Chapter 460: I’m Not The Good Guy.

The whirring of the gate they had entered replaced the chirping birds and light breeze with a low electrical humming as Sol and his allies parted with his collective and emerged at the front of the ship.

There was a slight panic lingering in the atmosphere, even as he approached and stood next to Xie, Yu and Dr’ul who were left in charge in his absence he felt nervousness from the woman but only contempt from the man.

"Xie?" He picked at his most powerful warrior first and the man acknowledged him with an incline of his head , resting his hand across his chest and then looking at the castness before them again.

"Sovereign." Xie smiled and balled his fists. "I have never come across such a host of power before, this place is akin to a fevrish dream I had as a young man, somewhere that held warriors so powerful I would be percieved as strong, but not the strongest."

"Even faced with enemies you might lose against, you still hold that same expression, you really are of a different time, Xie," Yu looked across ay him with a nervous frown, but found her worry only extended from her and Dr’ul because even Sol and his women were smiling at Xie’s sentiment.

"Master Vestic," Yu turned fully and bowed as well. "How was your vacation?"

"Is that what you think it was?" Sol raised his brow at her. "I have only relaxed in the presence of my daughter, I spent every waking moment in conflict within my Collective, amassing power I never kneew possible."

"Indeed you have, even to myself who sees great growth as none at all because of the scope I see all power, you have done a lot while away from us, if I may ask what did-"

"The enemy is now within view." Alpha promptly interrupted the curious cultivator causing him to pout as he had seen the promise of possibly gaining more strength for once through Sol’s freakish progress.

"Is is a General?" Dina squinted her eyes, but received no response outside of a second screen appearing over the one they were looking through with a focusing image of the ships appearing.

"How do we confront them when they are within the same realm as Xie?" Ikaris spoke up, leaning against the dash before her and tapping her fingers nervously. "I regret to be the one to break the mood but this ship is not equipped to withstand a fight of anything this man is capable of-"

"Relax, Ikaris," Sol smiled and opened his palm, extending it towards the ship after locking on to the power of LAW pulsing off the people inside of it. "I don’t plan on making an enemy of every single inhabitant of the nexus, that would be like waging war against trillions of myself, but that does not mean I can’t piss a few people off."

[Unknown Tier: Path]

"Did you just..." Dina slowly panned until her eyes rested on Sol’s side profile as the enip on approach disappeared entirely from their senses and Alpha’s radar. "Master."

"They are now inside of my collective," Sol admitted with a little chuckle before closing his eyes. "I’ll be right back."

After his announcement to everyone sol vanished in a "Pop" leaving slight traces of his mana in an afterimage that slowly faded away over a few silent seconds.

"A madman indeed," Dr’ul chuckled adn relaxed again as their current predicament had been solved by Sol’s weird way of resolution.

"I do not understand," Yu looked to the othersm but it was Xie who took the mantle of explaining as he released a breath of relief as Dr’ul had and visibly relaxed.

"To make a complicated situation simple, Yu, Sovereign cannot be killed while he is within his own domain, I speculated upon this before but if I were to fight him inside of The Sol Collective which he forcibly expands by trillions of stars, tens of thousands of sectors and millions of galaxies on a daily basis it is in the literal sense: myself fighting the raw power of an entire collective focused on destroying me alone."

Xie explained why he was not in the least worried about Sol’s bold move.

"In there, he is master of reality itself, light, darkness, mana, everything belongs to him and bends to his will if he demands it, while an individual holds their own power from free will, even that becomes an extinguishable resource much like a fire that burns from coal and wood." Ikaris added while Dina furiously nodded.

"Originally, this is how Master received the title of King of all Heavens." Alpha chimed in with a nod as well, staring out into the nexus and watching what looked like infinite pathways of intelligence converging, forming lanes that created clusters while they rushed to and from a place she had yet to reach.

—The Sol Collective—

"What just happened?" The leader of the ship asked, the ship they had been travelling in and all the equipment on board had gone cold while the vessel itself was now no more than a rock being dragged toward what he assumed was a black hole though the mass itself remained unseen.

He was a plain looking man, short brown hair and eyes the same with a short uncut beard wearing common clothes and unastonishing boots, the only thing that slightly stood out about his person was the staff strapped to his back and a nexklace with a star emblem hangind off him.

"Sir, what do we do, these stars don’t look the same either, I think we fell through an undocumented wormhole back there-"

"Not a chance in hell, I definitely felt something before the ship died, I think this was the doing of the Golden One, but I have no Idea what it is that he did exactly-"

"One... two... three... four of you," Sol spoke ominously from one of the corners of the cockpit, he was wearing his usual battle getup but was simply leaning against the wall with his arms folded and a shadow obscuring his face while his eyes slightly glowed golden. "What do you want?"

"Who are you-"

"I’m asking the questions here, Jahx." Sol spoke the man’s name causing all four of them to fall into battle stances. "Why were you approaching the ship?" He asked again and his eyes lit up the cockpit causing the four of them to shield their eyes, while Jahx stood upright and lowered the staff, sheathing it and standing at ease.

"I went looking for Sol Vestic, which I am assuming is you, there is a bounty on his head-"

"So you are resigning your life?" Sol walked into the light while a black hole intelsely popped into being before the ship and it began shaking. "A bounty?" He smirked, are you taking me that lightly?"

"I’m just a-"

"You’re a high ranking officer of the Emporium’s elite, I already know who and what you are, the limits of your power and all your weaknesses," Sol walked straight up to the man watcing him visibly tense when they stood face-to-face.

"Sir-" The man’s subordinate held on to her weapon ready to strike Sol from the side, but saw her leader flinch.

"Stand down," Jahx grit his teeth staring in Sol’s eyes. "We cannot win this fight, I don’t know what’s going on, and I don’t know what he did, but we will all die if we fight him." He relaxed even more and lowered his gaze.

"So what now then?" Sol asked, eyes wide at his effortless triumph. "You came all this way to meet me- what now, Captain Jahx?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"I... surrender," The man raised his hands, at at his surrender the staff magnetised to his back fell to the ground with a loud clank in the eerily quiet cockpit.

"Good call," Sol walked pass him and stood before the rest who seemed more resistant than before now that their superior had thrown in the towel. "And you three?" He stared at them with that same maniacal grin, hoping to the cosmos that they give him a reason to raise his hand in violence, but contrasting their expressions the three dropped their weapons as well surrendering with their hands raised.

"Where are we?" Jahx asked turning to meet Sol’s gaze, aside from his allies nobody knew that Sol had an entire Collective Growing inside of his soul, it was a good question, one that even the Emperor had openly shown interest in: how did Sol Vestic move without being found until he was on top of Buche?

"Somewhere that not even the Emperor can find you, somewhere hidden between a world within worlds, hidden within more worlds, hidden from the eyes of darkness and light, safe from the gaze of prime and creation."

"Unfortunately, surrendering won’t save your lives."

"But-"

"I already decided to kill every enemy that crosses my path, the only exemptions to that personal promise are the Vatui who have hidden amongst you, and let me be more clear on their case; I will only spare those who seek to be saved."

"Please..." The woman from before slightly lowered her hands and began walking towards him. "We were wrong to come seeking your life."

"Yes, you were," Sol, in one swift motion took the woman’s head clean off her shoulder with a slap, painting the others behind her with her blood while her body limply fell at his feet, fluttering before going still.

"I thought you were some kind of liberator!" Jahx stomped on the ground causing his staff to flip back into his hand.

"I am not." Sol grabbed the weapon before the man could swing it and snapped it with a single squeeze.

"Everyone keeps misunderstanding me because I pursue goals that theirs might righteously align with, but let me set it straight right now!"

"I was never the good guy, I just always ended up having trouble with the bad, I’m not inherently good nor evil, I exist within the Grey, but morally," He grabbed Jahx by his face smashing his head into the door of the cockpit and breaking it down while the other two began rushing at his turned back. "...Well I don’t hold any moral code that prevents me from finding pleasure in the destruction of anything I consider an enemy, my path simply aligns more with the light than the dark."
