This Young Master is not Cannon Fodder-Chapter 708: Approval
Tianyi only had one word to say to Daoyi. “Sorry.”
After hearing his reply, Daoyi didn’t continue to persuade him. After so many years together, she knew Tianyi’s character. While she couldn’t say she knew him like the back of her hand, she had enough confidence to grasp the major points.
Her husband was prone to hesitation. The more major or difficult the problem, the more prone he was to procrastinate. Luckily, Tianyi’s power made it difficult for him to encounter a situation that would make him hesitate, but for those that did, they were undoubtedly troublesome problems even in the grand scope of the entire Three Thousand Immortal Realms System.
However, once Tianyi made up his mind, it was difficult to persuade him. “Just spend more time with Yinian.”
Her gaze softened when she looked at her child.
Tianyi felt some jealousy. Daoyi had never looked at him with such tenderness before, but what could he do? Could he fight his son for his mother’s love?
“Are you going to tell him?” Daoyi asked.
Tianyi shifted his gaze from Daoyi to Yinian, who had accepted a duel from another challenger. He stayed silent, contemplating. Finally, he uttered one word, “No.”
He didn’t know if he would have the heart to reject Yinian. After all, Tianyi felt guilty toward Yinian. If he failed, he would once more deprive Yinian of a father’s presence. Only this time, it would be a true departure with little hope of returning.
Tianyi shook his head. He shouldn’t be so negative. What if he succeeded? After all, he hadn’t been idle while Yinian was growing up. He had found more systems, a minority with World Wills, and conquered them. As Daoyi said, the more time passed, the greater his foundation for success.
With his heart full of conviction, Tianyi sped up his preparations. Once the trip ended, he would immediately start his plan. Not just for Chaos Fusion—he needed to prepare for contingencies in case he failed.
Aside from the Spacetime Divine System Tianyi planned to fuse with the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System, he was also simultaneously creating more systems. They weren’t for himself but for his family. Tianyi didn’t want his family to become bound like the Trimurti, but he could not deny the benefits of fusing one’s divine world with a system.
Anyway, he would just leave one for Daoyi to master if she ever felt the need to do so. Of course, he would make it as easy as possible so that they would not face the problem the Trimurti had. As for everyone else, Tianyi didn’t plan on letting them succeed, even if it meant the self-destruction of said system.
Although only divinities could merge with systems, Tianyi still prepared many. What if the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System experienced a crisis? Since he might no longer be present, he would leave the key to Daoyi. In other words, she would be the chooser of the one who would merge with the system.
Most of the regions Tianyi selected were remote territories with rich resources but no life. The one exception was the Death Goddess Planetary Alliance. He chose that location, intending to leave it to Yinian. No one within the planetary alliance realized that they had been moved from within the Nine Heavens Universe to the greater universe. Of course, they were confused. The stars in the night sky had completely changed, but no matter how they racked their brains, they would never guess the truth.
There was also a special system that Tianyi was researching. He would give everyone a big surprise.
The trip lasted three thousand more years. During that time, Tianyi took Yinian and his disciples to all the systems belonging to the powerful pantheons of the All Pantheon Alliance—at least the ones that welcomed him. Some were wary of him or hostile for a myriad of reasons Tianyi didn’t want to discover.
When Tianyi returned, he spent most of his days instructing Yinian. Half the time was spent on Nine Heavens Peak, while the other half was spent on the new Death Goddess Planetary Alliance System. Yinian was not receptive to Tianyi’s teachings, but Tianyi was firm on this.
Perhaps sensing Tianyi’s determination—or maybe it was even deeper than that—Yinian accepted it, though not without some backhanded comments.
When all the preparations were done, he requested the Concealed Emperor and Perfected Huanglong’s presence.
Occasionally, he would contact the two, so the three of them had become familiar with each other over the long years. After all, all three of them were divinities, so it was natural for them to be in the same circle. Daoyi and Yan Nie were the same.
Strangely, it wasn’t the newly risen divinities that had the least contact, but Jiang Ziya. He was like a machine built to cultivate. Aside from his necessary duties and required communications, that man spent his entire time cultivating.
Sometimes, Tianyi wondered if Jiang Ziya was a living being. He resembled a machine whose sole purpose was to cultivate and nothing else. It was for this reason that Tianyi didn’t invite him. As long as he convinced the Concealed Emperor and Perfected Huanglong, Jiang Ziya would not oppose him.
At least, that’s what Tianyi thought.
When the Concealed Emperor and Perfected Huanglong received Tianyi’s message to meet outside the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System, they didn’t find it strange. With the precedent of Mengfei, it had become more common to discuss matters outside the range of the Heavenly Dao’s influence.
“Nine Heavens Divinity,” the Concealed Emperor greeted. He was not surprised to see Daoyi present, but he was surprised to see Yan Nie, the Flame Divinity.
Although the outside world considered the Flame Divinity a part of the Heavenly Immortal Court, he was not a true member of the Heavenly Immortal Court’s inner circle.
For a moment, the Concealed Emperor considered whether he had delayed Mengfei’s matter for too long. No matter how he searched, he couldn’t find a good method to release Mengfei from the Heavenly Dao’s control.
Originally, Tianyi would ask him every year or so, but as he grew more accustomed to the lifespan of immortals—and, by extension, divinities—he started only asking every thousand or so years.
The Concealed Emperor dreaded Tianyi’s visits. He simply couldn’t offer a good method to free Mengfei. Each time Tianyi came, he had to find excuses to delay the matter. He had already exhausted most of the viable methods the Lord of Primordial Beginning had left behind.
Perfected Huanglong didn’t help either. He said that since the Concealed Emperor had promised Tianyi, he should take responsibility.
The Concealed Emperor was actually quite anxious. He had thought that Tianyi finally having a son would divert his attention elsewhere. Although he had only recently discovered the existence of Yinian, he had sensed that Tianyi wasn’t as adamant about Mengfei’s matter for the past few thousand years.
The last time Tianyi visited was only three hundred years ago; there should still be seven hundred years left. The Concealed Emperor couldn’t help but suspect that Tianyi had called him here for nefarious purposes.
Thankfully, the atmosphere wasn’t tense, and it didn’t seem like Tianyi wanted to fight him. That didn’t mean he wouldn’t prepare for the worst.
“Concealed Emperor, Perfected Huanglong,” Tianyi greeted back. For a moment, silence filled the air. Knowing that one of them had to take the initiative, Tianyi took a deep breath. “Do you know the situation with the Trimurti?”
“Did something happen in the Veda System?” Tianyi did not hide his conduit’s presence in the Veda System, so it wasn’t strange for the Concealed Emperor to connect the dots. In fact, thanks to Tianyi’s investigation, they gained a lot of information about the Buddhists who had left the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System.
Tianyi shook his head. “No. I want to ask if you remember the World Fusion Method I mentioned before.”
The Concealed Emperor furrowed his brow. After some critical thinking, it didn’t take long to figure out Tianyi’s plan. After all, every time Tianyi met him, it was about Mengfei’s matter. “You want to fuse with the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System? No, impossible. I won’t allow it.”
His words also startled Perfected Huanglong. “Boy, do you know what you are doing? The Three Thousand Immortal Realms System isn’t like the Veda System. Don’t forget—Pangu is still present.”
Clearly, neither of them wanted Tianyi to go through with his plan.
“Think about it clearly. You’re still young. You’re still in a period of rapid growth. Once you grow strong enough, I’m sure we can find a more perfect method. Don’t risk your life so meaninglessly,” the Concealed Emperor persuaded.
Tianyi felt a surge of anger and annoyance, but he suppressed it. Risking his life for his mother was not meaningless. “I already thought it through. Don’t worry—I prepared ahead of time. By fusing the Lord of Primordial Beginning’s Chaos-Regenesis and World Fusion, I created the Chaos Fusion Method. I already tested it and took over the Tengri Divine System, then fused it with many other systems to create the Spacetime Divine System. Its current size is already three-quarters of the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System.”
He began to explain all the preparations he had made over the years. Even Yan Nie couldn’t help but take a second look at Tianyi. Although the latter had summarized it, he never realized Tianyi had done so much.
Of course, Tianyi didn’t explain everything, but what he did explain already sent shockwaves—especially the countless systems he had conquered and merged. Heavens, Tianyi could already separate and form his own force as long as he decided to let the systems under him develop over time. At that point, he might even eclipse the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System.
“No, even if you’ve already prepared this much, it’s still too risky,” the Concealed Emperor said.
Tianyi sighed; he had already suspected that the Concealed Emperor and the others wouldn’t approve of his plan. “Then what do you suggest I do? I have already waited a hundred thousand years, but you haven’t given me a satisfactory method either.”
At this, the Concealed Emperor paused, because what Tianyi said was true. “Let’s wait a bit longer. Perhaps we can discover a method.”
“You already said that just moments ago, and I already waited a hundred thousand years. I can no longer wait,” Tianyi said. “I’m not here seeking your consent. This is just to inform you of my actions so you won’t be caught off guard.”
“If you must insist on this foolishness, I will stop you,” the Concealed Emperor said. “Even if you have Divinity Thrallsong and the Flame Divinity’s aid, we will stop you.”
Tianyi didn’t answer, and the air tensed as the two stared at each other. Both Daoyi and Yan Nie moved into the distance. Perfected Huanglong mirrored their actions. Clearly, both sides wanted the two to fight first and judge whether they needed to join.
The two of them stood in the True Nothingness, still and unmoving. It was as if they could stay in the same position forever. Finally, Tianyi sighed, looking utterly exasperated. “I don’t want to stay here forever, so I’ll take action first.”
Currents of countless colors, predominantly silver and gold, erupted from Tianyi’s body, forming a rainbow tide. This tide formed a domain that resembled a world. Simultaneously, the Concealed Emperor also revealed a phantasmal world of pure light.
To the Concealed Emperor’s shock, he discovered that he couldn’t form a world of light within Tianyi’s sphere of influence. The radiant world dispersed into silken lights that could barely maintain their form. Only when he condensed it into a small sphere could it stabilize—but that sphere was only a few thousand kilometers wide, nothing compared to Tianyi’s materialized world that spanned millions of kilometers.
Furthermore, the Concealed Emperor realized the countless divine-level laws that made up Tianyi’s materialized world. “The Law of Life, the Law of Death, the Law of Fire, the Law of Water, the Law of Earth, the Law of Wood, the Law of Metal, the Law of Yang, the Law of Yin, the Law of Spacetime…”
The sheer number dazzled him. Although the wide variety meant the depth of mystery these divine-level laws carried could not compare to his Divine Law of Light, they served as backdrops supporting Tianyi’s Divine Law of Spacetime, which could contend with his Divine Law of Light. The Divine Law of Spacetime already had an innately higher level of mystery, and combined with Tianyi’s increasing mastery and the support of myriad divine-level laws, the Concealed Emperor was suppressed.
If nothing changed, he would be defeated. The Concealed Emperor found it hard to believe that someone he could handle easily a hundred thousand years ago could now reverse the situation in such a short amount of time.
“Huanglong!” the Concealed Emperor shouted. Although he found it distasteful to require his junior brother’s aid, he had already accepted reality.
Perfected Huanglong immediately took action. He charged into Tianyi’s spacetime world. Each law had its own strengths and weaknesses. While his Divine Law of Earth was not as fast or penetrating as the Divine Law of Light, it was far more stable. Still, his materialized world was suppressed to only tens of thousands of kilometers.
Even with Perfected Huanglong aiding him, the two were firmly suppressed by Tianyi. Upon realizing this, they summoned Jiang Ziya. He arrived but did not join, instead watching from the side. The Concealed Emperor and Perfected Huanglong were puzzled. They questioned him, but Jiang Ziya rebuffed them, saying he had no interest and did not intend to oppose Tianyi’s decision.
After a while longer, Tianyi retracted the spacetime world. “You two can’t defeat me, so you don’t have the ability to stop me.”
Although his words were harsh, they were the truth.
Still, the Concealed Emperor didn’t want to give up so easily. “Have you forgotten about another divinity? In terms of influence, she controls one of the Three Thousand Immortal Realms System’s fundamental rules. If she opposes you, you will only be adding difficulty to yourself.”
He was, of course, referring to Empress Ping, the ruler of the Nether Realm and controller of the Six Paths of Samsara.
Strangely, it wasn’t Tianyi who answered, but a third party. “You don’t need to worry about that.”
The Concealed Emperor and Perfected Huanglong looked over to see two figures arrive. “Founder Confucius and… the remnant of the Numinous Sword Sect?”
