Chapter 72: Elixir

Princess Eleanor was silent as she waited patiently in the dark room.

’How long will it take?’ Princess Eleanor bit her lips nervously as her eyes focused on the door. She did not know what she was about to expect but many things were passing her mind.

What would the man say? What will he think about finding her here?

Princess Eleanor looked at the door waiting for it to be opened at any given time. Her breathing was low as she tried to minimize her existence.

Soon Princess Eleanor could see the door open up and a soft light entered the room. She could not hear any footsteps but she could see a shadow from where she stood.

A man was standing there but Princess Eleanor could not tell who it was. It wasn’t until she saw the outline of the mask that she was sure that it was Sir Kit.

Before Princess Eleanor could take a step forward her eyes shivered. She remembered that it could be anyone. After all, all the people who escorted the Princess wore a mask. How could I be sure that it was Sir Kit?

Princess Eleanor bit her lips as her mind was thinking about any possibilities to check on the person but soon her body stiffened when she heard a voice.

"I know you are there. There is no point in making me wait. Come outside."

Princess Eleanor held her breath as soon as the words reached her ears. She could not find out what gave her away. She was sure that she stood there quietly and yet the man knew.

Princess Eleanor took a deep breath as he told herself, ’At least, I know he is Sir Kit.’

Princess Eleanor took a step forward as a smile formed on her face. As she walked near the man she could see his body clearly. She knew it was Sir Kit.

"So you are here," Sir Kirt said as he moved his head behind only to realize that the person was not who he was expecting. Sir Kit’s eyes widened for a second but he soon maintained his facial expression as if he did not feel anything seeing the Princess standing there.

"Princess?" Sir Kit said in a small voice. He took a step back as he looked at the Princess carefully.

Princess Eleanor was wearing a simple dress. It was white and it shined beautifully under the moonlight. Her face was filled with excitement as if she was here for a mission and her eyes glowed.

"Sir Kit wanted something from my lady in waiting, and I decided to give it to you myself." Princess Eleanor said with a smile on her face. Her eyes looked at Sir Kit as if she was waiting to see the panic in his eyes, but to her dismay, Princess Eleanor did not see any reaction at all.

Princess Eleanor felt a little disappointed when this happened. She bit her lips as she removed a vial from inside.

"I heard you wanted this." Princess Eleanor said as she blinked. She looked so innocent that Sir Kit mistook her for a Goddess offering him the elixir.

Sir Kit was not shocked to see Princess Eleanor. He knew the reason why she was here in place of her lady in waiting.

What made Sir Kit angry was the fact that the Lady, Nia decided to tell thePrincess about it. But that was not all. It was the fact that Princess Eleanor was standing there offering him the vial with a smile.

Sir Kit knew that it was a slow poison. Princess Eleanor was the poison.

Once he extended his hand and took the vial then he would have to do something for the Princess and that was a little scary, after all, Princess Eleanor’s demands were unusual and illogical at times. Something that could be hard.

Sir Kit looked at the glass vial. It looked like the perfume itself that he wanted to examine. The smell was unique and he did not know why Princess Eleanor wanted to bring it with her.

"I do want it." Sir Kit said with a smile. He knew that if he showed any weakness here then Princess Eleanor would take that weakness and play with it.

"I heard Sir Kit wants to give it to someone?" Princess Eleanor took a step forward toward the man. Her eyes narrowed but the smile on her face did not fade. "Who might it be?"

Princess Eleanor did not wait for Sir Kit to react. She bit her lips as she stood inches away from Sir Kit’s face.

Sir Kit looked at the Princess. She was too near him. He wanted to take a step back to create some distance between them but Princess Eleanor was determined.

Sir Kit smiled as he tilted his head as he replied, "I want to give it to someone,"

Princess Eleanor giggled as if she was expecting this answer from him. Her body moved a little as their breathing intertwined. Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes innocently as she touched Sir Kit’s chin.

Her eyes sharpened as she pulled his face down forcing him to look at her. "I was wondering who that someone might be? Who is so precious to my escort? To my knight? Why would you want it so badly? Does Sir Kit want to give it to his lover?"

Princess Eleanor did not wait any longer as stood on her tiptoes. She could hear Sir Kit’s breathing hitch and it empowered her. "I want an answer from you. What made you want to trade the letter with this? Was it the smell or something else that Sir Kit wants?"

Princess Eleanor touched her forehead to Sir Kit’s. The cold mask touched her skin and a shiver ran down her spine but she maintained her posture.

Princess Eleanor looked straight into Sir Kit’s eyes. She was nervous but her tone showed confidence and a little rage. " Or does Siir Kit want to give it to his lover?"
