Chapter 415: The same fate

Abrielle was shaken by Sebastian. She almost lost her footing but Sebastian caught her before she fell and assisted her to sit on a nearby chair. His heart squeezed seeing her reaction.

He should not have said a thing even if she had asked. "Try to relax. I will get the maid to bring you a glass of water. " He said then left the room. Abrielle sat there, head bowed fist clenched on her thighs while her body silently trembled. This could not be happening to her again.

Cedric loves her now. Why on earth would he want her dead? It makes no perfect sense but the look on Sebastian’s face said otherwise. Was her fate already written on stone? He would kill her.

Why was it like this? After everything she tried and fought for. The risk, the trauma only for it to end up that way. The door was slowly opened, Sebastian’s hands clenched by his side.

She was crying. He didn’t mean to make her cry. This was all because that bastard saved them that day. "Abrielle," he called lightly and she glanced at him.

Sebastian walked up to her and then squatted by her side. He gave her the glass of water, and she accepted it with shaky hands. Her fingers touched the cold glass and his next words stunned her completely.

"How about you run away?" He asked, and her head bobbed up to meet his blue eyes. "What do you mean?"

"Run away from Darconia until everything settles. Adeline lives over the ocean in Heliosa. I am sure she will be more than happy to take you in and Heliosa is as strong as Darconia. You will be safe there. Run away and leave this accursed marriage." His hands covered her cold ones holding the glass of water.

He held her gaze. Abrielle understood what he meant. Adeline, her older cousin, was married to a prince of Heliosa. Unlike Darconia, Heliosa had easier succession methods.

There was a bloodbath, but Adeline’s husband was not a key player, so he was relatively safe. From what she knows the crown prince of Heliosa was not someone to be trifled with. His half-siblings didn’t stand a chance so they never bothered going against him

Heliosa was as if Cedric was the crown prince and Lucian didn’t have much support. Heliosa was the safest place for her.

"But Sebastian.." Abrielle’s voice broke. Sebastian cut her off to speak sense into her. Cedric was going to be the death of her one way or the other.

"Just ask Aunt Rebecca she will be more than ready to help you. I have written to Adeline and I hope she gets it soon. So please consider it. I don’t want you dying for a lost cost." Sebastian explained that Abrielle’s heartbeat was in chaos.

"If you spent energy like this training for the duchy position, I am sure you will be done, Sebastian." A calm voice commented from the door. It didn’t carry any emotion but Abrielle jolted away from Sebastian.

The glass of water crashed on the floor. The shard flew around, and a cold chill went down her spine.

She was too scared to hold his gaze. Sebastian scoffed and stood up. His hands clenched, his gaze firm as his eyes met Cedric, standing calmly at the door. His body was leaning against the frame

Cedric was not wearing his mask for sure, but a brown scarf was wrapped around his face, exposing just his eyes that were staring back at Sebastian. His expression was unreadable.

He finally gets to Vesper after gathering the information necessary for his plans, only to walk in on a scene of his wife’s cousin convincing her to run away. This was truly ridiculous, and she sat on the seat, head bowed, too scared to hold his gaze because she was scared.

She has every right to be. "It is unexpected for you to show up this way," Sebastian said not flinching at the intensity of Cedric’s gaze

Cedric straightened up and stepped into the room. "It’s my in-laws’ place, and if my memory serves me well, Pierre said I was free to come whenever I feel like." Cedric taunted his eyes falling on the scared ginger.

"Abrielle you can raise your head." He added. Her shoulders stiffened and she nervously met his gaze. He stretched out her hand. Her throat went dry and she nervously stood up.

Sebastian wanted to stop her and tell her this was the Nightshade territory and Cedric had lost his influence. She could say no if she wanted but he didn’t

She was trembling, but her gaze was locked on him. How can you love someone who makes you shake in fear? Abrielle was falling for him.

Her fingers touched his and Cedric pulled her close. His arm wrapped around her waist. "Even if you attempt to run to Heliosa I will find you. " He whispered in her ear and her eyes went wide. That wasn’t a threat but the truth.

"By the way, Sebastian. I formerly had a good opinion of you and I would love to leave it that way. Stop poking your nose in others’ relationships and focus on Annalise, I heard that her family might lose their title soon." Cedric commented, reminding Sebastian of his fiancée, before he stormed out of the room, pulling Abrielle with him.

His strides were fast and his aura was calm, but Abrielle knew him too much to be fooled by that. He was mad but suppressing it.

Fast footsteps approached, and it was Pierre and Rebecca running towards them. They had something to say, their gaze complex.

"Cedric, can we have a word with you?" Rebecca requested, even if he wasn’t officially the first prince anymore he was still a formidable figure.

Cedric didn’t stop and walked past them. "We can talk later. I want to have a word with my wife. It’s been ages since I saw my lovely wife last." He said sweetly. He was even scarier when he was acting nice.

"I am fine. We just want to catch up." Abrielle chimed in flashing her parents the sweetest smile.

They got to Abrielle’s room, and he slammed the door behind them before he pinned her against it. Cedric was looming over them, and his scarf fell off his face. "So what was that conversation about dear wife? Planning another stunt." Cedric asked with the softest smile ever. His hands caged her.

His smile was so gentle it completely terrified her!!!
