Three Treasures: Spoiled Wife Goes Wild-Chapter 1640: Tormenting Each Other
Charlotte tentatively spoke, originally intending to step forward.
She never expected that Annie Anne would suddenly pick up the ornament nearby, ready to throw it.
However, a figure moved forward quickly and stopped Annie Anne’s action.
"Let go."
When Annie Anne saw it was Oliver Hudson, she reacted as if she had seen something she utterly hated.
She broke free from Oliver Hudson’s grip and turned to shut herself in the room.
The sound of the door slamming shut echoed in Charlotte’s ears, making her furrowed eyebrows not relax a bit.
"Is this the result you wanted, Oliver Hudson?"
Finally, Charlotte slowly raised her gaze, her eyes settling on Oliver Hudson’s face.
"Sorry, I lied to you about Annie."
Although Oliver Hudson’s voice was calm, his tightly clenched fists exposed his inner turmoil.
"Such an apology is of no use to me."
Charlotte took a deep breath but couldn’t dispel the gloomy feeling in her chest.
"Oliver Hudson, do you love Annie?"
Though she already knew the answer, Charlotte still asked, but she didn’t wait for Oliver Hudson to reply, instead commenting:
"So this is your love? You plan to spend a lifetime torturing each other with Annie?"
With that said, Charlotte turned to leave.
"Hopefully, she now likes the cage you’ve carefully prepared for her."
Leaving Oliver Hudson and Annie Anne behind, Charlotte stood by the roadside, gazing at the dark sky, smelling the heavy and moist air.
"It’s going to rain..."
Her nose inexplicably started to sting, causing Charlotte to furrow her eyebrows tighter.
...
When Charlotte returned home, the children had already come back from kindergarten.
However, one person was unexpectedly there.
"Why are you here?"
Charlotte looked at Adam Ross in the living room, surprised, as he put aside the items in his hands.
"Of course, I brought these little guys back," Adam Ross lounged lazily on the sofa, nodding towards Jack and Chad Thompson.
The children immediately rushed over when they saw Charlotte.
This reminded Charlotte of something, and she quickly asked, "Did you see Annie at kindergarten today?"
"Of course, we were together all day, and Uncle Hudson picked her up when school ended," Grace Thompson nodded and answered Charlotte’s question.
But Grace’s words made Charlotte tense up: "How was Annie’s mood? Did she say anything to you? Was she upset or sad?"
Grace didn’t answer immediately, but looked somewhat bewildered at Charlotte, blinking at her.
This made Charlotte realize her emotions were a bit intense.
"No," Grace thought for a moment, then spoke, "I think Annie should be very happy."
"Why?" Charlotte’s voice was slightly heavy.
"Because Annie is now with her daddy and mommy. I used to secretly listen to Annie calling out to Aunt Annie and Uncle Hudson before sleeping at night. I think Annie probably missed them. Now that Annie is back with Aunt Annie and Uncle Hudson, she should be very happy."
