The Villainess Cannot Escape — Five Beast Husbands Chase Her Madly-Chapter 151: The Admirer of Seville, the Swan Beastman
"That’s right. Anan’s already drawing too much attention." Ying Jiuyao immediately reined in his jealousy and nodded seriously, though his tail swept restlessly across the ground.
"We can’t let those bastards find out that Anan’s real identity is..."
"My real identity is what?"
Su An’an whipped her head around, her questioning gaze sweeping over them like a searchlight.
Ying Jiuyao went rigid. His tail instantly stiffened into an iron rod, and his Adam’s apple bobbed with a hard swallow.
He shot a desperate look at Fei Zhao from the corner of his eye, screaming internally, ’You cunning fox! Save me!’
"The future Duke, of course!"
Fei Zhao instantly transformed into an elegant gentleman, extinguishing the Fox Fire around him with a curl of his tail.
"If the people on Black Star found out you plan to take over their whole territory, there’s no telling what those mad dogs might do!"
"Right, right, right! That’s exactly what I meant!"
Ying Jiuyao nodded profusely, secretly wiping the sweat from his tiger paws behind his back.
Night Abyss’s black mist receded like the tide. He said in a deep voice, "Success hinges on secrecy. Until Anan secures the title of Duke and the authority of the Governor, we must keep her identity under tight wraps."
Su An’an eyed her four Beast Husbands, each with a different expression, before finally shrugging. "Fine. We’ll do it your way."
"Don’t worry, Anan. There’s no way Black Star can trace this back to us."
Fei Zhao’s tail coiled obediently at Su An’an’s feet.
The other three Beast Husbands’ tense shoulders relaxed in unison.
"Alright, stop looking so tense!"
Su An’an tossed an Energy Gemstone up and down like a marble.
"It’s not like anyone from Black Star planted a bug on us. The priority right now is to clear out all these goodies!"
With that, she turned and left the warehouse to get help from the Cow Beasts.
The moment the door closed, Fei Zhao’s claws shot out, whipping through the air straight for Ying Jiuyao’s face.
Ying Jiuyao scrambled backward to dodge, flushing with anger and embarrassment. "You red-furred fox! Are you insane?"
"Remember that you owe me for cleaning up your mess."
A tendril of Night Abyss’s draconic black mist suddenly snaked around Ying Jiuyao’s ankle.
An Ice Cone from Lan Cangming whistled past his ear, gouging a frozen hole in the wall.
"If you can’t keep your mouth shut next time, I’ll freeze your tongue into an icicle."
Lan Cangming offered an elegant smile, but a chill rolled off the hem of his military uniform.
Surrounded by the three intimidating beasts, Ying Jiuyao could only raise his paws in surrender. "I was wrong! I owe you all for this one!"
By the time Su An’an returned with Hosen and the other Cow Clan warriors,
Fei Zhao was calmly adjusting Ying Jiuyao’s collar.
Night Abyss was examining an iron chest on the floor.
Lan Cangming was covering the signs of their scuffle with a thin layer of ice.
The Four Great Beast Husbands looked perfectly composed, as if the tense, hostile scene from moments before had never occurred.
"Let’s move it!"
Su An’an shot them a look with a raised eyebrow before turning to give the Cow Clan warriors their orders.
Hosen grunted in acknowledgment and, with a wave of his large hand, the brawny Cow Clan warriors began moving with disciplined efficiency, hoisting and hauling.
In the blink of an eye, the mountain of rare herbs, ores, and other supplies piled in the warehouse was completely cleared out.
With a sharp whistle from Fei Zhao, flames erupted toward the sky, sending thick smoke billowing upward.
The underground Alchemy Room, once a place of great evil, was reduced to blackened ruins in the inferno.
By the time they returned to the Waste Female Safety House, moonlight bathed the plaza.
Su An’an stood on the steps, watching as the injured groundhogs and Pink Rabbits were helped into medical pods.
Suddenly, the sound of orderly footsteps approached from behind.
"Princess, please teach us!"
Niu Biqi and Niu Xueli led a group of females to kneel on one knee, their gazes blazing with determination.
"We don’t want to be useless burdens hiding behind others anymore!"
Niu Xueli’s eyes reddened as she recalled the female members of the Pink Rabbit Clan in the underground Alchemy Room, violated and unable to fight back.
"You said it yourself—the only way to protect ourselves is to become stronger!"
Su An’an’s gaze swept across their young but resolute faces, reminding her of her own arduous journey from an F-Level Wasted Female to her current standing.
She gestured for them to rise, her voice carrying a power that set their hearts at ease. "I will give you everything I have. But there are no shortcuts to becoming strong. It will cost you scars, tears, and even blood."
"But when the day comes that you can stand in the sun and proudly say, ’I am no longer afraid,’ you will know that every sacrifice was worth it."
The night wind swept past, carrying her words into every person’s heart.
In eyes that were once timid, a fire called "hope" now burned brightly.
「Three days later, in the Black Star Governance Hall.」
The ornate crystal chandelier swayed violently from the force of a blow.
"Twenty-seven underground slave markets and all the inventory in my warehouse—gone! Who the hell did this?"
Governor Raymond shattered the desktop with a single slam of his hand, his golden-red mane bristling like a bonfire.
Blood mixed with wood splinters dripped from his lion claws, leaving a gruesome stain on the luxurious carpet.
His adjutant, trembling all over, dropped to his knees. "Governor, the initial investigation suggests that the native Beastmen discovered the apothecary’s plot to frame them. They banded together and destroyed the slave markets."
"There were many Beastmen among the slaves who were skilled in construction. It’s possible they’re the ones who located the warehouse..."
"Idiot!"
Raymond’s roar made the chandelier’s crystals rattle. "Those natives don’t even know how to use a Particle Gun! Where would they get the nerve to orchestrate an operation of this scale? There has to be another power backing them."
Raymond suddenly narrowed his beast-like eyes, and even the scent of blood in the air seemed to turn bone-chilling. ’Could it be... the Third Princess, Su An’an.’
The adjutant’s eyes widened. "Governor, it must be her Beast Husbands."
"Our slaver ship was the one that brought Su An’an to Black Star. She hasn’t shown her face since she disappeared."
"It’s possible her Beast Husbands are targeting us to vent their anger."
"Enough. I understand. You’re dismissed."
Raymond paced to the floor-to-ceiling window. He gazed out at the neon-drenched vice of Black Star City, the corner of his mouth twisting into a cold smirk."
After a long moment of contemplation, he opened an encrypted channel on his holographic communicator: Lord Li.
A holographic projection flickered to life.
In the projection, Louis, wearing an Evil Ghost Mask, swirled a crystal goblet. The crimson liquid inside rippled dangerously. "Raymond, don’t put on that pathetic, kicked-dog look. It’s just the Four Great Beast Husbands and a few dilapidated Empire Battleships."
"Cut the crap! The main cannons of the Empire Battleships are aimed at Black Star right now!"
Raymond slammed his hand on the shattered, ornate desk, his beast-like eyes glowing with a bloodthirsty red light.
"Then we’ll have to muddy the waters!"
Louis set down his glass, a sharp smirk playing on his lips.
"Isn’t the Alliance President’s precious daughter visiting Black Star?" he asked. "I hear she’s a rabid fan of Su An’an’s Swan Beastman, and she despises Su An’an for ’silencing his voice’?"
A calculating glint appeared in his eyes.
"All we have to do is leak a little ’insider information’ that the Swan Beastman’s tragic fate was all Su An’an’s doing..."
Raymond’s beast ears twitched, and a vicious glint appeared in his eyes. "You mean, use the Alliance as a weapon to kill Su An’an?"
He suddenly let out a savage laugh, grinding his claws into his palm until sparks flew. "A brilliant idea! Once the Alliance and the Empire go to war over Su An’an, Black Star can just sit back and reap the rewards!"
"Remember,"
Louis leaned closer to the holographic projection, his gaze like a poison-tipped dagger.
"You need to make that young lady believe she’s avenging her idol. That way, even if the truth comes out, it will be chalked up to an internal Alliance conflict."
He raised his glass, giving Raymond a mock toast.
"Play your part well. When this storm blows over, Black Star will be the new hegemon of the interstellar black market!"
