The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 567: Alix meets weather boy.
Chapter 567: Alix meets weather boy.
Alix was gone longer than usual this time, and it was because the red fox had been an excuse. Of course she got her hands on it, snatching it’s system while everyone was fighting off the wolves and two birds that accompanied it. After getting the fox system, she sneaked away to begin her true mission; weather boy.
What she didn’t share with anyone, not even her husband was that she had found his true location. Even though he moved around a lot, the system had found one place in particular where more power was being emitted in the city than any other place.
It was one of the tallest apartment buildings in the city, 100 stories high. It was normal, not the first place she would have thought to look for him.
She could have flown up but that was probably too easy, weather buy would see her coming. He had probably made some preparations in the air since it was well known that she had flying abilities.
"Great thinking, he is not actually inside the building, he is lounging in a fake cloud above which is his house of sorts."
"Ho!" she exclaimed. "That sounds really amazing, i want to live in a cloud house too."
Alix was standing outside the apartment building, in a disguise. She had on a thick red jacket and over it, a red raincoat. The air was cool, and raindrops were falling steadily, hitting the ground around her. It actually seemed like the rain was more intense in this particular area that everywhere else in the country.
Weather boy had really created such a oppressive environment. She looked up to the dark sky with her dragon vision, seeking out the fake cloud house.
The clouds were dark and thick, her vision was not as clear as she wanted so she switched to the eyesight which had been improved by her system. Bingo! just like that, she found it.
A static fluffy dark cloud which resembled the largest cotton candy she had ever seen. It was shaped like a cottage and within the clouds she could see traces of light indicating that someone was home.
"It’s even cuter than i expected." She smiled. A tingly feeling of greed rose in her heart, and she desired the cotton candy cloud house more than anything.
It was the same feeling she often got when she saw great loot in the game. Lately, there had been no such great loot for her.
The corners of her mouth turned up, conveying a glint of mischief. Anyone that knew her would be able to tell at a glance that she was plotting. "It looks like the system gods are about to bless me."
On the virtual screen, the system elf rolled its eyes and cackled.
"You want the house, don’t you?"
"I would not be Alix if i didn’t, you can blame the game for making me greedy and seeing everything as loot." she shrugged.
She walked to the revolving doors leading into the building and slipped inside. Not bothering to stop by the front desk as required by every guest, she breezed through easily as if she was one of the tenants.
It was because the raincoat on her body was one with invisibility abilities. When the elevator doors opened and closed, the two people working at the front desk were puzzled.
When they looked at the monitors however, there was nobody in the elevator.
"Are the elevators acting up again?"
None of them had an answer, maybe that was it. Elevators broke down once in a while, it happened.
Alix made it up to the top floor and the system hacked into the electric keypad door lock.
"Should i be worried that he has no security at all?" she asked before attempting to open the door.
"Are you undermining my abilities? I would have warned you if there was danger around you. Host, the single common personality trait that all system hosts share is arrogance. Why would he need security when he has a strong system? If anyone breaks into his apartment all he has to do is shoot them with a few lightning bolts."
Alix pushed in the door and she walked in.
"Watch out." The system warned her.
She ducked down and narrowly missed being hit by two lightning bolts. Not wasting a single moment, she got her guns and started firing blindly.
"Look before you fire you blind woman, this is not the game, if you die here you will die for real." The system urged her loudly.
She was wasting bullets and giving away her location. Alix slowed down the firing and she calmed herself, it would not be easy to take down weather boy with a few shots.
Calmer, she finally got a chance to look at the man that controlled weather with his system. He was young, mid twenties at most, if she had to guess. He had a dog face, and not the charming affectionate one but just its length and general appearance of some of his features.
While everyone was wrapped up in jackets, shawls and gloves or bundled in blankets searching for warmth, he was wearing a long sleeved black shirt, the top three buttons were open.
He was relaxed, sitting in a chair with his legs crossed and in one hand he had a large glass of wine. His confidence was so over the top because he didn’t show the slightest hint of fear on his face, in fact, he had an annoying smirk.
Alix stood up and deactivated the invisibility ability of the raincoat. Exuding unbothered confidence, she moved and sat on the chair opposite his, crossing one of her legs over the other just as he was doing.
"At last, we meet." he smiled beautifully.
There were sinister intentions behind the smile, Alix could detect from where she was.
"You are not an easy man to find." she told him.
"I could say the same of you. How do you like my surprise? I waited until the moment the door opened to pop back here." He pushed the wine glass he had been drinking out of towards her but then stopped, looking at her with heavily raised eyebrows like he had come to a realization. "Ah, you don’t drink, right?"
"You have done your research on me it seems." She looked around the house slowly.
He nodded once and sipped his wine, laughing softly. He put the glass down and gave her a look which was inscrutable.
"I know everything about you, even what size underwear you wear."
She scoffed, what a lunatic, she thought. What did the size of her bras or undergarments have to do with the matters at hand? Was he a pervert on top of being a killer?
"You didn’t have go that deep?"
He shook his head. "I didn’t go deep enough, i do not even have a single picture of your dragon. But after today, i guess i will have a thousand pictures." He leaned forward and grinned. "You are quiet daring to come to me without any back up. Haven’t you been warned about me? I am certain that the bureau teaches a class on dangerous system hosts and i am one of the top ten. Are you brave, confident or just an idiot?"
He leaned back in the chair and waited for her response.
