Tiny Genius Alert! Mom & Dad Better Make Peace-Chapter 466 - 437: Jun Yiliangsheng: Taking Responsibility for My Work 2
Jian Liangtong stood in the middle of the living room, her hands lightly clenched at her sides, her face somewhat stiff from tension, worriedly looking at He Xinyun who was sitting on the sofa, cradling her face in her hands.
Her shoulder was gently patted by Jian Ningfeng.
Jian Liangtong mechanically turned her head to look at Jian Ningfeng, her almond eyes full of confusion and helplessness.
"Sit down first, we’ll talk when you’re seated." Jian Ningfeng said softly.
Jian Liangtong pressed her lips together and nodded.
Jian Ningfeng sat on the single sofa beside the long hair, leaving the spot next to He Xinyun for Jian Liangtong.
Jian Liangtong worriedly frowned and slowly walked to sit beside He Xinyun, her eyes unsure of where to look.
She really, truly had never seen He Xinyun like this before.
So she didn’t know what to say.
Her heart was aching, painfully contracting.
"Alright dear, isn’t our daughter coming back?" Jian Ningfeng looked at He Xinyun, speaking gently.
He Xinyun’s hunched body stiffened.
After a moment, she put down the hands cradling her face, slowly sat up straight, and looked at Jian Liangtong.
Jian Liangtong’s heart twisted terribly because of the exhaustion on He Xinyun’s face and the dry redness in her eyes.
Her throat trembling, Jian Liangtong carefully reached out, gently held He Xinyun’s hand, and in a hoarse voice whispered one word, "Mom."
He Xinyun’s lips trembled as she lowered her head, looking at the hand Jian Liangtong was holding, muttering, "It’s good you came back."
"..." Jian Liangtong’s eyes showed confusion, "Mom, did something happen while I was away?"
He Xinyun looked up at her, with a complexity and anxiety in her eyes that Jian Liangtong couldn’t understand, "Tongtong, tell me honestly, what is your relationship with Huo Shaojun?"
"..." Jian Liangtong’s heart sank, but two spots of red unwittingly appeared on her cheeks as she lightly bit her lower lip and asked, "Did you see the news?"
Seeing the change in Jian Liangtong’s expression, He Xinyun’s heart couldn’t stop growing cold.
Suddenly, He Xinyun shook off Jian Liangtong’s hand excitedly, her tone more severe than ever before, "I don’t care what your relationship with him is, you absolutely cannot be together!"
Jian Liangtong was startled by He Xinyun’s intense reaction, dumbfoundedly looking at her, unable to speak. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"From today on, you are not allowed to have any ties with him! Even if it’s work-related, you can’t be involved with him! You better not cross paths for the rest of your life, better not face each other ever again! Tongtong, remember my words today! Between him and your father and me, you can only choose one!" Leaving these words resolutely, He Xinyun suddenly stood from the sofa, went back to the room without turning back.
The sound of the door closing banged into Jian Liangtong’s eardrums, yet it felt like a bomb exploded in her heart.
Her entire being went numb.
Jian Ningfeng worriedly looked at Jian Liangtong’s pale, dumbfounded profile, and though he had always been the most indulgent and pampering to her, unexpectedly he didn’t go forward to comfort her. Instead, he sighed, got up, and also walked to the room.
Jian Liangtong foolishly watched Jian Ningfeng walk into the room, and the moment the door closed in front of her eyes, a deep, biting pain welled up in her eyes.
She didn’t understand.
Why was He Xinyun’s attitude so fierce and even somewhat extreme!
Did they really oppose her being with Huo Shaojun that much?
Was it because of Huo Shaojun’s fame, because he was a superstar, someone in the entertainment industry, so they opposed it?
Or was it, for some other reason?
Jian Liangtong kept pressing her fingers into her palm, her eyes revealing deep confusion, sitting on her own sofa, yet appearing just like a lost child.
The darkness gradually swept over every inch of light in the room, night had fallen.
He Xinyun and Jian Ningfeng still hadn’t come out of the room.
Jian Liangtong hugged her arms, leaning her head against one side of the windowsill, under the cloak of darkness, her face was hazy, indistinct.
The sudden ringing of the house phone seemed to startle her slightly, Jian Liangtong straightened up, looked towards where the phone was placed.
Her gaze fixed for a few seconds, Jian Liangtong pressed her lips together, glanced at He Xinyun and Jian Ningfeng’s room, then stepped forward to the phone, picked it up, and answered, "Hello."
"It’s me..." A man’s deep, mellow voice came through the phone.
Jian Liangtong’s eyelids quivered, "Huo Shaojun?"
There seemed to be a pause on the other end before he spoke, "Yes, it’s me. Are you alright?"
"Nothing, I’m quite alright." Jian Liangtong’s voice was soft and clear, and only her tone gave nothing away.
"Have you eaten dinner?" Huo Shaojun’s voice was similarly calm.
Jian Liangtong lowered her lashes, "Yes, I did."
There was a delay of a few seconds before Huo Shaojun replied, "I haven’t yet."
Jian Liangtong raised her hand to look at the ladies’ watch on her wrist, it was almost nine o’clock.
Lightly furrowing her brows, Jian Liangtong asked, "Why haven’t you eaten yet?"
"I’m downstairs," Huo Shaojun replied instead.
"..." Jian Liangtong was taken aback, "Downstairs?"
"Yes, come out and have dinner with me." Huo Shaojun said coolly, but it was not a tone that invited discussion.
Jian Liangtong pressed her lower lip, looked toward the master bedroom door, thinking that He Xinyun and Jian Ningfeng hadn’t eaten dinner either, she could go out to buy something for them to eat and bring it back, so she agreed.
Before leaving, Jian Liangtong walked to the master bedroom door, reached out, and knocked lightly on the door.
After a while, there was no response from inside, and Jian Liangtong sighed in her heart, speaking softly, "Mom and Dad, I’m going out to buy you some food, don’t worry."
As expected by Jian Liangtong, He Xinyun and Jian Ningfeng did not respond to her.
Jian Liangtong took a deep breath, turned, and walked toward the door.
Upon leaving the complex, Jian Liangtong immediately saw the Bentley parked by the roadside with Huo Shaojun sitting inside.
Jian Liangtong didn’t realize that ever since dropping her off, Huo Shaojun hadn’t left.
Sitting in the car, Jian Liangtong smiled at him, "What do you want to eat?"
Huo Shaojun leaned over, personally buckled her seatbelt, then looked at her and said, "Let’s go to Yu Xiangju, they have your favorite crayfish."
"You know I like crayfish?" Jian Liangtong tried to chat with him casually, not wanting him to notice anything unusual about her.
"Bai Qiao told me." Huo Shaojun’s cold eyes slightly narrowed, speaking slowly.
"Bai Qiao is such a big mouth, why does he tell you everything?" Jian Liangtong huffed.
Huo Shaojun drove the car without speaking.
Jian Liangtong chatted aimlessly with him for a few more sentences, then leaned back in her seat, facing the car window, and fell silent.
Huo Shaojun seemed to keep his eyes straight ahead, not appearing to notice Jian Liangtong beside him, but his eyebrows were always slightly furrowed, and his thin lips lightly pressed.
In a private room at Yu Xiangju.
Huo Shaojun didn’t ask for Jian Liangtong’s opinion and directly ordered the food, finally adding a bottle of red wine and a glass of lemon juice.
The red wine and drinks arrived first. Huo Shaojun swirled the wine, poured a third into his glass, and as he was about to bring it to his lips, he caught Jian Liangtong’s eager gaze from the corner of his eye.
A softness flowed through Huo Shaojun’s cold eyes. He shook the red liquid in his glass and took a sip at his lips; the rich liquid slid down his throat, enhancing his already magnetic voice, "Stop looking; you’re allergic to alcohol and can’t drink."
He even knows she’s allergic to alcohol?
Jian Liangtong was stunned for a moment, then thought it was probably Bai Qiao who told him, so she didn’t find it strange.
She licked her lower lip, slightly puckered her mouth, and muttered, "Fine, I won’t drink, stingy."
Huo Shaojun raised his right eyebrow, glanced at her, "I’m stingy?"
Jian Liangtong lifted her chin, saying nothing.
Huo Shaojun smirked but also said nothing further.
During the meal, the two barely communicated.
Only Jian Liangtong, who usually had a good appetite, ate very little tonight, only a small bowl of rice, and barely touched her favorite crayfish.
Huo Shaojun noticed but still said nothing.
After the meal, Jian Liangtong ordered some food that He Xinyun and Jian Ningfeng liked to take away. When they left Yu Xiangju, Huo Shaojun, unusually gentlemanly, opened the front passenger door for Jian Liangtong, raising an eyebrow and watching her.
Jian Liangtong couldn’t help but smile, pouting her lips, walking towards him like a "haughty" princess.
Just as she bent down to get into the car, a series of quick high-heeled footsteps approached from behind, faster and faster.
Suddenly, her wrist was grabbed by Huo Shaojun before she could turn around. He pulled her behind him.
At the same time, she could distinctly feel the sudden burst of chill emanating from Huo Shaojun.
Her heart shrank slightly, Jian Liangtong stood bewildered behind Huo Shaojun, not understanding.
"What? Am I a monstrous beast? You pull her behind you the moment I arrive?" The female voice was resentful, jealous, and at the same time aggrieved.
But, it sounded familiar!
Jian Liangtong blinked mechanically, standing motionlessly behind Huo Shaojun.
"Song Yun, this is a public place." Huo Shaojun frowned, staring coldly at Song Yun.
So it was Song Yun!
Jian Liangtong couldn’t help but take a small breath.
Song Yun was dressed in a beige suit that gave a girly vibe, with a half-up ponytail, carrying the latest LV handbag. She appeared from the outside to be dainty and delicate.
But facing Huo Shaojun, her demeanor was somewhat aggressive, assertive, "What’s wrong with a public place? Can’t I talk to you in a public place? You bring her to dinner in a public place and not me? Huo Shaojun, when you called the police to arrest me at the police station, did you ever think about my situation? Don’t you think you’re too much with me?"
Calling the police to have her arrested...
Jian Liangtong’s eyes narrowed in surprise, so the one knocking at Huo Shaojun’s door the other day wasn’t some paparazzi, but Song Yun...
Jian Liangtong’s lips twitched dryly, feeling weird inside.
"So what?" Faced with Song Yun’s barrage of questions, Huo Shaojun just responded mild-manneredly with two words.
Song Yun, infuriated by his nonchalant response, tightened her grip on her handbag strap, her eyes reddened, laughing coldly at Huo Shaojun, "If you don’t care about past relations, don’t blame me for ripping into you in public!"
Huo Shaojun’s thin lips pressed into a line, his expression growing colder, "If you don’t care about Mr. Song’s reputation, suit yourself!"
Saying this, Huo Shaojun turned around, his broad chest like a solid and safe protective net, shielding Jian Liangtong, looking at her with a softer gaze, "Get in the car."
