Chapter 190: Richer Than Before!

We reached the guild hall and saw Kira and her team were coming up the street from the opposite direction, their packs looking lighter than before.

Kira spotted us first and waved enthusiastically.

"Jin! Tessa! Good morning!"

Jack grinned, jogging ahead of his party to catch up. "Heading to the guild too? We just finished an herb gathering mission. Super easy. Got paid twenty copper for like two hours of work."

"That’s great," Tessa said, matching his enthusiasm.

We all entered the guild together, the morning rush already in full swing.

And there, sitting at a table near the reception desk, was Teryn’s party.

All four of them were present this time, Teryn himself looking considerably better than yesterday, color back in his face, moving without assistance. The scarred leader sat beside him, along with their other two companions.

The leader spotted us immediately.

Stood up.

"You." He pointed at me, his voice carrying across the common room. "We have sixty silver. Hurry up and give us the potions."

Very subtle.

Several nearby adventurers turned to look, curiosity evident.

I walked over calmly, Tessa beside me, Kira’s party trailing along with obvious interest.

"Chill, big guy," I said, keeping my tone easy. "We’re here for business. Of course we’ll give them to you."

I activated my storage ring, reaching into the dimensional space, and pulled out three vials.

Blue liquid, clearly labeled in my handwriting.

Set them on the table.

Then paused.

Looked at the labels more carefully.

"Oh. Wrong set."

I muttered it mostly to myself, but loud enough that several people nearby could hear.

The labels read: "PURIFICATION."

I set those three aside on the table and reached back into my storage.

Found the correct set, labeled "CORRUPTION TREATMENT v2.0."

And pulled out three vials.

Placed them on the table properly this time.

"There. Three doses. Twenty silver each. Sixty total."

Teryn immediately grabbed them, examining the labels, then handed them to the scarred leader who counted out sixty silver coins with practiced efficiency.

Slid the stack across the table.

I counted it quickly and pocketed the coins while Teryn secured the potions.

"Take one tonight," I instructed. "Second one tomorrow evening. Third one the day after. Should clear the corruption completely."

"Understood. Thank you." Teryn’s voice carried genuine gratitude. "Seriously. You saved my life."

"Just business," I said, though not unkindly.

Kira and her party were watching with fascination, Jack’s eyes wide.

"That’s so much money," he whispered to Kira. "Sixty silver for three bottles?"

Lyssa was looking at me with renewed interest.

Tessa just smiled proudly, standing close enough that her shoulder pressed against my arm.

I was about to put the purification potions back into storage when one of Teryn’s party members, the younger guy who’d spoken up yesterday, suddenly said, "Wait."

I paused, looked at him, raised an eyebrow. "What?"

He pointed at the three vials I’d set aside.

"What’s that potion? The purification one?"

I picked one up, showing it to him.

"This?"

He nodded, his companions leaning in with interest.

I kept my expression calm, neutral, like this was just a casual question about a standard product.

Internally, I was grinning.

Hook set. Now reel them in.

"It’s a purification compound," I said matter-of-factly. "Purifies contaminated water sources, removes toxins from food supplies, neutralizes environmental corruption in small areas."

I held it up to the light, the liquid catching the lamplight.

The party members looked at each other, murmuring quietly.

"Remember that stream that looked off?—"

"That would’ve saved us from boiling everything—"

Lyssa had perked up beside us. "Wait, it can purify any water? Like, make it completely safe to drink?"

"Within reason," I said. "Won’t help if the water source is heavily poisonous or magically cursed. But natural contamination, bacterial issues, mild toxins, yes, it handles those."

Jack was practically bouncing. "That’s amazing! Do you know how much easier that would make camping?"

Jorin, the big quiet guy, nodded thoughtfully. "No more carrying heavy water supplies. Just purify whatever you find."

Teryn’s party was still murmuring among themselves.

Finally, the younger member looked at me.

"How much for those?"

I pretended to consider, like I was doing quick mental math.

"Forty silver. Each."

They blinked.

"That’s even more than the previous one," the scarred leader said, his tone carrying disbelief.

I shrugged casually.

"Different applications, different value." I gestured to the purification vials.

"These are versatility items. One vial can purify enough water for a party of four for an entire week-long expedition. Can clear a contaminated campsite. Can make unsafe food safe to eat in emergencies."

I set the vial down carefully.

"Plus, they’re significantly harder to make. The purification compound requires three rare ingredients. It’s already discounted price."

"Forty silver still seems steep," one of them muttered.

"Then don’t buy it," I said simply. "I’m not here to convince you. Just offering what I have. If you don’t need it, that’s fine. Plenty of other adventurers would find it useful."

They looked at each other again.

Had a quick, whispered conference.

Then the scarred leader sighed.

"We’ll take two. Eighty silver."

Excellent.

I pulled out two more purification vials from my storage and set them on the table.

Collected eighty silver coins.

That’s one hundred forty silver in about five minutes.

This is going better than expected.

Several nearby adventurers who’d been listening to the conversation were now actively approaching.

"Excuse me," a woman in archer’s gear said, "did you say you have potions that purify water?"

"I did."

"How many do you have?"

I made a show of checking my storage.

"Well... I don’t have those in stock for now."

She sighed.

I continued, "But I have other one."

"What other?" another adventurer asked, a mage by the look of his robes.

I grinned internally and started pulling vials from my storage.

Set them on the table in organized rows, each clearly labeled.

"Stamina Restoration. It recovers rapid energy recovery, reduces fatigue. Eight silver per dose."

"Universal Antidote Base, neutralizes common toxins and poisons. Ten silver per dose."

"Mana regeneration enhancer. Increase regeneration speed by 40%"

...

...

The table was covered in vials now, blue, green, amber, all precisely labeled, all professional-quality.

A small crowd had gathered, adventurers looking at the display with obvious interest.

Kira’s party was staring with wide eyes.

"You made all of these?" Jack asked, his voice carrying awe.

"Who else?" Tessa said proudly before I could answer. "We worked through the entire night producing inventory."

"How do we know they work?" someone in the back called out skeptically.

"The corruption treatment’s effectiveness is proven," I said, gesturing to Teryn. "He’s walking around healthy after being infected yesterday."

I looked directly at the skeptic.

"Or you can choose not to buy anything. Your choice."

The mage who’d asked earlier stepped forward.

"I’ll take two mana regeneration catalysts. Thirty silver." He was already pulling out his coin purse. "If they work as advertised, I’ll be back for more."

"Deal."

Another adventurer, looked like a tank class based on his armor, pointed to the stamina restoration.

"Three of those. Twenty-four silver."

"Sold."

And then it was like floodgates opening.

Adventurers started calling out orders, pulling out coin purses, asking questions about effects and duration and combinations.

I handed out vials and collected silver in a steady rhythm, Tessa helping me organize and keep track of who’d paid for what.

Within twenty minutes, the table was nearly empty.

When the rush finally died down, I had a coin purse that was significantly heavier and only a few vials remaining.

Four hundred eighty-six silver.

In less than half an hour.

Kira’s party was still standing there, looking shell-shocked.

"That was insane," Lyssa said. "You just made more money in twenty minutes than we’ll make in a month."

Tessa was beaming, practically glowing with pride.

"Told you we’d be rich~"

I caught the guild receptionist watching from her desk with an expression that was part impressed, part calculating.

Word is definitely going to spread now.

’New alchemist in town selling high-quality potions.’

"So," Tessa said, squeezing my arm excitedly, "Does this mean we can afford that fancy restaurant now?"

I looked at the coin purse.

Did quick math.

"...Yeah. We can afford the fancy restaurant."

She actually squealed.

Jack laughed. "You two are adorable."

"We’re practical," I corrected. "There’s a difference."

"Keep telling yourself that," Lyssa said with a knowing smile.

The guild hall was returning to normal activity now.

The receptionist caught my eye and gestured me over.

Here we go.

I excused myself from the group and approached her desk.

"Quite the show," she said neutrally. "You’re making waves."

"Just selling product."

"Product that half the adventurers in this hall now want regular access to." She pulled out a form.

"The guild council wants to speak with you. Today. About both the dungeon seed discovery and your alchemical capabilities."

Of course they do.

"When?"

"Two hours. Council chamber, third floor." She slid the form across. "Don’t be late."

I took the form, scanned it briefly.

"Understood."

I returned to where Tessa and the others were waiting.

"What did she want?" Tessa asked.

"Meeting."

"About the dungeon?"

"And about this." I gestured to the now-empty table where we’d just conducted our impromptu sales operation.

Tessa’s expression shifted from excited to concerned.

"Is that bad?"

"Probably not. But definitely complicated."

Because everything in my life has to be complicated.

Can’t just sell potions and make money like a normal person.

But at least we had money now.

That was something.

"Come on," I said to Tessa. "We have two hours before the meeting. Let’s get actual breakfast. With the expensive food. We earned it."

Her concern melted back into excitement immediately.

"Candied apples?"

"If we pass that stand, sure."

"Best fiancé ever~"

Kira’s party watched us leave with expressions that suggested they were still processing everything they’d just witnessed.

We stepped out into the morning sunlight, considerably richer than we’d been an hour ago.
