The Villain's Apocalypse-Chapter 26: Sidetracked
Chapter 26: Sidetracked
"Care to explain your disappearance?"
[...]
sigh
"What do I do with this sword?" He asked again, expecting some response.
[The Saint Sword is one of the Divinities. Host can purify the curse and become its owner.]
"How?"
[...]
"So, you don’t know either."
[Host’s strength is too low...]
"I guess you could say that. I received one shock after another, and I forgot the main reason why I’m currently here." He shook his head, removing those useless thoughts away.
"My main problem is my strength. I’m just a star-rank individual, the lowest tier, right above a normal human. I should change this status first." He clenched his fist tightly, resolved to take the Orb of Elementus from this dungeon. That was the key to his plan and he had to obtain it first.
He tugged the sword on his waist and walked outside.

On the desolate desert, under the intense heat, Leon was guarding the entrance of a small hut, created from rocks and debris. The hut looked peculiar and out of place, considering it was right in the middle of nowhere.
Leon, with a bored expression on his face, extended his hands out and summoned a pitch-black flame, lighting it near his fingertips. The flames flickered silently, releasing icy mana around his body. The black flames were unique, capable of freezing any objects in a split second with their extreme coldness. They weren’t hot like the usual fire, and unlike them, the black flames released coldness rather than warmth.
The black flames were a common trait among the extreme yin races with a darkness affinity, like shadows, dark elves, etc. Leon had summoned the dark-flames simply to tackle the intense heat, released from the sun high-above.
He fiddled with the flames, trying to change their form using his imagination.

" A rabbit? The ears are a bit too small for it, try again." A voice echoed from his behind, announcing their presence before him. He followed the voice’s suggestion and extended its ears, forming the shape of a rabbit.
"Good job." Cassian smiled, patting his shoulders. He told him to return back and continue his training with Zayn.

"Now, I need to find what was inside the eye of the storm." He put on his black cloak and mask, covering his body entirely to prevent the sand from entering through.
Exiting the hut, he made his way outside.
"Where the fuck is the storm?!" His shout resonated around the desert, spreading far and wide. The intense sandstorm from before had vanished completely without any trace, almost as if it was never there.
A simple nap from before did wonders to him and his sanity. He was even questioning whether he was truly alive or simply dreaming?
’Wait–! Was the storm caused by this bastard?!" His gaze landed on the sword, which was dangling quietly on his waist. He was already certain that Genesis had caused the storm, to simply lure him in and trap him on its illusion.
"Son of a Bitch, I was playing within his palms all along. The moment I had stepped foot in this desert, He’d probably sensed my presence and had formulated a plan to lure me using my greed." His mind wandered, thinking about everything that had happened till now.
He was never a gullible fellow but a scheming rat.
"What if all those talk about inheritor and owner was just nonsense too? What if he was simply using me to escape from this dungeon?" He immediately became alert.
"System, Are you sure he’s not spying on me?"
[Yes, Genesis is currently under deep slumber from the aftereffect of the curse.]
"Hmm...I can’t be too sure for now. The killing intent from before was probably an act too to lower my guard and prevent me from thinking too much. Damn this bastard!" He spewed few curses at him, not forgetting how he was scammed.
He knew that Divinities could never be trusted but this was too much. Even in the novel, Lucian was under the scrutiny of the Divinities but they never truly scammed him. They just made things troublesome for him and later, even decided to help him in his cause.
In the novel, there were few mysterious beings who rarely showed their presence, always acting through the shadows. Divinities and Profanities were among those beings, all-powerful and extremely manipulative.
"I feel slightly regretful in not completing the novel. Had I known that I would be reincarnated here, I would have surely completed it."
Although Voidstar Chronicles was a good novel, he had other priorities at that time and couldn’t read it entirely. It was also the reason, he found Genesis unfamiliar since, Genesis, as a Divinity, should have been introduced in the latter half of the story.
This dungeon was holding a lot of mystery than he gave it credit for. A broken piece of cosmic artifact, a sealed divinity, etc, these are something even the gods and devils would kill for. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"I’m getting distracted again. My current priority is to obtain the Orb of Elementus." He lightly slapped himself, reminding himself of his main objective.
After sorting out the gathered information, he continued his journey toward the center of the island.
The path was long and tiring, sometimes he would walk for hours without any rest, while sometimes he had to take cover from the heat, that was literally melting the rocky mountains with its intense heatwave.
After a tiring journey of a week, he finally arrived at the entrance of a luscious forest, filled with vitality and life. The forest was massive, spanning thousands of miles, similar to the desert that he just escaped from, and it was densely packed with greenery. The trees were entirely green, the grasses were green, the flowers, the bushes, everything was green. Even the few animals that he had encountered were darkish green, almost like goblins and orcs.
"Before, it was all yellow and brown in the desert and now, it’s all green. Is this an island themed on each color?" He thought, narrowing his eyes. The author hadn’t mentioned anything about this in his novel.
He noticed a few green rabbits hopping around, green foxes lurking near the rabbits and even green birds chirping atop a tree. The tree was entirely green from its bark, branches, leaves, and even roots.
"I feel the odd one now, wearing this in the forest." He complained, changing his outfit to a more greenish tone. He also changed the cloak’s color to green and removed the mask and cap. His plan was to camouflage himself inside the forest and observe it for now.
