The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 279 - 239: Naming_2
The freshly cooked clucking chicken was set aside, some offal was scooped into the pot, and the pot was scrubbed.
As she worked, she asked, "Father, who’s Frosty and Coalball? Did the cubs name them?"
She couldn’t help thinking, these names are just too unpleasant.
When the cubs grow up a bit and hear these names, they’re bound to cry.
Lyle choked and coughed twice at her words: "Who would dare to name them carelessly? We just gave them nicknames."
He pointed to the three wolf cubs playing on the ground, "The silver one is Frosty, the black one is Coalball, the white one..."
Before he finished, the little white wolf puffed out a flame, scorching the priest’s beard.
"Is it supposed to be called Charizard?"
Malachi couldn’t help but interject.
Lyle looked at Malachi instantly and laughed, "You guessed right, it really is called Charizard."
Luna Sutton held her forehead; she was too exhausted to retort.
Frosty, Coalball, Charizard, what kind of names are these?
Corbin Crowley’s corner of his mouth twitched, he silently glanced at the three wolf cubs on the ground, "The eldest is Kael, the second is Kael Shadowend, the third is Frey."
The three wolves playing around suddenly looked up in unison, their eyes sparkling.
Clearly, they were more satisfied with these names.
At this moment, the priest gently touched his singed beard and spoke sadly, "I think the leader did a good job. The names are humble, and they’re easy to raise."
Corbin suddenly picked up the little silver wolf chewing on his boot, "Kael, bite him."
The little wolf cub pounced on the priest with a howl, scaring the old man three feet high.
Finn and Yuri Ashwood stood by watching the show; it had been a long time since they had such lively fun.
Luna Sutton put the sliced mutton into the pot to stir fry, while stirring, she didn’t forget to ask: "Father, what are the eight little snakes called? Don’t tell me they’re differentiated by color?"
Just as she spoke, there was a "crash" from the corner of the stone house.
Everyone turned their heads to see a little crimson snake pushing a clay pot off the stone shelf.
The other seven little snakes of various colors lay there in a row, flicking their tails rapidly, as if clapping and cheering.
Their gaze seemed to say: "Go bite the old man, such humble names are easy to raise..."
Rhys Blackwood held his forehead: "..."
Luna Sutton looked at the shattered ceramic fragments on the ground and suddenly felt a headache.
These weren’t eight snakes; they were clearly eight little troublemakers.
Adding in three wolf cubs, there were 11 little troublemakers.
How would they get through the days ahead?
Lyle was long used to these antics and cast his eyes upon the little vine snakes lying in a row on the stone rack; "Little Black, Little White, Little Green, Little Purple, Little Red..."
Rhys’s face immediately darkened several shades.
"Pfft! Hahaha—"
Malachi couldn’t hold it any longer, laughing until he was out of breath, "Leader, your naming skills are truly..."
Zeke Veridian, who was stoking the fire, twitched the corner of his mouth and silently added another piece of wood to the stove: "Lucky my cubs aren’t born yet."
"Xerxes."
Rhys pointed at the black little snake, then at the verdant one, "Miles."
The little crimson snake wriggled anxiously.
"Crimson."
Rhys quietly uttered two words.
Luna Sutton couldn’t help but laugh out loud: "Are you filming a martial arts drama here?"
Noticing the food in the pot starting to scorch, she quickly told Zeke to lower the heat.
Rhys expressionlessly continued naming: "Azure, Aurelius, Zane..."
When it finally came to the pure white little snake, it suddenly bit Rhys’s finger with a "roar," fiercely adorably.
"This one is called Idiot."
Malachi jumped in with an answer.
Rhys swiped sideways with his tail, "The white one is called Nivalis."
Malachi jumped up holding his butt, "I say, you Black Serpent, why do you like hitting people’s butts?"
"Hahaha..."
Everyone burst into laughter.
Rhys, with a cold expression, retracted his snake tail, "The consequence of a foul mouth."
Malachi grinned while rubbing his butt, suddenly noticing the little crimson snake mimicking his grin, he burst into laughter: "Crimson, come give Uncle Five a blast of fire?"
Little Crimson turned its head and puffed a face full of black smoke at him.
"Cough, cough, cough..." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Malachi hopped around with a blackened face, "Rhys! Control your offspring!"
Luna Sutton laughed so hard the spatula almost fell into the pot, but she caught it in time and quickly focused on her cooking.
Zeke Veridian quietly added another piece of wood to the stove, the corner of his mouth curled into a sneer, "Serves you right."
Amid the laughter, Luna Sutton finally finished cooking.
The stone table was soon filled with delicious dishes.
Mushroom stewed clucking chicken, pan-seared rock mutton, steamed Silver Moon Tail Fish, charcoal-grilled long-tooth pork ribs, stone-slab grilled meat, spicy fried beef offal, garlic-flavored wild boar meat, flame-roasted skewers, wild vegetable scrambled eggs...
There was also a pot of milky-white bone soup, glistening with oily stars, sedimented with medicinal herbs that replenish blood and energy.
Each dish was generously portioned and served in large clay bowls, more than enough for everyone.
"Let’s eat!"
As soon as Luna Sutton announced, eleven furry balls darted over in unison.
Each faster than the next.
"No manners."
Rhys, with a stern face, picked up each of the eight little snakes one by one and set them aside with little bowls, each with a bit of meat in it, for them to eat.
Kael, Kael Shadowend, and Frey were also carried away by Corbin Crowley.
Similarly, they each got a little bowl with a bit of meat, eating on their own.
Three little wolf cubs buried their heads in their food, occasionally baring their teeth to protect their portions.
Corbin frowned and tapped the stone table with the handle of a bone knife, "Fight over it again, and you’ll go hungry."
The eight little snakes were actually quite well-behaved, each coiled around their bowls, eating politely.
Except for when Crimson secretly stole half of Azure’s meat.
Azure noticed the theft, and in anger, bit down on Crimson’s tail, both turning into a writhing mass.
Rhys felt his temple throb, silently pulling them apart and sternly schooling, "Eat from your own bowl first. If it’s not enough, I’ll give you more, but no stealing."
Luna Sutton found the sight amusing and quietly slipped a tender piece of clucking chicken breast into Kael’s bowl.
Kael’s wolf ears twitched, pretending not to notice, but when no one was looking, it nudged the meat to the corner to gnaw on slowly.
"Such a picky little one."
Her heart softened, and she added a piece for both Kael Shadowend and Frey.
Frey spit little flames to sizzle the meat as it ate, satisfied only then.
Kael Shadowend cautiously eyed her for a while, before quickly gulping it down.
Corbin witnessed this scene entirely, his silver eyes warming, and he placed a rib in her bowl, "Luna, make sure you eat more."
Luna Sutton smiled, giving him a sidelong glance, but she did eat the rib.
Of course, she didn’t neglect the eight snake cubs, giving each of them a piece of tender meat in their bowls too.
Although she wanted to alleviate her relationship with the three wolf cubs.
But she couldn’t ignore the eight snake cubs either, they were all her children, she couldn’t be biased.
