The villain's side of the novel-Chapter 214 The Bonfire Party
Chapter 214 The Bonfire Party
The four characters stood amid the eerie stone structures, the air thick with tension and anticipation.
Before them stood an old man with a long green robe, his face obscured by a massive white beard that cascaded down to his chest. His eyes twinkled with a hint of mischief as he addressed the group.
"Welcome, brave travelers, to your second challenge," the old man announced, his voice echoing through the stone formations. "You must survive the hordes of monsters that lie within these ancient structures."
As the old man spoke, the stone formations around them began to shift and groan. From within the stones, monstrous shapes started to emerge, clawing and writhing as if desperate to break free. However, an invisible barrier seemed to hold them back, preventing them from reaching the group.
"These creatures are trapped by powerful magic," the old man explained, "but the magic will wane, and they will soon be free to roam. Your task is to survive their onslaught until the barrier is lifted."
The group exchanged worried glances, understanding the gravity of the challenge before them. But before anyone could voice their concerns, a man with dark hair and a creepy smile stepped forward, raising his hand with a sinister glint in his eyes.
"Excuse me, sir," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "May I have the pleasure of eliminating the other participants?"
"..." The rest of the group looked at the man with dark hair in shock and disbelief, unsure of his true intentions.
The old man regarded the man with a knowing smile, seemingly unfazed by the sinister request. "Ah, the thrill of the hunt," he replied, his voice low and enigmatic. "Very well, if you wish to fight each other, I won't stop you."
A girl with brown hair took a step forward, her expression a mix of concern and determination.
"But we're supposed to be working together, not against each other," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of desperation.
The man with dark hair chuckled darkly. "Survival of the fittest, my dear," he said. "It's the law of nature. Only the strong will survive, and I have no intention of being anyone's prey."
....
As night fell over the village, Fray, Lisa, Aslan, and Lysander were shocked by a very surprising sight.
The villagers had gathered around a massive bonfire in the center of the village, its flames casting dancing shadows on the ground. The crackling of the fire and the sounds of laughter and chatter filled the air, creating a lively atmosphere.
The villagers seemed to have put the day's mysterious events behind them, embracing the celebration with enthusiasm.
They wore colorful attire and adorned themselves with festive decorations.
The aroma of delicious food and drinks wafted through the air, enticing everyone to partake in the festivities.
Lisa, Aslan, and Lysander were drawn into the revelry. They mingled with the villagers, laughing and sharing stories as if they had been part of this community all along.
There was something infectious about the villagers' joy that lifted their spirits despite the enigmatic challenges they were facing, even Fray who was sitting on a wooden log watching the party for some found himself conformable in the presence of these people.
As the night wore on, music filled the air, and some villagers started dancing around the bonfire. The rhythmic beat of drums and the haunting melody of flutes entranced the crowd, inspiring them to move with grace and abandon.
Lysander couldn't resist joining in the dancing. He took Lisa's hand and pulled her into the circle of dancers.
Lisa hesitated at first but soon found herself swept up in the joyous atmosphere, moving to the music with Lysander.
Aslan and Fray watched with amusement as their friends let loose, dancing with abandon. They, too, eventually joined the celebration, finding themselves spinning around the fire.
"Fray, can I ask you something, just for the sake of conversation?" the innkeeper inquired, his eyes searching Fray's face.
Fray looked at the innkeeper with a cautious expression. "What's the question?" he asked, slightly on guard.
"What's your opinion about the monsters, or in general about other races in our world?" the innkeeper asked, his gaze steady.
Fray raised an eyebrow, finding the question perplexing. "Why are you asking such a question?" he replied, curiosity tinged with suspicion.
Beside the innkeeper, a villager with clever eyes and one arm chimed in, "Actually, in the past year, You have been implementing your vision for the world, and a lot of people didn't like it. But until now, you haven't announced your reason for it, so we just want to know why."
Lisa, Aslan, Lysander, and even Fray were taken aback by the villager's straightforwardness. They exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of where this conversation was heading.
"I don't have to tell you anything," Fray responded curtly, taking a sip from his drink.
"You know, Fray, that's the reason why so many people don't like you," another man with a scar on his head remarked.
Fray's frustration began to show. "What do you mean?" he asked, his tone tense.
"Fray, you're the head of the Parada family now," the innkeeper said with a serious tone.
"What!?" Fray exclaimed, stunned by the revelation.
"Yes, you've become the head of the Parada family, and you've gained the respect of many people, but there are also those who don't like you because you don't explain yourself or your actions," the scarred man explained.
Aslan noticed the change in Fray's demeanor and gently placed her hand on his, offering a reassuring squeeze. "Fray," she said softly, "I understand why you've always been hesitant to share your thoughts and feelings with others. You've always felt the burden of responsibility on your shoulders, but Fray you're not alone anymore,"
" She's right you can't be a good leader if you can't express your thoughts about the world " The innkeeper added
Fray looked at Aslan with calm eyes. As he realized if what the innkeeper was true, his role as the head of the Parada family meant that he had people who are under his responsibility and that his thoughts and opinions are not his anymore.
Thus, sighing inwardly Fray decided to answer the innkeeper's question, " I think coexistence with other races is impossible."
" And why do you think so?" The innkeeper asked

In the heart of a dark forest, under the eerie moonlight, a young man with jet-black hair and eyes stood amidst a circle of three lifeless bodies - two young men and a girl. Surrounding them were the corpses of numerous grotesque monsters, strewn across the stone formation.
With a sinister smile, the young man lifted his hand, and from his fingertips, malevolent black energy emerged.
The dark energy engulfed the bodies of the humans and monsters, causing them to twitch and stir with an unnatural force. The black energy began to mold and reshape them as if giving them a twisted rebirth.
Meanwhile, an old man with a long, flowing white beard observed the scene with an amused grin. His eyes sparkled with fascination as he mumbled, "Haha, he even exceeded my expectations ."
The atmosphere grew even darker as the transformed bodies started to rise, their appearances changed into something otherworldly and terrifying.
The girl's eyes gleamed with a haunting glow, the two young men's bodies contorted into monstrous shapes, and the once lifeless monsters now showed signs of unnatural life.
The dark forest seemed to come alive with an eerie energy, and an unsettling aura surrounded the young man and the transformed beings.
The old man continued to watch with an air of intrigue, as though he were witnessing a spectacle beyond mortal comprehension.
