The Wolfless Luna's Revenge: Returning With His Secret Twins-Chapter 275
[SAMANTHA’s Point of View]
“Dominic, what should we do?”
“We have to head back to Pack Manor. We can’t stay here with the kids anymore. It’s dangerous having them around in an open area like this. We have to be cautious. There could be enemies lurking anywhere here.”
I hated that we had to cut this wonderful day short with the twins, but Dominic was right. We couldn’t risk their safety. I looked at Devon and Diana’s faces, and I saw on their faces that they knew what was happening.
“I’m sorry—”
“It’s fine, Mom and Dad.” Despite the worry in his eyes, Devon smiled with enthusiasm. I could tell how all those struggles we went through made him more mature than his age. “We understand that you have to protect the pack first. We can go here again and spend time together once you secure the gates. I know our safety is your top priority.”
There was a pinch in my heart when I smiled at my little boy. Dominic approached him and ruffled his son’s dark hair with a sad smile on his face. Dominic’s soft eyes went to mine and then down at Diana, who was sulking and pouting.
“Awww... my little sweetheart.” I bent down and cupped Diana’s face in both my hands and smiled at her. “I’m sorry if Dad and Mom have to go. After we finish the enemies outside the gates, your Dad and I will make sure to spend a whole day with you and your twin brother.”
“Promise?” Diana gave me a sad look and answered with a pouting lip. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
“Yes, dear. We promise.” Dominic made a pinky swear and then smiled. “We promise that we will go back here and camp. We will be stargazing and have lots of storytelling until ten.”
“With smores?”
“With smores and cups of hot chocolate.”
That put the brightness and excitement back in Diana’s eyes. Dominic really knew how to please his daughter. He knew that Diana loved chocolates more than anything.
I turned to my husband and eyed him, telling him that that’s too much, but he just shrugged his shoulders at me, suppressing a laugh.
“Okay. Let’s head back to the Pack Manor, then,” he grunted as he carried Diana on his back, while Devon walked beside him back to the car. “Let’s just leave this here. I’ll call the Omegas to take care of all this stuff. We can’t waste any more time. Liam needs us at the gate as soon as possible.”

“Liam!”
After we made sure the kids were safe in the manor, my husband and I went straight to the gates, where we saw Liam and Killian discussing something. Their faces were dark and grave as the map of the entire Silver Crescent territory was laid out on the table, with pins marking the locations where the enemies had already infiltrated.
“Dominic!” Liam immediately approached his Alpha and made a bow to acknowledge my husband’s presence inside the tent. When his gaze was back on my husband again, there was nothing there but worry, which made my stomach stiff. What was it again that made Liam worried like this? What happened?
“A Gamma patrol leader has already given me a brief explanation of what is happening here. Tell me, how did these bastards manage to get past the borders? I thought we already set a barrier between Black Forest and the main roads?”
“I am still figuring out how they pulled through this,” Liam answered as he swallowed hard. He was nervous. He was scared that Dominic would think his Beta was too incompetent to let this happen again. “But I got some information that the pack that attacked the borders has a powerful ally with them. Killian and I are planning to go to the border to see it by ourselves.”
Killian was staring at the map, but I knew he was just trying to ignore my presence in the room. It made me a little uncomfortable, especially since my husband didn’t like his presence there.
“It’s been just a week, Killian. Are you already recovered from all those injuries you got from the last fight? The last time I heard about you, you were—”
“I’m completely fine, Dominic,” Killian answered without even looking at Dominic or at me. He was so focused on studying the map, but I knew he was just pretending to avoid my eyes. “I came back here to make sure the borders are safe. It appears that there are still threats coming from the Black Forest.”
“I have a feeling it’s Richard Bennette’s minions that have gone rogue now that the bastard is dead.” Dominic approached the table and studied the map as well. We saw that a large number of them concentrated on the eastern borders again, where the part of the wall was the weakest. “They are trying to play their luck, thinking they could take Silver Crescent down on their own.”
“They are desperate,” Killian commented, and this time, he turned towards us; his eyes automatically found mine, and sorrow cascaded down his face, which immediately changed into coldness that confused me for seconds. I had no idea what was playing in Killian’s head, but I could tell that he didn’t want me in that room with Dominic.
Which made everything awkward inside the tent.
“I will go outside to prepare the patrol group that is coming with us,” Liam excused himself as he gave Dominic a short, uncomfortable smile and then swiftly left the tent, wanting to escape the tension that was building up between Killian and his Alpha.
“Stop it, Dominic,” I whispered to my husband as I felt him tense up when only the three of us were left inside. “This is not the time.”
“I know that you need to make sure the borders are fine, Killian. But you don’t have to rush in here to help. I can tell that you haven’t gotten rid of the curse completely. I can handle the situation on my own. You can go back to MoonStone to focus on your health and your pack.”
“I won’t risk these beasts infiltrating the borders and watching you fail to protect them, Dominic. You know that once the Silver Crescent falls into the hands of the enemies, all the packs surrounding the Black Forest will become vulnerable, and I will never let that happen. I already sent words to the allied Alphas to send aid. The stronger our force is, the safer.”
That’s when Dominic’s eyes darken. His jaw went stiff as I watched how his hand curled into a tight fist. “And what made you think you were in charge of making decisions like these?”
“Dominic, Stop!” I grabbed his wrist, hissing at him.
There was an exchange of lethal glares between them when Liam entered the tent. “We are ready to leave now, Alpha. We need you to lead the team.”
Dominic scowled at Killian and gave the MoonStone Alpha one final glare before he followed Liam and stepped outside the tent. I wanted to stay and apologize to Killian because I knew he was just doing everything he could to help the pack.
“It’s okay, Sam. Go after your husband.” Killian gave me a short, sad smile. “I’m fine.”
I didn’t know, but that smile broke my heart. My mouth opened and then closed. I then decided to keep my thoughts to myself, scared that I would only make things worse between us.
“Okay, Killian,” I murmured with a sigh and then left.

Dominic led the team that drove the enemies away from the eastern gates. He was right. The shifters that attacked the borders were Shadow Werewolves and Black Claws that had gone rogue after they lost their leader. They were all now searching for a place that they could make their own. Too bad they are not smart enough to choose Silver Crescent.
[On your left, Samantha!]
I caught the Black Claw that jumped on my left with my teeth. I sank it deep into his neck. With force, I ripped the head off the Black Claw’s shoulder and spat it in front of the creature that was about to attack me. It flinched in terror, but it was not enough to make it run away for its life. So, I did the favor to end its life by tearing its belly and letting its insides burst on the dirt underneath it.
Liam and Killian were out of sight. Dominic, on the other hand, didn’t leave my side and made sure I was safe as he let me fight, but only if I was within his sight.
While Dominic fought with three giant Shadow Werewolves, I focused on taking down two Black Claws in front of me, who were both very distracted, which confused me. It seemed as if the two of them were fighting over something through their mind link as their eyes glared at me.
With my ability from a Primordial Royal bloodline, I tried to decode their minds and listened to whatever it was that made them agitated in front of me.
[We have to take her back with us alive! That’s what our boss wants!]
[There is no way we could get out of this place alive! Let alone bringing that lady with us! She can fight five Black Claws alone, idiot! You are making a death wish!
[We are dead if we fail this mission!]
Mission? What mission?
[F*ck it! Let’s just do this!]
The taller one attacked. I didn’t give it a chance to get anywhere near me, so I dodged and caught its back between my teeth, ripping its backbone out of its body.
[Do you think I will let you get out of this place alive?]
The smaller one’s eyes grew wide in terror at what he witnessed. I hated the taste of the blood in my mouth, but I enjoyed seeing the fear in my enemy’s eyes before I shredded them to pieces.
After a couple of hours, my husband and I cleared the eastern border and called for the Gamma soldiers to take care of the dead bodies while I watched them work. There, in the woods, I saw something glinting between the shadows of the trees, and I couldn’t believe what my eyes saw.
A silhouette of a man stood there, as if he were watching me. He was still like a ghost. His eyes were piercing. Deadly.
He was wearing the mark of the moon, glinting gold on his forehead.
The mark that was linked to my mother.
