Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!-Chapter 612: Balthazar Shaw and Mason Nightshade’s Secret?
"No!" Balthazar's voice suddenly rang out, interrupting Aurelia's thoughts. She looked at him.
Balthazar realized he was a bit out of line, took a deep breath to calm down, and his voice returned to normal as he spoke again, "Young Master Mason, I wonder what you want to discuss with Aurelia?" he asked with a smile.
"Things in the entertainment industry. I'd like to ask if she has any plans for her next movie. I have some good scripts here and wonder if she's interested in taking them," Mason Nightshade lowered his gaze a bit and said calmly.
Balthazar never interfered with Aurelia's career affairs; he smiled and said, "Could we change the day? We haven't seen each other for several days, you could also be considerate of me as a father missing his daughter."
"Young Master Mason, you're still young and don't know what it's like to be a father. All daughters are their father's little princess, cherished in their hands. Seeing my daughter work so hard in her career makes me proud, but not seeing her for so long makes me miss her."
Mason's expression changed, his gaze dropped, and his fingers suddenly clenched tightly, emitting a chillingly cold aura. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Balthazar was stunned. What did he say wrong? Why did Mason's demeanor turn fierce and full of hostility?
Mason took a deep breath, lifted his gaze again, his eyes returned to clarity, but looking at Balthazar, there was a cold sense of alienation in his eyes.
"If that's the case, then..." he said.
"Let's go out and talk," Aurelia interrupted him.
Mason looked at her somewhat surprised, and when their eyes met, he nodded, "Alright, I'll take my leave then."
Mason went out first, Aurelia following behind him, and as the door closed, they walked a certain distance.
Aurelia spoke first, "There's no new movie to discuss, right?"
"There is." Mason's voice was clear and calm, with a hint of strange restraint, "If you want to take it, we can discuss the contract right now."
Aurelia let out a light laugh, looking at him, "Mason Nightshade, there's no need for us to maintain any more contact."
She stopped abruptly in the middle of her sentence.
Aurelia was momentarily stunned as she looked into Mason's intensely deep black eyes.
She had never seen this expression before.
His black pupils held a strong fervor, a powerful restraint holding back the eruption of this fervor, revealing a dark pain and mourning, deep within his pupils hiding a whirlpool of struggle, pain and impulse raging fiercely, yet his reason suppressed it all.
Aurelia quickly lowered her gaze, avoiding his eyes, her mind shifting away from the previous topic:
"Let's go back to the ward," she said calmly.
"Alright," Mason replied, but watching her back, the struggle of pain was still evident in his eyes... the child, he almost became a father once, they almost had a child.
Aurelia stayed in the hospital for another half month. It was quiet during this time, no reporters bothered her, and online matters were dealt with, but Mason Nightshade stayed with her throughout this period, sharing meals and sleeping alongside her.
Her health improved, but she noticed Mason's physical condition seemed to deteriorate, with dark circles under his eyes and visible fatigue and drowsiness on his face, yet he appeared energetic without any signs of tiredness.
However, she thought over it and figured it made sense, being so busy with work every day, handling so many things, naturally it's tiring, Mason seemed to treat himself as a work machine.
"Mason, my discharge papers are ready." Aurelia came out of the restroom, about to remove the shirt she just changed into.
