Chapter 1100: Chapter 1100: The Master Also Has Weaknesses

Sea View Pavilion isn’t far from Tsinghua University, and Shawn Norton had arranged to meet there within the university grounds. Nathalie Quinlan had visited Tsinghua University previously for an exam and once when looking for Jackson Wafford, but she wasn’t particularly familiar with the campus.

Thankfully, Shawn had sent her the office location via GPS.

She followed the directions all the way there.

Once she arrived, she raised her hand to knock lightly on the office door.

"Come in."

Shawn’s voice came from inside the office. He sounded busy.

Nathalie strolled in casually, only to see him buried in a mountain of teaching materials, bustling around frantically.

Besides Shawn, a few other Music Department teachers were also in the office, helping him out. When they saw Nathalie enter, they exchanged knowing glances with Shawn and said, "Mr. Norton, your student’s here; we’ll head out now."

The news about Shawn taking on a personal student had long since circulated within the Music Department at Tsinghua University, so everyone immediately understood the situation when they saw Nathalie.

As they left, they thoughtfully closed the door behind them. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Shawn had been busy organizing the teaching materials he’d need for the new semester—a rare occurrence for him in recent years. It was driving him to the brink. But when he spotted Nathalie arriving, he quickly beckoned her over, his graying hair framing his kind and gentle face as he said, "Nathalie, you’re here. Come and help me figure out this PPT. How do you even use this?"

For decades, Shawn had been completely focused on music. He loved traditional, cultural pieces and was admittedly rather nostalgic, which often left him struggling to adapt to modern trends.

He had initially agreed with Jackson Wafford to return to teaching once Nathalie started at Tsinghua University. What he hadn’t anticipated was how much teaching had changed from the way he remembered it.

Nowadays, teachers weren’t just writing on blackboards; they also had to create teaching PowerPoints.

The computer Tsinghua University had assigned him was awful—it was continuously freezing, and no matter how long he spent on it, he couldn’t get his materials sorted out.

Thinking of Nathalie’s expertise in these matters, Shawn decided to ask if she could help, and since she happened to be nearby, he shot her a quick message to come over.

He hadn’t expected Nathalie to arrive so quickly.

"And this computer—can you take a look at it for me? Every time I try to upload an image, it inexplicably disappears, and I keep getting random error notifications..."

Shawn had spent his whole life coasting effortlessly through obstacles, but this time, a simple set of teaching tasks had nearly defeated him. He stepped aside to create room for Nathalie.

Nathalie adjusted her cap’s brim and walked over. "Let me take a look."

Her voice was deep.

Firm and resonant.

It inspired an inexplicable sense of trust.

Since he wasn’t familiar with this tech stuff, Shawn watched as Nathalie took a seat and fully took over the process. He didn’t hesitate to go and pour her a glass of water.

Standing nearby, he observed the girl calmly fixing his computer, then seemingly thought of something and asked, "By the way, will you be going on stage at the opening ceremony this year?"

He was aware of the situation with the Chinese Medicine Department—they couldn’t find anyone suitable.

Sure enough.

With an air of nonchalance, the girl responded with a casual "Mm," as she continued clearing out the computer’s error prompts.

Shawn furrowed his eyebrows tightly. "Is that confirmed?"

He’d heard rumors circulating about how the Clinical Department intended to pull off a major stunt during the opening ceremony, determined to steal the spotlight.

Though Shawn wasn’t sure what exactly the Clinical Department had planned, he knew Adelle Wafford’s focus was on directly targeting the Chinese Medicine Department, which was likely to provoke some serious dissatisfaction.

After all, Nathalie would be staying at Tsinghua University for her studies. Starting off by clashing with Adelle might not be too big a concern, but it certainly wouldn’t be pleasant to deal with.

"I think so," Nathalie replied after checking his computer thoroughly. When she found out the disk in the desktop’s main system was damaged, she stopped fiddling with it and looked up to explain, "This computer needs a replacement part. I’ll make a copy of the data stored inside for you and help you get a new computer later."
