Chapter 1698: Chapter 1698: The One Who Should Apologize Is Me

Charlotte wondered whether it was just her imagination, but she always felt there was something peculiar in Annie Anne’s voice.

But Charlotte didn’t think much of it. After hanging up the phone, she went straight to Annie Anne’s house.

Charlotte had been to Annie Anne’s house more than once, so everything around was very familiar to her. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

However, upon seeing Annie Anne, Charlotte felt a sense of unfamiliarity.

On her way there, Charlotte had so many things she wanted to say, but the moment she saw Annie Anne, her voice got caught in her throat and wouldn’t come out.

"Long time no see."

Annie Anne was the first to break the awkwardness between them.

"I..."

Thinking about the past, Charlotte couldn’t help but feel a sense of regret in her heart.

But Annie Anne seemed to have anticipated what Charlotte would say and shook her head instead.

"It was my fault, I shouldn’t have projected my emotions onto you," Annie Anne said calmly.

Charlotte felt as if there had been a tremendous change between her and Annie Anne.

Nevertheless, Charlotte took a deep breath and then reached out to embrace Annie Anne.

"I’m the one who should apologize."

As she embraced Annie Anne, Charlotte furrowed her brow.

She seemed to have lost quite a bit of weight again.

"Alright, let’s not say such meaningless things," Annie Anne gently patted Charlotte’s shoulder,

"Annie just fell asleep, so you might have to wait a bit before you can take her back."

Charlotte chuckled, "Had I known, I would have brought the other kids too; they all miss you."

"By the way, I heard about Grace..." Annie Anne hesitated.

Charlotte gave Annie Anne a reassuring smile, "The doctor said Grace’s condition is stabilizing; she should wake up soon."

"For someone as young as Grace to have such an illness..." Annie Anne sighed and muttered to herself.

"How come it didn’t show up in her previous checkups?"

Then Annie Anne got up to pour water for Charlotte, not realizing that her words had sparked further reflection in Charlotte’s mind.

"Mommy..."

At this time, Olivia Thompson stumbled out of the room, still drowsy and holding a huge rabbit plush toy.

She rubbed her eyes and, upon seeing Charlotte sitting on the sofa, instantly perked up.

"Mommy Charlotte!"

Saying this, Olivia ran over to Charlotte with her little legs.

Olivia’s voice snapped Charlotte out of her daze, and she quickly reached out to hold Olivia in her arms, tidying her slightly messy hair.

"Why are you awake? Did Mommy wake you?"

Gently touching Olivia’s rosy cheeks, Charlotte’s eyes were filled with tenderness.

"It was Annie who accidentally fell asleep and made Mommy wait for so long," Olivia softly said as she hugged Charlotte’s arm.

Charlotte looked at Olivia indulgently, wanting to say something more, but the noise at the door caught their attention.

Looking up, they saw Oliver Hudson walking in.

Oliver Hudson wasn’t surprised to see Charlotte there, he just nodded towards her.
