The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 481 - 359: Pranks
"If he truly seeks redemption, then let him go."
Corbin Crowley’s voice was indifferent; he didn’t have much fondness for Caleb Manning. Though he felt the other was a person of substance, his mind was muddled.
There’s nothing wrong with being sentimental and loyal, but one must consider if the person is worthy.
Chloe Callahan was evidently not worth it.
As for the epidemic caused by the killings, although it was Caleb Manning’s fault, given the circumstances at the time, he was also driven to desperation.
If Caleb Manning hadn’t fought back against those people, he would have died himself.
The mistake was in losing control and letting murder blind him, losing reason, and more so, failing to deal with the corpses promptly.
This ultimately led to the outbreak of the epidemic.
Luna Sutton nodded, her expression carrying a hint of disappointment.
Everyone has their own choices and destinies, and since Caleb Manning chose this path, let him go.
They stopped chatting, exchanged a couple more words, and then parted ways.
Corbin Crowley went to discuss matters with Lyle Sutton.
Luna Sutton returned to her room, looking at the book on the table emitting a faint golden light—the Sound Transmission Skill.
She was just about to reach out to take it.
Suddenly.
"Whoosh—"
A sound of something cutting through the air suddenly occurred.
Immediately after, a small stone flew in from outside the window, landing steadily on the table.
She paused for a moment, picked up the stone, and noticed a palm-sized beast skin tied to it.
Curiously, she unfolded it and saw a line of scribbled words in charcoal pen, "Hurry to the woods behind the hill, urgent matter."
The writing was hurried, clearly written in a rush.
"Woods behind the hill?"
Luna Sutton raised an eyebrow, who would send her a message?
Could it be the beastmen from the tribe?
But if the beastmen from the tribe had a matter, they could come directly to her. Why bother inviting her to the woods behind the hill?
Though puzzled, she decided to go and check it out.
To see who exactly it was.
The stone she casually tossed away, while the beast skin with the writing she casually put into her space.
Just as she was about to turn around, she suddenly remembered the book on the table emitting faint golden light—the Sound Transmission Skill—her hand had just touched it.
It turned into streams of golden light that darted into her mind.
Immediately, she felt a refreshing sensation before her eyes, and esoteric incantations appeared in her mind.
She instantly understood how to use it.
As long as she silently recited the other person’s name in her heart, she could perform telepathy without any hindrance.
Her heart stirred, and she silently recited Corbin Crowley’s name.
"Corbin Crowley."
Simultaneously, at Lyle Sutton’s courtyard gate, Corbin Crowley’s steps froze instantly, his eyes were bewildered as he looked around, his gaze full of confusion.
Why did he hear Luna calling him?
He looked left and right but couldn’t see Luna?
Yet he distinctly heard it.
The voice seemed to be beside his ear yet felt like it was inside his mind.
Corbin Crowley didn’t know what the Sound Transmission Skill was; mainly, the beast world lacked such things and no concepts like this existed in his mind.
"Strange, could it be an illusion?"
He frowned, raised his hand to rub his ear, then stepped into the courtyard.
Here, Luna Sutton, seeing no response from Corbin, didn’t mind either. Since Corbin couldn’t use the Sound Transmission Skill, he naturally couldn’t respond to her.
She still couldn’t help but ask the system, "System, did Corbin hear me speak?"
"Of course, he heard you, but because he didn’t see you, he thought he encountered a ghost or had an illusion."
The system’s voice quickly appeared in her mind, carrying a hint of playfulness.
Luna Sutton’s mouth twitched, what does he mean by encountering a ghost or having an illusion?
Her eyes shifted, trying telepathy with Rhys Blackwood, "Moira, what are you doing?"
Rhys Blackwood, training the cubs at the Tribal Square, froze suddenly, his stern face showed rare astonishment.
He instantly looked around, even glanced at the distant treetops, but couldn’t find Luna Sutton’s figure. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
But that voice just now...
It was evidently Luna’s!
Why hear the voice but not see the person?
Luna Sutton hid by the courtyard gate, watching Rhys Blackwood’s bewildered expression from afar, she felt amused.
She transmitted again to Zeke Veridian nearby, "Pip, there’s a leaf on your head."
Zeke Veridian was talking to Soren Phoenix, instinctively touched his head upon hearing, finding no leaf, his emerald eyes full of confusion.
"What’s wrong?"
Soren Phoenix raised an eyebrow at him.
"Nothing."
Zeke Veridian shook his head lightly, his gaze couldn’t help but scan around, visibly not seeing Luna’s figure.
His emerald eyes showed puzzlement.
He frowned and muttered to himself: Strange, the voice was clearly at the ear, but why couldn’t he see anyone.
Luna Sutton’s mischievous side emerged, she continued to transmit to Soren Phoenix, "Peacock, there’s bird poop on your feather robe, it stinks! Go wash it now?"
