Tiny Genius Alert! Mom & Dad Better Make Peace-Chapter 471 - 442: Jun, Breakfast Is Ready 2
When she saw He Xinyun’s forbearing face, all Jian Liangtong’s awkwardness turned into sadness.
Huo Shaojun furrowed his brow slightly, reached out and took Jian Liangtong’s hand, his long fingers firmly encasing her hand within his palm.
The warmth from his palm spread like a stream to the tip of Jian Liangtong’s heart.
Jian Liangtong lowered her eyelids slightly, staring blankly at their hands clasped together.
He Xinyun also stared at their hands intertwined, her eyes red at the corners, using all her strength to resist pulling them apart forcefully.
Trembling, she moved her gaze to Huo Shaojun’s face, the emotions in her eyes a mix of anger and fear.
Huo Shaojun’s eyes narrowed slightly, "Aunt..."
"Not at all." He Xinyun stared at him, "You are the famous Huo Tianwang, the son of the Huo Family, a magnate in the restaurant world. How could a small citizen like me deserve to be called aunt by you?"
Jian Liangtong was startled; it was the first time she saw He Xinyun being so blunt.
Huo Shaojun paused momentarily but continued calmly, "You are Tongtong’s mother, and I am Tongtong’s boyfriend. I ought to address you as aunt."
"Tongtong’s boyfriend? Really?" He Xinyun inhaled sharply and suddenly turned to Jian Liangtong, "You tell me, is he your boyfriend?"
Huo Shaojun also looked at Jian Liangtong.
Two pairs of eyes fell on her face, and Jian Liangtong felt the pressure.
"Jian Liangtong..."
"Mom, he is." Jian Liangtong looked at He Xinyun, her voice firm.
He Xinyun’s face turned pale, and she staggered two steps back.
Luckily, Li Jieying swiftly stepped forward and supported her back.
Jian Liangtong was startled, watching He Xinyun tensely.
Huo Shaojun felt warmed inside because of Jian Liangtong’s firm "he is."
He slightly parted his lips, knowing she had always been like this, brave when facing love, not backing down. Even if she faced worldwide opposition, she would still unhesitatingly run towards that person.
Such a woman, foolish, but even more heart-wrenching.
Huo Shaojun’s mouth fell silent, gazing at He Xinyun, his look frank and resolute, "Aunt, your daughter, I am determined to have her. I hope you can trust me to take care of your daughter."
Take care of her?
He Xinyun’s breathing was trembling as she forced out a few words, "Come with me."
After saying this, He Xinyun gently released Li Jieying’s supporting hand and walked straight outside.
Jian Liangtong watched He Xinyun leave, unable to hide her anxiety and worry as she looked at Huo Shaojun.
Huo Shaojun gave her a quick smile, "I’ll be right back."
"I’m going with you." Jian Liangtong demanded, uneasy.
Huo Shaojun patiently looked at her, "It’s fine, don’t worry, hmm?"
Jian Liangtong gazed at him worriedly.
Huo Shaojun narrowed his eyes slightly, gently brushed her bangs aside, then released Jian Liangtong’s hand and turned towards the door. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Jian Liangtong instinctively took a few steps forward but was held back by Li Jieying grasping her arm from behind.
"Tongtong, your mom wants to talk to him alone now. If you rush out like this, given your mom’s nature, it might turn out even worse. Do you understand?" Li Jieying said.
Jian Liangtong’s eyes shifted twice, exhaling as she turned to look at Li Jieying, "Auntie’s words are fair, I won’t go out."
Li Jieying nodded, releasing her arm.
Jian Liangtong walked to the sofa, hung her head and sat down, silent.
Outside, He Xinyun stood under the old locust tree in the yard. In this short time, she had calmed down, and as she looked at the dignified and tall man coming out the door, her gaze softened.
Huo Shaojun stood in front of He Xinyun, noticing her emotions were no longer as agitated and uncontrollable as they had been inside, his eyes narrowed slightly, and he spoke, "Aunt."
Being called aunt repeatedly by him filled He Xinyun with sadness, and the sound she made had some hoarseness, "Shaojun, Liang Tong forgot everything, but you remember it all. Why? Why disturb her?"
"Since the day I met her, it was destined no one could leave the other behind," Huo Shaojun replied.
"But you once left her! Don’t you remember? Five years ago, you were the one who rejected her." He Xinyun interrogated, her voice trembling.
Huo Shaojun’s throat seemed to be suddenly pierced by a sharp thorn, and his voice instantly dulled, "I never rejected her."
He Xinyun closed her eyes, "Shaojun, enough. Over the years, Tongtong has suffered enough torment. None of you spare her, making her suffer grievously until she’s neither human nor ghost. Do you know how much my mother’s heart aches? She’s the child I carried for ten months and that her father and I cherished. She’s our treasure, not someone to be hurt and mistreated by you!"
At the end, He Xinyun’s voice had become so hoarse that it no longer resembled her own.
Huo Shaojun’s eyes were crimson, "I will make it up to her."
"Make it up?" He Xinyun sneered, "Can I still trust you? Five years ago, when you were together with Liang Tong, neither her father nor I opposed you. You said you were going to get married, and neither of us objected. I trusted you then; I already have! But what about you? Shaojun, I dare not risk my only daughter again. I can’t take it!"
Huo Shaojun clenched his fists, the veins on the back of his hand protruding in tension, staring at He Xinyun, "This time, it won’t happen."
He Xinyun shook her head, without any hope for him, "Shaojun, you don’t need to make any promises to me. To me, any promise is untrustworthy. I don’t fear offending you, but your promise is the one I can’t believe, mainly because you are the person who hurt Liang Tong the most profoundly."
Twenty minutes later, He Xinyun returned indoors from outside.
Jian Liangtong saw her coming in and immediately stood up from the sofa, her face anxious.
He Xinyun looked deeply at her for a moment, saying nothing, then looked at Li Jieying and said, "It’s time to make dinner, let’s go."
Watching He Xinyun and Li Jieying walk into the kitchen one after the other.
Jian Liangtong blinked and quickly walked toward the door.
As soon as she stepped out, Jian Liangtong saw Huo Shaojun standing under the old pagoda tree, his back to her.
Jian Liangtong couldn’t see his face, so she couldn’t tell his mood at the moment.
Holding her breath, Jian Liangtong walked slowly towards him.
Stopping about three or four steps away.
Suddenly, Huo Shaojun turned around, his deep eyes like a dark pool staring straight at her.
Jian Liangtong’s heart fluttered, and she stopped in her tracks.
Huo Shaojun’s cold eyes flickered slightly, and he strode towards her.
Reaching her, he took her hand and led her back under the old pagoda tree.
It was summer, five or six o’clock in the afternoon, the sunlight was somewhat fierce.
Though one couldn’t completely escape the sunlight under the shade of the tree, it was better than standing in a place with no shelter at all.
Standing before him, Jian Liangtong appeared somewhat worried and nervous, tilting her head, staring unblinkingly at Huo Shaojun.
"Dumbstruck?" Huo Shaojun bent his index finger and flicked Jian Liangtong’s forehead. Though he didn’t use much force, it left a red mark on her forehead.
Huo Shaojun lightly frowned, spread his palm to gently rub it.
Suddenly, his hand was covered by a soft, delicate hand.
Huo Shaojun paused momentarily, lowering his gaze to fix on Jian Liangtong.
Jian Liangtong took his hand, interlaced her fingers with his, locking their fingers tightly together.
Huo Shaojun’s body trembled slightly, lowering his head to look at their hands clasped together.
"My mom is sharp-tongued but soft-hearted, a typical case of being tough on the outside but tender inside. If she said anything that made you uncomfortable, could you not mind it?" Jian Liangtong looked at him, speaking softly.
Huo Shaojun looked up at her, curling his lips, "Your mother didn’t say anything to make me uncomfortable."
"..." Jian Liangtong pressed her lips tightly, staring at him without speaking.
"Don’t believe me?" Huo Shaojun raised an eyebrow.
Jian Liangtong shook her head.
Huo Shaojun raised the corner of his lips higher, reaching out to pinch her nose, "She is your mother, don’t you understand her?"
Jian Liangtong glanced at him, muttering, "Exactly because I understand, I’m worried."
He Xinyun had previously explicitly told her not to have any dealings with him and she absolutely wouldn’t agree to them being together.
Because of this, Jian Liangtong didn’t think with He Xinyun’s temperament she would say sharp words to Huo Shaojun, but what she said would definitely be thorough and resolute, leaving no room for mercy.
Huo Shaojun stared at her furrowed brow, slowly reaching out to pull her into his arms, kissing the top of her head, and said in a rich voice, "No matter what she says, I won’t give up."
Jian Liangtong heard this, her heart involuntarily sank; indeed, her mother had laid it out for him, she definitely wouldn’t agree with them being together.
Jian Liangtong couldn’t help but sigh aloud.
Huo Shaojun heard it, his cold eyes momentarily paused, looking down at her, "What’s with the sighing?"
If he hadn’t said anything, it would have been fine, but once he spoke, Jian Liangtong’s sighs came one after another, without stopping.
Huo Shaojun amusingly held her shoulders, gently pushing her slightly out of his embrace, looking at her warmly, "You keep sighing, and I..."
Jian Liangtong gave him an unconcerned look, "And you what..."
Before the last word left her lips, his lips swiftly pressed down.
Huo Shaojun stared at her lips, raised an eyebrow wickedly, "This method does work, doesn’t it?"
"..." Jian Liangtong’s face exploded with heat, she quickly pressed her lips together, her almond-shaped eyes sparkling, glaring at him seemingly both indignant and bashful.
Huo Shaojun let her glare, only holding a faint, gentle smile, softly gazing at her throughout.
His gaze seemed capable of melting everything, Jian Liangtong felt weak, unintentionally leaning against him.
Huo Shaojun was startled, then laughed helplessly, reaching out to embrace her waist, his other hand pinching her cheek in resignation, "Little fairy."
Jian Liangtong bashfully stuck out her tongue at him.
Huo Shaojun shook his head, looking utterly helpless.
The two intertwined under the tree for a while, Jian Liangtong eventually remembered He Xinyun calling him out for a private conversation.
Straightening in his embrace, Jian Liangtong earnestly raised her head to look at him, "Huo Shaojun, what did my mom actually say to you just now?"
Huo Shaojun drew her back into his arms again, his tone faint, "You’ve guessed it."
Jian Liangtong strained to lift her neck, her eyes slightly red, staring at his eyes, "Do you regret signing this ’agreement’ with me?"
Huo Shaojun lowered his head to capture her lips, his deep gaze firmly watching her shrunken eyes, "Never regret!"
