The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 71: Dried Petals
"Please follow us." The Priestesses said in a small tone.
It had been a few days since they left the deserted area. In the meantime, Princess Eleanor did not have a chance to meet Sir Kit. She saw him seated on Wind, as he walked his horse beside their carriage but he never talked with her.
Princess Eleanor also observed that as they were getting closer and closer to the capital, Sir Kit was getting harder and harder to be seen.
"I will talk with the Priest. He would want to talk with you, Princess." Lady Gisella said in a whisper as she followed the Priestesses.
Princess Eleanor looked at Lady Gisella’s back as she took a deep breath. She looked around as she saw Nia walking behind her. "Princess, we need to follow them to reach our room."
Nia pointed in a certain direction as Princess Eleanor walked towards it. The Princess looked back as she saw Lady Gisella’s back disappearing around the corner.
Over the days, Princess Eleanor and Lady Gisella had gotten much closer. Was it because they had started talking or was it because their interest’s matched, but they were soon comfortable with each other.
Although Princess Eleanor and Lady Gisella were still cautious around each other, but the blooming flame of hate was extinguished. Princess Eleanor and Lady Gisella tried to get information from one another over the period but they smiled with one another and shared their childhood stories too.
Princess Eleanor shook her head as she looked forward in the direction they were moving. The temple’s residential area had narrow corridors but the architecture was lavish.
’The Empire does donate a lot to the temple,’ Princess Eleanor thought as she looked up. She could see small gold figures around the pillar as the sealing of the corridor was filled with paintings. ’If this is the temple’s residential area then how breathtaking will the actual temple be? And what about the Royal Palace? Will it be covered in gold?’
Princess Eleanor did not voice her opinion but her eyes were wide throughout. "The Princess of the Angevin Kingdom," One of the Priestesses said as she stood in front of a massive door. Her eyes looked at Princess Eleanor, waiting for her to answer.
Princess Eleanor nodded her head as she entered the room. Her eyes widened when she saw the interior. It was similar to the way she lived in the Angevin Kingdom when her parents were alive. The room was luxurious and there was nothing else any Princess would need.
Initially, Princess Eleanor had thought that as it was a temple, maybe they would provide them with modest rooms. But looking at the room, in reality, Princess Eleanor was lost for words.
The Roulux Empire had put a lot of effort into this. Was it because of prophecy or did they want to show off their influence and wealth? Princess Eleanor could not tell. She walked around the room before taking a seat in the chair.
Nia also walked around as she determined the locations of things she was searching for. Nia soon walked in a certain direction as she filled a glass full of water and offered it to Princess Eleanor.
"Princess," Nia said when she saw Princess Eleanor had drunk the glass full of water. "I met Sir Kit today."
Princess Eleanor’s actions stopped. Her eyes narrowed as her back became straight. "You met him today?"
Nia nodded her head as she continued, "Before we entered the temple, I met Sir Kit. He might be searching for me as one of the knights showed him the direction." Nia looked at Princess Eleanor who was listening to her carefully.
Nia took a deep breath as she closed her eyes for a brief second. "Sir Kit wants to have the perfume vial. He said that now that the letter has been transferred he should be the one receiving the things he was promised."
Princess Eleanor did not reply but she looked down at her legs. The bandage was still wrapped and a mark was still visible on her skin. "Where does he want to meet?"
Nia was silent but soon she said, "Sir Kit wants to meet tonight. He said he will be coming to the far west room down the corridor at midnight."
Nia looked at the Princess as she saw her eyes glow. A feeling of helplessness filled her head. Nia had known Princess Eleanor for the longest time and she knew the expression on the Princess’s face all too well.
Nia knew that the Princess wanted to do something that might get into trouble. She was about to play with fire, knowing very well that she might get burned in the process.
"Do we have the other perfume ready?" Princess Eleanor asked as she looked at Nia with a smile.
Nia nodded her head as she waited for the Princess to continue. Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes as she asked, "Do we have our flower petals already?"
Nia was confused, "Yes, they are dried."
"Good, I want to infuse the dried petals leaves smell into the perfume bottle that we are giving Sir Kit." Princess Eleanor’s eyes narrowed, "I hope you know how to do that Nia."
Nia nodded her head, "I will need boiling water. I will get it done by evening." Nia was confident in herself but she still did not understand why Princess Eleanor wanted to infuse the smell. "But Princess..."
"You want to know why?" Princess Eleanor asked before Nia could complete her words. She giggled as she continued, "Because Sir Kit is a knight and he is trained to be sensitive to tastes and smell. I hope you understand."
Nia nodded her head, "I will get it done." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Princess Eleanor did not reply as she looked around the room. Her lips were curled into a smile as she waited for midnight to come. ’So you want to have the perfume vial? Who do you want to give it to?’ Princess Eleanor though. ’I cannot wait to find out.’
