Chapter 157: Chapter 157

Princess Eleanor did not know how to react for a minute.

She was sitting and enjoying the view when she heard someone coming her way. Princess Eleanor did not know who he was at first but soon a familiar aura engulfed her and her body relaxed.

Princess Eleanor turned around and said to the man, "What are you doing here?" Princess Eleanor’s breathing was soft as she smiled innocently, "I thought that you were not going to meet me for a few days."

The man in the mask did not show any expression on his face. He walked towards the Chair and he sat there as if he owned the place. "And I thought so too, but I heard something and could not help but come."

Princess Eleanor listened to his words. She understood what he was getting at. Princess Eleanor smiled as she walked towards the opposite side of the man as she sat, "I thought I will see Doctor Raul here, I never knew that Sir Kit was so worried about me that he would come back. I am truly happy."

Sir Kit narrowed his eyes as he looked at Princess Eleanor. Her face was pale. Although he had just heard it, but seeing it with his own eyes left a strong impression on him. "Is Princess feeling better?"

Princess Eleanor nodded her head as her lips curled up into a smile. "I am feeling better now." Princess Eleanor leaned forward as she said, "But how is Sir Kit feeling? Is everything alright at your end?"

Sir Kit folded his hand. He could sense that Princess Eleanor was trying to avoid his question but he was not angry. He could understand that the Princess wanted to hide something but what irritated him was that she was putting herself in danger.

Sir Kit knew that Doctor Raul’s words could not be taken lightly. If the man thought that the Princess was pushing herself to the limit, then he believed it to be true.

"Princess should inform me," Sir Kit said as he blinked his eyes. He did not clarify anything but he knew that the Princess understood his words clearly, "The Princess knows why I am here."

"So you want to know the truth but I thought I would be able to talk with Doctor Raul. I was looking forward to him." Princess Eleanor did not answer clearly, but her eyes showed her displeasure.

"You want me to invite him here?" Sir Kit laughed suddenly, creating a thrift in the quiet night. "I can do it, but the Princess has to be cooperative." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"I am not a fool, Sir Kit. I know that Doctor Raul must have investigated the seeds already. I know what he knows and I know theta he wants to know too. But ..." Princess Eleanor thought about it but she shook her head. She knew that it was something she was not comfortable talking about. "Forget it. Do you think I am so dumb to get caught so easily?"

"So the Princess did it on purpose?" Sir Kit questioned but his gaze clearly indicated how proud he was. He was happy to have met someone like her who knew exactly what she wanted to do. "Fine, I will invite Doctor Raul here but I cannot guarantee if he will be willing to listen to the Princess. I would truly like to see how the Princess tries and make him your person."

"Make him my person?" Princess Eleanor tilted her head. She was curious as she asked, "Have I ever made anyone my person?"

"You have not?" Sir Kit raised his eyes as he smiled, "You made me obey you. You made the Crown Prince’s most trusted commander obey you. The Princess’s lady in waiting has turned extremely loyal to you that she is even writing your words to the letter she sends to her lover. Are we all not your people yet?"

Princess Eleanor was embarrassed. She had never seen them as such. She had only tried to change the situation in her favor. Although Nia was one of her best friends and Commander Colt, the Princess had not much of an impression on him. But Sir Kit...

Princess Eleanor couldn’t help but look at the man. Her feelings for him were complicated. Princess Eleanor knew that she felt safe and secure when she was with him. But there was a fear that this relationship might not work. For now, Princess Eleanor did not want to get involved but she didn’t want to lose him as well, ’Is he really my person?’ Princess Eleanor started thinking over and over. It was not a bad feeling knowing that Sir Kit felt like it too. Once the realization hit her, Princess Eleanor’s face turned red. She could not see in his eyes.

Sir Kit knew that something was wrong. He could sense that the Princess was feeling guilty or maybe she did not want to acknowledge the situation.

"Is the Princess really going to ignore it all? Are you going to deny that you have me obey you or that your lady in waiting wrote a letter that you dictated to her lover?"

Princess Eleanor bit her lips. She truly wanted to ignore it if she could but now she felt like it would be impossible. But a question that Sir Kit had asked, struck her, "You know about the letter?"

"Yes," Sir Kit did not deny it. His eyes looked at Princess Eleanor as he wanted to hear her explanation. "But is this the thing to explain now? I would really like to know what Princess Eleanor had as an explanation for her actions this morning. So should I call Doctor Raul? I am waiting for Princess."

Princess Eleanor could not help but gulp. She had estimated that Doctor Raul must have studied and known that the plant was poisonous. She wanted to strike a deal with the man but she did not expect that Sir Kit would be the one questioning her. ’I wish it was Doctor Raul sitting in front of me now,’

Princess Eleanor nodded her head as she looked at Sir Kit and said, "Yes, I would like to talk with Doctor Raul,"

—---------

Doctor Raul looked at the man in a mask as his lips twitched. He could not help staring at him from time to time.

’Why is Doctor Raul staring at Sir Kit?’ Princess Eleanor thought as she swallowed, ’Is he angry that Sir Kit is my person? Will he report to the Grand Duke that Sir Kit is involved with me?’

Princess Eleanor’s mind was all over the place. No matter how hard she tried to find a reasonable explanation to understand Doctor Raul’s gaze she could not.

Sr Kit sat there expressionless but soon he looked at Doctor Raul with a dead stare. His gaze clearly had a warning in them, ’Say anything unwanted and you will die,’

Doctor Raul who received such a warning was speechless. He could not understand the situation, but he knew that this had something to do with princess Eleanor. Otherwise, why would the man sit in front of her with a mask on?

"Doctor Raul," Princess Eleanor’s voice was soft but there was an unknown fear of lingerie behind it. "Sir Kit is my escort. Please don’t look at him like that."

Princess Eleanor wanted to explain the situation to the man but seeing that Doctor Raul’s face stiffened, Princess Eleanor, became anxious, "I know that I was assigned someone else but I am more comfortable being near him. We have been together throughout the journey so I think he is the one who knows and understands me the best."

"He?" Doctor Raul pointed at Sir Kit. Looking at his warning gaze again, Doctor Raul retracted his hand back. "Isn’t Princess afraid that she had been tricked by this man? What if he does not understand at all."

Princess Eleanor did not understand what Doctor Raul was getting at. She looked at Sir Kit who sat there obediently as if he was shocked too. Princess Eleanor felt bad for Sir Kit. His face was always hidden behind the mask but Princess Eleanor knew what kind of man he was.

Sir Kit had always been around her. He had helped her wherever she needed his help. He was the one who had protected her and even helped her to clear the Grand Duke’s name. Not only that he was suffering punishment because of her mistake and Duke Beaumont had blamed him and yet he happily accepted his fate. How could such a man be anything but understanding and kind?

Princess Eleanor’s eyes were sharp as she leaned back on the chair. She knew that Doctor Raul had his own opinion but she was not happy and she wanted to show it clearly, "I don’t think Doctor Raul has any right to question Sir Kit’s character. I know what type of man he is. Maybe better than Doctor Raul himself."

Princess Eleanor smiled as she folded her hand. Her eyes looked straight at him, "So Doctor Raul, let’s forget about him and start discussing why we are here."
