Tokyo: My Superpower Refreshes Every Week-Chapter 795 - 791: Monday’s Aozawa (Part 2)
After a pause, he added, "Nothing much happened. She quickly put away her Noble Phantasm."
"Oh, what a coincidence."
Emily deliberately stretched her tone.
From this description, it sounded less like a problem with the Noble Phantasm and more like someone was fooling around.
Emily wasn't blind.
For the sake of Arakawa Reina's pink strapless, form-fitting skirt, saying it was a casual shopping trip wasn't believable.
That feature was blindingly prominent.
Morimoto Chiyoda abruptly hit the brakes.
"Ouch."
Emily, not wearing a seatbelt, bumped her head against the seat in front, rubbing her forehead. "Morimoto, what are you doing?"
"Sorry, a dog suddenly dashed out. It's really annoying how often you see a dog barking randomly in Tokyo."
Morimoto Chiyoda made a backhanded remark, then continued driving home.
Emily rubbed her forehead, a hint of suspicion flashing in her blue eyes. Was she being subtly called a lonely single person?
She thought for a moment, dropped the previous topic, and instead asked Aozawa about academic matters, like his exam scores and preferred subjects, then casually posed some challenging questions beyond high school level to showcase her adult wisdom.
She assumed the role of an older sister throughout, animatedly chit-chatting, while Aozawa smiled on the surface but felt that Dio wasn't "caring" enough towards friends.
That needed more effort!
...
Monday, October 9th.
The autumn breeze blew past the window, and the phone's ringtone shattered the morning haze of the bedroom. Aozawa swiped the phone screen to wake up, greeted by familiar kanji.
Superpower: Result Cancel.
As he blinked, the kanji, as usual, dissolved into the air.
Aozawa reached for the Will-o'-the-wisp by his bedside, put it on, and activated its ability. A silvery light flashed, and the scenery on the ground changed.
He found that the Noble Phantasm's ability hadn't diminished, which meant the subject created by Sky-reaching Fabrication would not weaken or disappear when negated.
Only from now on, the ability of Sky-reaching Fabrication would be weakened.
Aozawa wasn't in a hurry to test exactly how much it had weakened.
Anyway, he'll see how much it's weakened tonight when he plays with Emily.
He got up, contemplating the newly acquired superpower: Result Cancel.
Clearly, it's a very straightforward superpower.
Which is, to erase results.
He had an idea, bent down to pick up a dumbbell from the floor, and tossed it down from mid-air.
Before the dumbbell landed, Aozawa activated the new superpower, Result Cancel, making time seem frozen at that moment.
He observed the dumbbell hanging in mid-air, waved his right hand, and erased the result where the dumbbell would hit the ground.
Then, something bizarre occurred; the dumbbell continued to fall.
Each time it was about to touch the ground, it would suddenly disappear, reappearing in the air to continue falling.
The perpetual motion scene left Aozawa bewildered.
He had erased the result of the dumbbell landing on the ground.
But the falling process still existed, losing the result, leaving only the process, causing the dumbbell to endlessly repeat the falling process.
If this were used for killing, wouldn't it make someone endlessly experience a death loop?
Hiss, Aozawa drew a breath of cold air, nothing could be worse than such a hell.
Aozawa grabbed the dumbbell, placing it on the ground, thus ending the indefinite falling process.
He removed his pajamas, put on the Brilliant High School uniform, opened the door, and felt the cool corridor breeze as Emily and Morimoto Chiyoda's voices wafted from the living room.
Aozawa entered the washroom, arriving in the living room where Emily, no longer lounging, sat upright, raising a hand, "Aozawa, get me a drink."
"Sure."
Aozawa replied, opened the fridge, and placed an orange juice in front of Emily.
Emily nodded with satisfaction, subtly glancing at Morimoto Chiyoda by the serving window, showing a bit of pride.
True "big sisters" aren't determined by physique, but by spirit.
Morimoto Chiyoda was stunned, thinking Aozawa fetching a drink for Emily was expected, but not with such kind words, as if he had no complaints.
Could it be, this boy was interested in Emily?
Morimoto Chiyoda cast a doubtful eye, skeptical that Aozawa's courtesy was due to her influence, or because Emily's older sister persona was effective.
If Aozawa were that obedient, he wouldn't have previously confronted her.
"Even though we are all Treasure Users, reading more books never hurts. Reading broadens one's perspectives."
"Mm."
Aozawa casually replied, letting Emily feel exuberant for now, though a rough evening awaited her.
...
The sky was gloomy; the aged club building seemed under a pall.
Hojo Shouko didn't go to class, entering the Guzheng Club's activity room alone. It was desolate, unoccupied.
She placed her prepared bento on the table, smoothing down her skirt, kneeling on the tatami.
Lost in thought, Hojo Shouko considered how to gauge Aozawa-senpai's views about her.
And given the circumstances, should she join in?
Aozawa-senpai might be accepting, but Ayatsuki-senpai and Phoenix Academy's Senior's opinions mattered too; she didn't want to cause discord among them or Aozawa.
"Oh."
Hojo Shouko sighed, unsure how to proceed.
Footsteps approached from outside, and Natsuka Yanagimachi opened the door, surprised. "Shouko, why are you here so early by yourself today?"
Saying this, she entered the Guzheng Club, closed the door, removed her shoes by the rack, stepping onto the tatami, the chill penetrating her thin tights, causing Natsuka Yanagimachi to shiver.
"The weather's getting colder."
Natsuka Yanagimachi commented, quickly sitting, posing a face full of curiosity, "How do you plan to deal with Aozawa-senpai's situation?"
"Summer Flower, things aren't how you think."
Hojo Shouko shook her head, relaying the news received from Morimoto Chiyoda truthfully to Natsuka Yanagimachi.
"What?!
Natsuka Yanagimachi's eyes rounded with surprise.
Aozawa-senpai sailing three ships correctly, and more shockingly, their willingness.
Natsuka Yanagimachi slapped her cheeks, verifying she's not dreaming, with a startled expression saying, "I thought such things only happened in movies.
This reality is even more magical than films.
Saying this, Natsuka Yanagimachi scrutinized Hojo Shouko's expression, frowning, "Shouko, you're not thinking of joining them as well?"
"Summer Flower." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Hojo Shouko sighed, "I don't know.
Initially, I wanted to probe Aozawa-senpai's feelings, but now I must consider Ayatsuki-senpai and others' thoughts too.
I don't want to trouble Aozawa-senpai."
"How could this trouble him—he'd be overjoyed. "
Natsuka Yanagimachi waved, thinking Hojo Shouko overly concerned.
Judging from Aozawa's philandering nature, Natsuka Yanagimachi didn't believe he could be troubled by one more ship.
A trio is cheating, but wouldn't four or five be the same?
Those leaps are already wide open.
She believed Aozawa wouldn't mind leaping further.
"Really?"
"Of course. Besides, you're not trying to replicate the UK joining the EU by sowing discord. Peaceful coexistence is fine."
Natsuka Yanagimachi assured casually.
Hojo Shouko thought for a moment, finding some truth in it.
"Then tell me, how should I test whether Aozawa-senpai's feelings for me are genuine or merely accommodating my emotions, being reluctantly accepted?"
Natsuka Yanagimachi fell silent.
Having zero experience in love, she couldn't freely advise here.
Natsuka Yanagimachi pondered, "Our school hired a new teacher who seems knowledgeable. Why not ask her!"
"Teacher Riki, right?"
Hojo Shouko pondered; the newcomer indeed appeared quite the love expert.
