The Villainess Cannot Escape — Five Beast Husbands Chase Her Madly-Chapter 71: Sudden Aberration, Night Abyss’s Final Frenzy
Night Abyss swallowed the blood in his throat and forced a relaxed smile. "I’m really fine!"
"Look at me." Su An’an suddenly grabbed his collar. Though filmed over and vacant, her eyes locked precisely in his direction. "Tell me the truth."
The only sound in the cave was the SIZZLE of poisonous blood corroding the ground.
Night Abyss was silent for a long moment before averting his gaze and saying softly,
"I’m really fine!"
"After I search their memories, I’ll take you somewhere safe. Stand aside for now. Don’t let the poisonous blood touch you."
With a sweep of his Bone Wings, he cleared away the smoking, rotten flesh, creating a clean patch of ground.
Su An’an sighed, her hand tracing its way up his tense arm to his shoulder, her fingertips brushing over a bulging vein. "Their venom must have come from the Mutant Beast mastermind." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
She paused, her voice softening. "Once the poison is cured, I can help soothe you."
"Just worry about yourself first."
Night Abyss pressed Su An’an’s cool palm against his own heaving chest. The scalding beat of his heart thudded against her palm through his scales. "As long as you’re here, this heart still belongs to me."
Su An’an was so moved her eyelashes trembled, but her filmed-over eyes turned toward the Beast Soldiers’ corpses. "Then tear a hole in their memories."
’Rather than force him, it’s better to find a way to solve the problem.’
Night Abyss let out a low chuckle. From the stump of his right arm, inky-black tendrils surged out, wrapping precisely around the Lizard Beast Soldiers’ necks.
The moment the tips of the tendrils pierced their temples, streams of red light—their memories—surged into him.
Blinding images exploded within his crimson, slitted pupils.
"The Lizard Base is at Northeast Grey Mountain."
His brow furrowed, the fragments in his dark red pupils rapidly reassembling.
High walls of grayish-black stone, like the fangs of a colossal beast, encircled the forested encampment of the Bone-Eroding Lizard Beastmen.
Deep inside a mountain cave, within a giant, web-like nest built from the bones of their own kind...
...the slime-covered mastermind of the Heart-Eating Nightmare Spiders was greedily feeding on the flesh and blood of Lizard Beastmen.
Green venom, shimmering with a faint light, dripped from its fangs into a massive glass tank.
Their leader, Nieruo, wearing a crown inlaid with venom sacs, looked down from above.
The horrifying screams of the old, weak, sick, and crippled Lizard Beastmen as they were pushed into the spider’s nest mingled with the hissing of the spider swarm.
Lizard Beast Soldiers used blood-stained fingers to smear the mastermind’s venom onto their scales.
In an instant, the savage Heart-Eating Nightmare Spiders became completely docile toward them.
Another batch of sealed venom canisters was sent to the Rebel Army in exchange for High Level Females to propagate their species.
"Using their own kin’s lives to feed the Heart-Eating Nightmare Spider’s mastermind... these Lizard Beastmen deserve to die!"
A dark purple, toxic mist rose from Night Abyss’s body, and the Bone Spikes on his Bone Wings trembled uncontrollably.
"Night Abyss! If I can get the raw venom from the Heart-Eating Nightmare Spider’s mastermind, I can create an antidote!" Su An’an fumbled for his arm, her filmed-over eyes flashing with a faint light, her voice overflowing with irrepressible ecstasy. "Whether it’s for me or the other poisoned females, we can all be saved!"
Night Abyss looked down, gazing at her pale, upturned face. His Bone Wings folded in unconsciously, completely enveloping her in his shadow.
A moment later, a low laugh erupted from his chest, shaking the cave walls and causing pebbles to fall. "I was just about to settle the score with them anyway."
His crimson, slitted pupils turned to the northeast, his tone laced with rolling thunder. "Nieruo, you’re next. You and that shameful ’God’ of yours can burn to ashes in my wrath!"
’The line was a bit cringey, but Su An’an loved it.’
Just then, the silent corpse of Bone Splitter suddenly made a grating sound of bone scraping against bone that set one’s teeth on edge.
A dwarf Lizard Beastman shot out from the corpse, spitting foul-smelling spider silk that instantly wrapped around Night Abyss’s neck.
Night Abyss immediately shielded Su An’an behind him. He formed a claw with his right hand to slash at the silk, only to be forcefully repelled.
"Didn’t see that coming, did you, Executor?"
The dwarf Lizard Beastman let out a shrill, bizarre laugh as his sharp claws plunged into Night Abyss’s wound. Dark green spider toxin injected from his fingertips. "This is the essence of the Heart-Eating Nightmare Spider’s mastermind! From now on, you will be my puppet!"
Night Abyss’s body trembled violently. Dark purple flames flickered beneath his skin, trying to burn away the invading toxin.
His pupils gradually lost focus. His Bone Wings drooped listlessly, and he fell to one knee.
Seeing this, the dwarf Lizard Beastman threw his head back and laughed triumphantly. The rock wall behind him suddenly split open, and a dense swarm of small Heart-Eating Nightmare Spiders poured out.
However, just as the toxin was about to reach his heart, the scales on Night Abyss’s body suddenly shot up, and dark purple markings spread across his entire frame like lightning.
He snapped his head up, his eyes erupting with a bloody light hotter than magma.
The pressure of his third semi-berserk transformation swept through the entire cave like a tsunami!
"GET LOST!" Night Abyss’s voice was no longer human.
He tore apart the silk around his neck with his bare hands. From the stump of his severed left arm, countless black tendrils surged out, pouncing on the dwarf Lizard Beastman like a pack of starving wolves.
Sharp claws clashed with a Bone Blade, creating a blinding shower of sparks.
The dwarf Lizard Beastman discovered in terror that the toxin he had injected into Night Abyss was actually fueling his opponent’s power!
The moment his Bone Wings unfurled, the cave was dyed blood-red.
Night Abyss became an incarnation of death itself. Wherever he went, the Heart-Eating Nightmare Spiders exploded into a mist of blood.
The dwarf Lizard Beastman was pierced through by the black tendrils and completely incinerated by purple flames.
Night Abyss staggered and dropped to one knee. The dark purple markings on his skin flickered, like embers about to be extinguished, only to flare up again.
He gripped the rock wall tightly, his knuckles digging deep into the cracks. Loose stones crumbled and fell, but it did nothing to alleviate the magma-like power surging within him.
The aftereffects of his third berserk transformation were still raging, and every inch of his bones groaned under the strain.
"Night Abyss!" The moment Su An’an’s trembling fingertips touched his skin, he violently pulled her into his embrace.
Night Abyss’s arms clamped around her like iron shackles.
His breath, smelling of rust, washed over the top of her head as he tried to crush her very being into his chest.
"I’m taking you to the Lizard Base right now."
His voice was broken and hoarse, each word sounding as if it were being gouged from his throat. "I only have three hours of clarity left. After this berserk transformation, I might be trapped in this bestial form forever."
Su An’an tilted her face up. Though filmed over and empty, her eyes shone with a searing light.
She fumbled to press herself against his heaving chest, then suddenly opened her mouth and bit down on his collarbone. The salty, metallic taste of blood burst from between her teeth and spread through her mouth. "Then let’s go mad together."
Her nails dug deep into his back, scraping against his scales with a harsh sound. "I want you to live, even if you become a monster..." Her lips brushed past his ear, her voice filled with the resolve of one burning their bridges. "...you can only be *my* monster!"
Night Abyss’s entire body trembled violently, a suppressed growl escaping his throat.
Reason and beastly instinct clashed violently in his crimson, slitted pupils. Finally, he lowered his head and crushed his lips against hers.
The taste of blood exploded between their lips.
His Bone Wings spread with a ROAR, the resulting shockwave sending the surrounding debris flying.
Outside, acid rain poured down in torrents, yet it could not extinguish the dark purple flames burning at the edges of his Bone Wings.
The moment he took to the sky with Su An’an in his arms, a trail of burning footprints was seared into the scorched earth, like a declaration of war left by Death itself, pointing directly toward the Lizard Base.
