The Villainess Cannot Escape — Five Beast Husbands Chase Her Madly-Chapter 152: Alita is Deceived
After ending his communication with Raymond, Louis tilted his head back and downed the red wine in one gulp.
The dim, cold light cast an eerie shadow on his dark Evil Ghost Mask, and the entire room was filled with a dangerous aura.
Just then, his communicator rang again. An Evil Ghost avatar for Lord Red popped up on the crimson interface.
Louis’s heart skipped a beat. His face turned pale in an instant as he tremblingly accepted the communication.
"You’ve disappointed me greatly! I even gave you the Holy Artifact of the Destiny Snake, yet you still let Su An’an escape while escorting her to Black Star!"
Lord Red’s voice was low and icy, like a judgment from Hell itself. "For this failure, you will pay a price in blood!"
Louis’s throat bobbed, and cold sweat beaded on his temples. He knelt on the floor and said urgently:
"My lord, please calm your anger! I’ve already thought of a way to deal with Su An’an!"
"Su An’an is currently the center of attention in the Empire. I plan to make her clash with the Alliance."
"The Alliance President’s daughter is a huge fan of Su An’an’s Beast Husband. I just need to leak some ’inside information’ suggesting that the Swan Beastman’s miserable fate was Su An’an’s doing. The Empire and the Alliance will inevitably come to blows over her!"
"A little interesting! If you can really incite a fight between the Alliance and the Empire, that would be more interesting than catching Jiu Su."
Lord Red raised an eyebrow. The blood-red mist around him swirled, taking the form of a two-headed snake.
"My lord is wise. That’s what I was thinking as well."
Louis’s heart leaped with joy, and he looked up fawningly.
But unexpectedly, the two-headed snake of blood-red mist behind Lord Red suddenly stared intently at him. The pressure was so immense he could barely breathe.
"Hmph! Your death sentence may be pardoned, but your punishment is inescapable!"
A vial appeared in his palm, decorated with a design of Snake Teeth biting a skull. He abruptly crushed it.
"The punishment for this failure is the suspension of your Divine Medicine supply!"
Louis’s face went deathly pale. Round, leopard-print red spots appeared on the back of his hand—a sign of losing control and undergoing beastification after the medicine was cut off.
He collapsed to the ground in agony, his voice choked with sobs. "My lord! Please, give me one more chance! I’ll get it done right!"
Lord Red looked down on him condescendingly, his voice from behind the mask dripping with contempt. "I’ve given you too many chances."
"If you fail again this time, you can just wait for death!"
With that, the holographic projection vanished abruptly.
Like an addict in withdrawal, Louis curled up on the floor, groaning in pain. The leopard-print red spots on the back of his hand squirmed as if they were alive.
He suddenly burst into maniacal laughter, his knuckles digging deep into his palm.
"I can’t die! I have to protect Alita!"
"Those bastards are all coveting her! I’m going to rip their throats out!"
His crimson beast eyes stared fixedly in the direction of the medical bay as he staggered to his feet, muttering to himself.
"I need to wake Alita up early. She’s the best weapon to use against Su An’an."
He quickly washed away all traces of his pathetic state, then forced a gentle and considerate smile in the mirror before entering the medical bay to shut down the treatment pod early.
"It’s not time yet. Why did the treatment end early?"
Alita stepped out of the treatment pod, pressing a hand to her forehead. Her blue cat-like eyes were misty.
"Something came up."
Louis helped Alita sit down and said in a heavy voice:
"While the Third Princess was leading a team to visit the Mad Beast Institute, a Mutated Beast Tide suddenly broke out..."
"What?"
Alita’s eyes flew wide open, her blue, cat-like pupils contracting violently. Her voice trembled uncontrollably.
"A Mutated Beast Tide in the Imperial City? Is Anan okay?!"
Louis lowered his gaze to hide the calculating look in his eyes, feigning worry as he said:
"The Third Princess is fine, but there was a small incident. She’s now a guest on Northern Black Star, so the matter of her investiture as a Duke has been postponed." 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"Northern Black Star? But that’s a lawless zone! And it has that notorious slave market. Why would Anan go there?"
Alita shot to her feet, but staggered from not being fully healed.
She reached out and grabbed Louis’s arm tightly, her fingertips nearly digging into his flesh, her eyes filled with anxiety.
"Don’t worry. The Third Princess’s four Beast Husbands are all on Northern Black Star. They’ll protect Su An’an."
Louis said, gently patting Alita’s back.
"Anan’s four Beast Husbands are up to no good. They were always trying to divorce her before, and now they’re involved with that streamer, Jiu Su."
"They definitely won’t do their best to protect her."
"No, I have to go find Anan."
Alita struggled violently but couldn’t stop herself from covering her mouth and coughing.
A sickly flush appeared on her pale cheeks, and her Ragdoll cat-like ears drooped limply.
"Don’t get so agitated, you might have a relapse."
Louis patted her back nervously, comforting her in a soft voice:
"The Third Princess is all grown up now. You should learn to let go and not worry about her so much."
"What do you know?"
Alita shot Louis an angry glare, her eyes welling with tears.
"Anan was separated from her father at birth, the Mother Empress was busy with state affairs, and our Eldest Imperial Sister is a love-struck fool. I was the one who raised her."
"She was so smart, well-behaved, and adorable, with the greatest potential and talent, but she was sabotaged during her adult evolution and fell to the level of a Wasted Female."
She choked on her words, her voice broken and trembling.
"It’s all my fault. As her sister, I didn’t protect her well enough."
"Your Highness, you were gravely injured back then. You were lying in a medical pod and almost didn’t make it. How could it be your fault?"
Though his words were comforting, his hands gripped Alita’s shoulders tightly, as if to chain her to his side.
"In any case, you haven’t recovered yet. You mustn’t get too agitated."
"I won’t let Anan be in danger again. I must protect her. Prepare a Starship, I’m going to Black Star..."
Alita struggled to her feet, only to collapse weakly again.
Seeing Alita’s shaky and frail state, Louis put on an expression of anxiety and heartache as he held her steady with both hands.
"Stop trying to act tough. Your body can’t take this."
Alita stubbornly raised her head, her eyes filled with determination. "I’m fine. I have to go to Black Star and bring Anan back."
Louis sighed, gently helped Alita to a chair, and took her hand softly.
"I know you’re worried about the Third Princess, but in your current condition, even if you went to Black Star, you’d only distract her by making her take care of you."
"I, however, have a way to ensure the Third Princess’s safety without you having to risk yourself personally."
Alita’s blue cat-like eyes lit up instantly. She asked eagerly:
"What is it? Tell me, quick!"
Louis lowered his voice, putting on a mysterious and cautious expression.
"I have some reliable contacts on Black Star. As long as they have the Third Princess’s Royal Badge as a token, they can find a way to get her out safely."
"The Princess Badge represents the royal bloodline. When my contacts see the badge, they will surely do everything in their power to help."
As he spoke, he gently stroked the back of Alita’s hand.
"Your Highness, please entrust the badge to me. I will definitely bring the Third Princess back to you, safe and sound!"
