The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human?!-Chapter 1288: Fell Down on an E-Bike in the Snow, Just Came Back from the Hospital, Will Write After a Rest, Please Refresh Tomorrow Morning_2
"Hmm?"
The White Coat’s gaze sharpened.
The people in the elevator weren’t those chief physicians, nor were they members of the project team.
And the uniform on the person was quite striking.
"A delivery person from Bloody Restaurant?"
The White Coat shoved his hands into his pockets.
He wasn’t surprised that a delivery person from Bloody Restaurant found his way here; these pitiful yet hateful folks would dare go anywhere just to deliver their orders.
So now the question is, who is this delivery for?
"Hello."
Facing the White Coat’s stare, Liu Zheng greeted him cordially.
"Hmm."
The White Coat nodded perfunctorily.
"Do you know Bai Tianshi?"
He asked straightforwardly.
"Hmm?"
This unexpected question made the White Coat widen his eyes involuntarily.
"Seems like you do know him."
Liu Zheng deduced the answer from his change in expression.
"Why are you looking for him?"
The White Coat asked.
"I have a delivery for him."
Liu Zheng replied.
"Oh."
The White Coat’s expression shifted slightly.
Bai Shanming brought Bai Tianshi into the project group just to set him up, now they were just waiting for a legitimate reason.
But no one’s a fool; no matter how reasonable and compliant the process seems, the ugliness behind it is all too well known.
Bai Tianshi’s medical skills and reputation are good, such a promising young doctor being sabotaged simply because he offended the big boss... while people wouldn’t dare say anything on the surface, they couldn’t help but murmur in their hearts.
Moreover, with Bai Shanming starting this, similar incidents are sure to happen frequently soon.
After all, if a monk can do it, why can’t a Taoist do it too?
He’s no moralist but he doesn’t want to see such chaos unfold, as this could affect the project’s progress.
But if Bai Tianshi were to be killed by a delivery from Bloody Restaurant, then all issues would cease to exist. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Bai Shanming would achieve his goal, the delivery person would complete his delivery, the project team’s atmosphere wouldn’t sour, and even Bai Tianshi could get a work-related sacrifice treatment, everyone benefits.

"Speak quickly, I’m busy."
The man in a White Coat, with a gloomy look, said.
"Too busy to even take a moment for a cigarette?"
The male humanoid creature in scrub clothes said.
With webbed hands, he took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and tossed a stick to the man.
On the cigarette box, there’s a Pegasus with four wings, holding a bloody arm in its mouth.
This is one of the premium cigarette brands in Metropolis, called "Bloodthirsty Pegasus," but most people refer to it as "Horse Eats Hand."
"You still have a pack in your pocket, I saw it."
The White Coat caught the cigarette and said.
"Damn, you have sharp eyes."
Scrub clothes took out a new pack from his pocket and tossed it to him.
The two stood at the edge of the terrace, looking at the distant clouds of smoke, their gazes empty.
Soon, half a cigarette was finished.
"Speak up, what’s the matter?"
The White Coat extinguished the cigarette butt and said.
This was his habit, smoking only half a cigarette.
"How’s your project been going lately?"
Scrub clothes asked.
"It’s okay. Why are you asking? Thinking of coming back?"
The White Coat replied.
The other person was originally a key member of the project but half voluntarily left due to some reasons.
This project has great potential, wanting to come back is understandable.
"Used to want to, not anymore. Clinical work is more interesting. You folks who do research, your hearts are too dirty."
Scrub clothes shook his head and said.
"You folks doing clinical work aren’t all that clean either. If you’re not planning to come back, then don’t ask. After all, it’s a secret project; knowing too much isn’t good for either of us."
The White Coat retorted.
"If I don’t ask, someone else will. That Bai Tianshi, is he still in your project?"
Scrub clothes asked.
"Why?"
The White Coat didn’t answer.
"His family has been inquiring about his whereabouts a lot recently, and someone has already approached me about it."
Scrub clothes said.
"Then just tell them you don’t know, aren’t you familiar with this process yet?"
The White Coat sneered.
Once you’re in the hospital, you’re its person. Alive, you’re an employee; dead, you’re its materials.
Unless you become a big doctor or part of management, only then can you have some human rights.
"I said it. But I always felt something was off. The Bai Family does have some strength; I’m worried they’ll stir something up."
The Scrubs said.
"A bunch of scoundrels who brew herbal soups for health. What could they possibly stir up?"
The White Coat scoffed.
"You don’t get it. You’ve been away from the clinic too long. You’ve lost that instinct for danger. Including this project you have, I always feel things might go wrong."
The Scrubs shook his head.
"But there’s no way out. This project is a key hospital initiative; I’m merely one of its persons in charge, not even one of the main ones. If I dare propose to end the project or apply to exit, I’ll end up marginalized and silenced."
"At my position, wishing for an honorable withdrawal is impossible."
The White Coat said blandly.
"Alas, why did you insist on switching to research in the first place? Had you focused on clinical work like me, you wouldn’t be in this mess."
The Scrubs sighed.
Those in clinical work can’t entirely escape research, but they do have more choices.
"Let’s not dwell on the past. Besides, even if I had focused on clinical work, would I have avoided anything? Bai Tianshi was focused on clinical work, became a deputy director at such a young age, and yet he offended the wrong person and ended up thrown into this project here to wait for death."
"I don’t have the skill to juggle both. Climbing up is faster with research."
The White Coat sneered.
"Sigh. Just stay out of Bai Tianshi’s affairs, better not get involved in such dirty work."
The Scrubs advised.
"I’m not even getting a chance to do dirty work. Bai Shanming sought out Nicks directly this morning; they’re likely to make a move within a day or two."
The White Coat said.
Bai Shanming is the director of orthopedics and a strong contender for the next deputy dean position. Bai Tianshi offended him and got banished to this project.
Nicks, however, is the chief physician of hematology and one of the main persons in charge of this project.
"Truly like flies on dog excrement."
The Scrubs said with disgust.
"Enough, don’t talk about them anymore. Give me another one."
The White Coat reached out.
"Didn’t I just give you a pack? Your salary is higher than mine, yet you’re stingier; no wonder you’re richer."
The Scrubs grumbled as he handed another stick over.
The White Coat was about to light up when he suddenly twitched his ear.
He turned to look toward the elevator, which was ascending and already on the 3rd floor.
"Why don’t you hide first?"
He frowned at the Scrubs.
"Afraid of what? We aren’t discussing anything unspeakable."
The Scrubs said.
Having reached their positions, although much remains beyond their control, they can at least vent a bit.
"You’re no longer part of the project. Better avoid suspicion."
The White Coat shook his head.
"You’re being too cautious."
The Scrubs pouted and quickly hid behind a pillar.
The White Coat lit the cigarette while pondering who was in the elevator.
Only chief physicians and above can leave for fresh air in the secret project.
Including him, there are six chief physicians involved in this secret project. Who could it be?
The White Coat leaned against the railing facing the elevator, exhaling smoke circles while musing.
"Ding!"
The elevator finally reached the 6th floor, and the doors slowly opened.
"Hmm?"
The White Coat’s gaze sharpened.
The person in the elevator wasn’t one of those chief physicians, nor even someone from the project team.
And the uniform on the counterpart was strikingly eye-catching.
"A delivery person from the Bloody Restaurant?"
The White Coat tucked his hands into his pockets.
He wasn’t surprised the Bloody Restaurant’s delivery person found their way here; to deliver their orders, these poor yet detestable folks would go anywhere.
Now, the question is, who is this delivery for?
"Hello."
Facing the White Coat’s stare, Liu Zheng greeted amicably.
"Hmm."
The White Coat nodded perfunctorily.
"Do you know Bai Tianshi?"
He asked outright.
"Hmm?"
This unexpected question made the White Coat’s eyes widen involuntarily.
"Seems you do."
Liu Zheng gleaned the answer from his change in expression.
