The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 278 - 239: Naming
Seeing that it was getting late, everyone stopped talking and started to make a fire to cook dinner.
Lyle’s place barely had any ingredients; apart from salt and meat, there was nothing else.
Luckily, Luna Sutton’s space had everything needed, including mushrooms, wild vegetables, and lots of seasonings.
She had originally wanted to steam a pot of rice...
To be honest, since crossing over into the beast world, she hadn’t eaten rice, and she really craved it.
Unfortunately, all the rice grains were still attached to their stalks and piled up in her space, not yet processed.
They hadn’t been dried either, so she couldn’t eat them now even if she wanted to.
Luckily, the space had a preservation function where time stood still, so food wouldn’t spoil no matter how long it was stored.
She planned to process the rice once they settled down.
There definitely wasn’t time now.
Luna Sutton rolled up her sleeves and poured the mushrooms she took out from her space into a stone pot, stirring them with the cooing chicken caught from the back mountain.
It’s like a wild chicken from later generations, only larger in size.
As she stirred, the aroma filled the air.
"Tsk, Luna, your cooking skill..."
Malachi Arcanus stood by the pot, sneaking a piece of cooing chicken meat with his chopsticks.
Zeke Veridian shot a wind blade from his fingertips while tending the fire, instantly shaving off half of Malachi’s nail, and said coldly, "Steal anymore, and I’ll chop your hand off."
Malachi looked at his half-shaved nail, his mouth twitching, "Zeke, you’re ruthless."
He reluctantly withdrew his hand, placed his chopsticks aside, and grumbled, "Fine, I won’t eat, no need to be so fierce."
But his unwilling gaze kept sneaking glances at the stone pot.
Just then, two figures hurriedly entered the stone house; it was Finn Arcanus and Yuri Ashwood.
They had initially been with Kian Sterling in the Beast King City. Later, when he went to Aetheria, they returned to The Wolf Tribe.
Upon hearing that Corbin Crowley, Rhys Blackwood, Zeke Veridian, Malachi Arcanus, and Luna Sutton had returned, they came over immediately.
They had always had a good relationship.
Naturally, upon returning, they came to visit.
Seeing Lyle Sutton sitting on the stone bench, the two went over and saluted: "Greetings, leader."
But their gazes could not help drifting towards the stone pot, and when they saw Luna cooking, their eyes lit up.
The aroma was truly mouthwatering, causing their mouths to water.
They wondered if they could stick around later and get a taste.
Lyle glanced at Finn Arcanus and Yuri Ashwood, chuckling as he waved his hand, "We’re all family here, no need for these formalities."
Malachi slung an arm around Finn’s shoulders, looking all brotherly, "You came just in time, Luna made mushroom stew with cooing chicken. If you hadn’t come now, Zeke would have eaten it all up!"
Zeke shot a cold glare, "Nonsense, watch out or I’ll slice your tongue."
Malachi kept his arm around Finn’s neck, but his gaze turned to Zeke, clicking his tongue, "Zeke, you’re way too serious. Lighten up, liven up the atmosphere. It’s no fun being like that."
Zeke rolled his eyes and ignored him, focusing on adding firewood to the stove.
At this moment, a rush of footsteps sounded from outside the door.
Jago burst in with an excited expression, even forgetting to salute Lyle, "Master—"
He lunged forward, wanting to hug a leg, but was smacked away by Rhys Blackwood’s snake tail with a "thwack."
Luna Sutton paused her stirring, watching her former mount roll several times on the ground, her mouth twitching as she stifled a laugh, "Jago, you’re still here?"
She thought he would have left after she had departed from The Wolf Tribe or returned to The Leopard Tribe. She hadn’t expected him to still be here.
She felt a bit surprised.
Jago got up, covered in dust, rubbing his hands pitifully, "Master, you don’t want Jago anymore?"
Luna Sutton chuckled, adding some wild onions to the pot, then transferred the finished mushroom stew with cooing chicken to a platter, "Stop playing pitiful, go set the stone bowls."
Jago immediately scampered off to work, absolutely delighted.
Lyle Sutton watched this scene with a smile, pouring himself a bowl of fruit wine, he cheerfully explained, "Luna, your steed is truly good, and very loyal. After you disappeared, he’s been following our tribe’s beastmen to search for you. When he learned you were taken to Aetheria, he wanted to join Corbin and the others, but I stopped him. Frosty and Coal, mainly Jago takes care of them, otherwise, I’d have no energy left."
Every day was chaotic, with mischief and causing trouble, either breaking something or overturning something else.
If not, they tore someone’s beast skin or bullied some cub in the tribe...
Rhys Blackwood’s eight little Aethel Serpents were also troublesome, constantly sneaking into dark corners where no one could find them.
Lyle took a sip of fruit wine, feeling as though his hair had turned a bit grayer.
Thankfully, Jago helped take care of them; otherwise, he would’ve surely lived a few years less from the stress.
Luna Sutton glanced at the bustling Jago, clearly surprised.
