To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 88: I can’t think of any other reason
Chapter 88 - I can't think of any other reason
"You must care for my Hwa a lot." Hae-won suddenly said as he led Yun-tae to the guest room and Yun-tae stopped, looking up at him with a questioning gaze. "For you to be able to shed tears for him... It only goes to show."
Yun-tae's ears flushed. He didn't mean to cry. The feelings just... Overwhelm him to the point that he cries.
He was never one to hold back his tears so even if he wanted to, he wouldn't be able to.
"Hwa's mom," Yun-tae called, nervously brushing the back of his neck. "How should I address you? I... I didn't know what to say earlier, and I was nervous, so..."
Hae-won smiled at him and said,
"You can just call me Hwa's mom. I think I'll be comfortable with that." He said. "Anyway, I didn't mention this earlier but I apologize for the inconvenience I caused you the last time you visited."
"Inconvenience?" Yun-tae tilted his head. He could not recall any inconvenience until Hae-won said,
"Me going into heat suddenly,"
"Oh, oh? Please, no." Yun-tae waved his hands in dismissal. "Don't apologize. It wasn't your fault. Your heat came all of a sudden and..." He pursed his lips, his eyes falling to the floor. 'It gave me an opportunity to spend time with Chin-hwa and Kang-woo. And I got to know about heat cycles, so if anything, I'm thankful.' he bowed his head in respect and said, "I'm the one who came in without a heads-up, so, thank you for having me rhay dau and feeding me delicious food."
Hae-won watched him, smiling, and then shook his head. He was a good kid.
"Okay, we're here." He announced showing the door. "Everything you need to take a bath should be inside. I'll get your bag in case you want to change into something else."
"Alright, thank you so much for your help, Hwa's mom." Yun-tae smiled. "I truly appreciate it."
Hae-won nodded and walked away, planning to head for Chin-hwa's room and get Yun-tae's bag when he recalled that Chin-hwa was in the bathroom and this was not really an emergency.
He twisted his lips and then clicked his tongue.
"Well, I'll guess that'll have to wait for a while." He said but then thought of something. "Or rather, I think this would be a nice time to give it to him." he headed for the stairs leading to his room when he saw his kids suddenly having a tense staring contest with Kang-woo who had just walked in.
They weren't talking, which was odd. But he decided to go get what he was looking for first before seeing what they were up to.
He went up to his shared room with his husbands but for some reason, he couldn't find what he was looking for.
"Did I leave it in the car?" He wondered out loud and walked out, only to find the atmosphere around them still tense.
What were they doing? He walked closer and then heard Deok-ryu speak,
"I can't think of any other reason. So tell me, did you give Hwa a hint as to why you suddenly left for the States a few years ago?"
It was a direct question and all Kang-woo needed to do was answer, either a yes or no.
Kang-woo's gaze was firm on Deok-ryu and even when he knew he was guilty of the charge, he did not look guilty.
It wasn't that he was acting arrogant or trying to act indifferent, his mind was simply... Somewhere else at the moment.
And then, while they waited for his response, he suddenly gritted his teeth in annoyance and said,
"I'm an idiot!"
His sudden self insult confused them but it gave Deok-ryu a reason to believe he had indeed let something slip.
"So, why did you tell him?" Deok-ryu asked. "You've been doing a good job so far keeping it to yourself. We've all been doing the same thing and keeping your secret so Hwa won't get hurt. So tell me..." He grabbed Kang-woo by the collar expressing his deep anger. "Why the hell did you let it slip?"
"Okay, calm down Ryu, asking like that won't answer the question," Si-woo said. "Look, the poor boy's beating himself up for it. So, why don't we just calm down and hear what he has to say."
"Does he look like he has anything to say?" Deok-ryu asked, shoving Kang-woo roughly but still holding on to his collar. "Look, I trust you and all because I know you love Hwa just as much as we do, but I won't tolerate it if you make a mistake that ends up causing Hwa to suffer. If you know what I'm saying then fix this mess you created." He shoved him back, releasing his collar. "I don't want to see Hwa shed another tear for your sake." He said and walked out the door.
Si-woo palmed her face and sighed in exhaustion. That knucklehead was such a pain when he got annoyed.
She looked at Kang-woo whose teeth were tightly clenched and eyes sinking in regret.
"Go cool your head or something." Si-woo said. "Sit at the back and calm down if you don't want Hwa to see you like this." She turned and found her mother watching.
She shook her head negatively and then walked up to her room.
Hae-won approached Kang-woo and patted his back.
"I know you feel down but can you not beat yourself up too much?" He asked him. "You'll only make matters worse if you don't act on a clear head. So please,"
Kang-woo nodded and with a sad countenance, he forced out a smile.
"I... I'm alright." He said. "I think I'll go back home for now. I... I'll return in the evening after clearing my head." He said and Hae-won worriedly watched him head back through the door he just walked in through.
He sighed and then someone spoke just behind him.
"I guess that didn't go well." He said and a startled Hae-won turned to find a young man about Deok-ryu's age, wearing a light T-shirt and a rather tattered jean.
He removed his hand from his pocket, and dropped it on the back of his neck and brushed it.
"Ah, Myung-woo," Hae-won said, heaving in relief, and Myung-woo smiled. "You're still here? I thought you left after your manager called?"
"I didn't want to go. They're just going to nag me again." Myung-woo complained, rolling his eyes in laziness. "Besides, it looked like something more interesting was going on here."
"Ah, well," Hae-won dropped his hand on his face in worry. "I don't even know what to say anymore. Everyone has their different challenges to face in life, but I feel my kids are going through triple of what they're supposed to face." He sighed but then shook his head. "Anyway, forget it. I'm sure you don't want to listen to me blab on and on about how I worry about my kids."
"It's actually fun to listen to you blab." He said, "It's way better than listening to my manager nag at me."
"Really, you should treat Nene better. She's doing a lot for you as your manager." Hae-won said but Myung-woo looked away, sticking his tongue out with a 'meh' expression.
He couldn't care less if she worked her bones out. He already advised her to quit a long time ago but she chose to be stubborn.
Myung-woo was Deok-ryu and Si-woo's friend. He was also an Alpha.
He had met Deok-ryu during one of their classes and they hit it off really quick. Then, Deok-ryu introduced his sister to him.
They had been the Alpha trio since then, and they still hung out even after they had graduated.
Myung-woo had taken this place to be his second home and they all welcomed him.

"Anyway, is there anything I can do for you?" He asked Hae-won. "You seem to be looking for something. Can I help?"
"Oh, right." Hae-won snapped. "I totally forgot. I'm looking for an outfit I got for Hwa's friend. I think I left it in the car so I'm going to go check there."
"Mind if I help you out?" Myung-woo offered with a smile and Hae-won's eyes squinted in suspension.
"What are you up to, Myung-woo?" He asked as he folded his arms but Myung-woo shrugged and said,
"Nothing, actually. I just wanted to help out," he suddenly started massaging Hae-won's shoulders. "You know, I care about you a lot since you're like my mom as well. And walking around aimlessly isn't what's good for your age."
"Are you trying to call me old?!" Hae-won flared at him but he laughed and said with a shrug,
"Your words, not mine."
"Seriously, you're so shameless." Hae-won exclaimed and sighed. "Just go get it then." He handed Myung-woo the car remote and then walked away to deal with something else.
Myung-woo smiled and looked at the remote.
Myung-woo was a solo musician. He wrote rock music and played a guitar.
He had this lax air around him, giving the vibe of someone who just wanted to lie down and do nothing, watching others work while he ate.
He had black hair and was cheerful, yet he was very shrewd and calculative.
Myung-woo found the outfit in the car and looked at it with a smile.
"I bet it'll fit him just right. Adorable." He said out loud and made his way inside the house but he did not find Hae-won. Since Hae-won wasn't there, he put it upon himself to take the outfit to Yun-tae.
He walked in, hearing light water splashing in the bathroom. Yun-tae was using the shower.
Myung-woo smiled and turned around, ready to walk away when he heard a thud come from the bathroom. And following that this was Yun-tae's loud exclamation,
"Ugh, it hurts."
Hearing this, Myung-woo alarmingly hurried towards the bathroom, but before he opened the door, he realized that Yun-tae was naked, so he couldn't just barge in even if it was an emergency.
There was no way he would allow their first official meeting to be something so shabby. Yun-tae would remember him as the bathroom guy for life if that happened.
He clenched his fists.
"Are... Are you okay?" He asked.
