Chapter 83: Shy Nicholas~~

As Nicholas went out, he suddenly heard his wife’s words from behind, so low that he almost thought he was hearing things.

"Husband... You can check up on my wounds later."

He didn’t turn around and continued his way out. Still, he realized he could never understand women, especially a woman named Abigail. Wasn’t she acting all shy a while ago? How come she was inviting him to check up on her wounds?

Of course, it wasn’t like Nicholas was a saint or something. He had been acting cold and indifferent toward her because that was his nature. Aside from his mother, no one in this world mattered to him.

But now, this woman had thrust herself in his heart, forcibly making a vast space. He didn’t even know what to do anymore with her.

Should he treat her differently? Or should he start acting romantically?

A shiver went down his spine when Nicholas thought of the latter aspect. No, he could never force himself to act uncomfortably.

Sure, he had feelings for his wife and knew he had decided to keep her by his side, but that didn’t mean he would change himself.

What he had was just a simple crush or, like, it was merely the start of his emotions. He was at a point where he had turned into an innocent teenager who didn’t know how to act in front of his crush.

And now, the same woman was urging him to look at her wounds beneath her clothes?

Sorry, he didn’t want to think R R-rated stuff in his head, but he couldn’t help it. Who told this young woman to have such a charm that even lowered the walls around his heart?

"Uh... Nicholas?" Abigail got even more embarrassed. In her heart, she was finally feeling a slight sane. She was happy to see that she wasn’t feeling mania anymore.

And thus, she didn’t know how she should react to this husband of hers at all! If she were in the mania period, she would know what to do because she would do it without thinking twice! But now, she was prone to thinking twice or more than that in a go if she wanted to do something.

In short, her mania episode flew away for some reason. Could it be that her husband was taking medicine she wasn’t aware of? Maybe that was why she could never heal in her original world because no Nicholas was around!

En. That must be it. Why was she so sure? Because she would be a little bit sane enough whenever she wrote Nicholas in her novel.

Nicholas turned toward her slightly, looking at her for a moment. Then he pursed his lips and walked out without saying another word. Abigail would have never figured out his genuine emotions if not for the reddened tips of his ears.

She watched the man rushing out of the room as if his tail was on fire with widened eyes. When the door was finally closed, she started laughing.

"Oh, my God! Even a man like Nicholas can be shy!" She laughed so much that a hint of pain throbbed in her stomach, where she got the burns from that hot drink.

She flinched. "Ow, ow, ow!"

She frowned and lifted her clothes, glancing at her bandaged stomach.

Now that her brain was finally acting correctly, she could at least think in a logical manner.

First, she entered her own novel world without any signs. She probably died in her world.

After thinking about it, she felt a little bit sad. How could she not be sad when that asylum had been her home all her life?

She sighed and pulled out her phone, jotting down the point she had just thought of hurriedly before her mania returned, rendering her brain useless.

Second, the events of this world were not exactly a copy of her novel, and she had noticed a few moments when the storyline turned slightly strange compared to what she wrote. For example, she never knew that the original villain was yearning for her mother’s affection when she only wrote that she hated her mom about ’Abigail’ in the novel.

Third. Someone was killing people on her behalf and making the same skull origami that she had thought of and wrote in her novel.

So a serial murderer was out here, and he had even been killing people around her! Specifically, the people who troubled her.

At this moment, Abigail’s brows furrowed as she glanced at her injury. Would someone die again?

Her heart sank when she realized the possibility of someone dying once again was high. She didn’t remember that person’s face, but her mother-in-law should know something, right?

She nodded and jotted it down to remind herself to ask Rosa about it.

Fourth. Who was this killer?

There were two possibilities: first, it could be someone like her, who had possibly read her novel. But how was that possible? She hadn’t even shown it to her nurse and doctor! There was no one else in this entire world who had read it!

So she scratched that possibility and frowned.

Someone from this world had replaced her, and it should be someone around her. Who could it be?

At this point, she didn’t know whether the killer was a male or a female or if that person was acting alone or in a group. She wanted to jot down all the possibilities.

Thus, she made a list of people she knew, starting with her husband. She even wrote down the name of the driver she had been given and the butler. After writing them all, her brows furrowed even more.

This way, she knew she couldn’t find that person at all!

Then, what should she do from here on out? Just as she was thinking about it, her door was knocked.

She shut her phone and got up, walking toward the door. But when she opened it, she was surprised to see Nicholas standing right in front of her with his lips pressed in a straight line.

She raised her brows and asked, "What’s up?"

"Well, I forgot to tell you something." Nicholas looked like whatever he was here to say; he clearly didn’t want to, but he was forced to for some reason. His constipated face didn’t remain for long as he blurted out, "I’m gonna send you to Asher’s country for a few months."
