Thousands of Brilliant Stars: You Deserve the Best!-Chapter 73: Be the First, Come Love Me
Jude Hawthorne had never seen a woman like this before, one who indulged so recklessly, disregarding others and even throwing money in his face as an insult!
In Jude Hawthorne’s worldview, only the strong reign supreme; there’s no notion of not striking the weak or women—weakness deserves to be exploited. So he wouldn’t hold back just because Iris Crawford is a woman! However... Iris Crawford’s personality indeed opened his eyes!
Interesting, Jude Hawthorne chuckled, suddenly feeling that having someone like her stir things up in his domain might not be a bad thing. He was rather curious to see how far Iris Crawford could go in defying conventions!
The man was about to charge forward in an instant, his muscular physique showcasing his explosive power. If he really struck Iris Crawford, she would surely be outmatched. Yet, just as he restrained most of his strength to make a move, a figure swiftly appeared in front of Iris Crawford.
In Iris Crawford’s field of vision, Lachlan Wyatt’s broad back resembled a mountain.
Jude Hawthorne’s punch landed on his chest, and the latter merely let out a muffled grunt. While Jude Hawthorne had held back, even so, the impact was still intensely violent. Yet, Lachlan Wyatt not only absorbed it but didn’t even budge?
Jude Hawthorne’s eyes flashed with a gleam; he licked his lips, his voice remaining fierce. Iris Crawford imagined just how much fear Seraphina Colbert must endure in her heart whenever she faced him, "Lachlan, are you standing in the wrong place?"
Lachlan Wyatt squinted his eyes, raised his brows, and said, "If you hit her, this isn’t going to end well."
"Intruding on our Hawthorne Dojo to snatch people?" Jude Hawthorne deliberately sneered and threw another punch, "The dojo isn’t so easy to reason with!"
This won’t settle without causing a commotion. A fight is inevitable.
Lachlan Wyatt’s silhouette flickered as he turned his head and shouted at Iris Crawford, "Stay away!"
In that moment, the sharp light in Lachlan Wyatt’s eyes was like a drawn knife, causing Iris Crawford’s heart to tremble.
Instinctively, she held Seraphina Colbert and moved to the side, then helped her stand, "Can you walk?"
"Yes."
Seraphina Colbert nodded weakly, "You should leave. Don’t offend Jude Hawthorne because of me... they want me to entertain a company’s boss..."
Jude Hawthorne, naturally violent, even in today’s law-abiding society, doesn’t value human life. Unlike Lachlan Wyatt, who plays the fool, Jude Hawthorne’s brutality is all out in the open...
Iris Crawford glanced at Seraphina Colbert’s pale face, "How did it come to this? Come with me, Seraphina, I can arrange a new life and job for you. You’ll be fine with me! Besides, Jude Hawthorne and Lachlan Wyatt seem to have a deep relationship; he’ll certainly be cautious of Lachlan’s presence and offer some face. Don’t be afraid, you’ve got me!"
Seraphina Colbert smiled helplessly, "Why would such an incredible woman like you exist?"
"Why shouldn’t there be? Neither men nor women should be defined." Iris Crawford grabbed Seraphina Colbert’s hand and told her, "Hold tight, I won’t let you assist Jude Hawthorne in entertaining those filthy clients today!"
Seraphina Colbert, wiping her eyes, said, "What if I fall in love with you for that!"
"Then fall in love with me." Iris Crawford laughed heartily, pulling Seraphina Colbert towards the door, "Everyone condemns me for not conforming to my role, you be the first to love me."
She then shouted to Lachlan Wyatt, "Lachlan, can you win the fight!"
Lachlan Wyatt took a deep breath and noticed Iris Crawford had somehow reached the hall entrance without his knowing. Jude Hawthorne immediately shouted, "Stop them for me!"
With the command, all the bodyguards rushed forward!
"Iris Crawford!" Seraphina Colbert screamed, trying to dodge, only to find Iris Crawford charging forward!
She took a few running steps, jumped onto the side wall, leveraged off the wall to deliver a flying kick directly to the face of the leading bodyguard! Her turn and landing were remarkably smooth!
A crisp sound emanated from the man’s nasal bone, followed by his screams!
Jude Hawthorne and Lachlan Wyatt froze, turning to look at Iris Crawford, who was elegantly landing and wiping the sweat from her forehead while catching her breath. Lachlan Wyatt frowned, "Didn’t I tell you to stay away!"
"It’s already this chaotic, why stay away!"
Iris Crawford pointed at the crowd of men in black surrounding them outside the door, "Should we fight our way out together!"
Lachlan Wyatt’s pupils constricted suddenly.
He had never seen such a woman, facing a gang fight and not reaching out to anyone or retreating, but with a raised hand and pointing forward, asking if they should fight their way out together?
Her eyes glowed with excitement, and Lachlan Wyatt’s lips curled upwards, he happened to deflect Jude Hawthorne’s sweeping leg, bent forward to evade the airborne kick, then hooked his fingers into claws to take the initiative to counterattack. This woman was truly unruly, leading him to rebel and itching for a brawl.
"I won’t care if you get hit!"
"If I can’t fight back, I’ll call my brother!" Iris Crawford shouted, "My brother bought me insurance!"
Lachlan Wyatt thought, you’re quite something, and the next second, Iris Crawford shouted, "I can’t fight back! If you hit me again, I’ll surrender flat on the ground, believe it! I’ll lay flat and call my brother; when he comes, you’ll be dead!"
"..." Three seconds of fame, that’s Iris Crawford! This sounds like a grade-schooler threatening after school!
Seraphina Colbert, protected behind Iris Crawford and Lachlan Wyatt, hadn’t even had the chance to speak before she heard the continuous sounds of fighting nearing her ears. After all these years, the Hawthorne Dojo, revered for so long, was tumbled into chaos like the Monkey King wreaking havoc in heaven, not only a mess but accompanied by a cacophony of sounds, pots and pans included, an absolute mayhem!
Jude Hawthorne’s dojo was turned upside down by Iris Crawford and Lachlan Wyatt! 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Iris Crawford was shouting as she ran, "Lachlan! Hold on! Hold on!"
Lachlan Wyatt, caught up in the fight, laughed with reddened eyes, "Just one hit, just one hit?"
It was as if a tornado swept through the crowd, chaos erupted, and wherever it went, no blade of grass survived. Jude Hawthorne watched as Lachlan tore through the crowd, breaking through to the entrance of the dojo, stepping on bodyguards and punching apprentices, forcibly dragging Seraphina Colbert out like a chick!
Normally dressed in a suit, who could tell, Lachlan, are you some kind of beast to be this fierce!
Jude cursed internally, clenching his fists tightly!
Though sparring with Lachlan was thrilling, they couldn’t just let Seraphina go like that!
Lachlan spoiled that Iris so much that she didn’t know the height of the sky, causing havoc in his dojo, this debt had to be settled!
As for Iris, her attitude shifted dramatically, showing no sign of her former arrogance. First, she stirred up the dojo into chaos, and now she suddenly braked hard at the entrance, turning to Jude, saying, "Today Seraphina is coming with me! If you need a partnership, why not let my brother help you? Whatever other bosses can do, The Crawford Family can also do. Second Young Master Hawthorne, surely you understand this logic?"
Jude was so angry that his words carried a murderous intent, his gaze piercing through the crowd, locking onto Iris’ face, "Iris, do you think I don’t dare to do anything to you?"
Iris stuck out her tongue, discreetly gripping Seraphina’s hand, "I’m sorry, okay? I’m just a woman, forgive me!"
"... None of you are leaving today!" Jude’s fists grew harder, Orion Crawford, how could you have such a shameless sister!
******
Half an hour later, Orion Crawford arrived, dragging Iris by the collar, sliding as if on rails to apologize.
"I’m really sorry, Second Young Master Hawthorne, my sister has caused you so much trouble..."
Jude leaned against the wall, arms crossed, standing amidst the "ruins".
His solid muscles tensed together, he gave a thin smile, needing to save face for Orion, yet Iris was truly infuriating, as a man he couldn’t swallow this anger!
"The door’s been kicked in, chairs smashed, floor tiles broken, plus my injured apprentices needing hospital treatment, you tell me how this bill should be settled."
Orion looked at Iris lovingly, "Did it hurt you?"
"..." Jude wanted to hit someone again.
Iris shook her head, "I’m fine, brother, just make sure Seraphina doesn’t end up having to entertain those clients..."
"My sister said it herself." Orion looked up, "As compensation, how about The Crawford Family helps you once, Second Young Master Hawthorne. There’s no need to make a weak woman entertain others."
Listen to Orion Crawford, so gentle and gentlemanly!
Oh?
A gleam appeared in Jude’s eyes; The Crawford Family was far more reliable than those unstable nouveau riche in the entertainment industry. Indeed, with Orion offering this, it was a swift pivot for someone profit-driven like him. After all, it was essentially a resource exchange; with something better, why should Seraphina have to sell herself?
Evidently, Iris had planned all along to use The Crawford Family’s influence in exchange for taking Seraphina away, hence her carefree attitude. Perhaps she came today to make this exchange, originally intending for a peaceful negotiation, but because Jude was infuriating, she couldn’t hold back, throwing a wad of cash at his face! Well now, the fuse had been lit!
Kidding, dare to act tough with Birdie, Birdie specializes in dealing with the unruly!
In the end, it had to be Orion Crawford who stepped in amidst the mess.
But...
"Is one Seraphina worth using your family’s background as an exchange?"
Jude glanced mockingly at Seraphina’s face; he couldn’t deny that this woman was truly beautiful, albeit thoroughly filthy, originally just a plaything for warming the bed of his clients, yet Iris protected her so desperately...
Was this just Iris’ one-sided self-importance?
Unexpectedly, Iris squinted, smiling viciously, "You can’t buy my willing heart with thousands of gold."
Jude punched the wall hard, while Lachlan on the side clicked his tongue, "Orion’s already said it, Jude, we’re all on the same side, there’s no need to really tear up over Seraphina, is there?"
Jude’s brow twitched, "Do you think I don’t know who smashed up my dojo?" Do you really think I’m not upset?
Lachlan looked up at the ceiling, "Well, you were the one who struck first, you can’t pin this on me."
That punch wasn’t light, Lachlan reckoned that when he took off his clothes tonight, he’d definitely see a bruise on his chest.
Jude smirked menacingly, "Are you really spoiling this woman so much?"
Lachlan spread his hands, his handsome face full of cavalier disdain, "You saw it yourself, she’s rich, pretty, and fearless, what do you expect me to do with her?"
Seraphina glanced more at Iris, her heart still pounding, almost unable to believe she could actually be temporarily saved today, wouldn’t have to entertain, drink, sell smiles or her body... because of this daring woman named Iris who stormed into The Hawthorne Dojo and caused such a scene, making Jude have to concede.
