

He knew Aurelia was picky and wouldn't eat just anything. She must have skipped lunch yesterday because the rations here were too hard to stomach.

"Am I really that finicky?" Aurelia retorted.

"You're not finicky?" Mason raised an eyebrow.

Aurelia fell silent; she was indeed particular about certain things, but she only fussed over herself, never burdening others with it.

Aurelia picked up the fork to eat the instant noodles, and Mason noticed her palm was reddish, frowning as he took her wrist and opened her hand.

All her fingers had blistered palms.

"Did you get these working yesterday?" She had been pampered her whole life, never doing such hard work before?
