the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 835: Living Like the Elderly Ahead of Time
Delphine raised her eyes to look at his handsome profile. Undeniably, over these years, she could only get used to him, unable to accept any other man’s closeness. But she had fallen twice with this man, both times being abandoned heartlessly by him.
Although she couldn’t bring herself to hate the person she liked since youth, she didn’t dare to love him again. Upon learning of his dual personality and that Magnus Leclair had awakened, she was even joyful, indulging in a warm and carefree life with him, just like an ordinary couple. Yet, this indulgence eventually came to an end.
"It’s time to sleep." The man glanced at the time, said softly, removed the book from the quilt, and tucked her into the blanket.
The rational conversation once again broke down.
Finding him unyielding and insistent on staying with her, Delphine decided to endure to the end.
The quilt sank a bit as the man got onto the bed, holding her tightly in his arms.
"Don’t touch me, I’m tired and want to sleep." She raised her face, looking at his eyes bright like cold stars, and said fiercely.
The man gazed at her for a while, making sure she was being willfully spoiled, nodded, turned off the light, and indeed didn’t touch her, just held her to sleep.
The mountain was uncommonly quiet. After eating and looking at an art catalog for a while, Delphine couldn’t sleep at all, sneering internally. Ignatius Leclair turned out to be too dull, living a retired lifestyle. As she grumbled inwardly, thinking of all sorts of escape methods, she drowsily fell asleep.
The next day, she was awakened by the man’s kiss. At dawn, his inherent predatory nature was unusually dangerous. Delphine awoke with a jolt, unable to recover her senses for quite some time.
Now, deep down, her body was overwhelmed with fatigue, wanting to sleep 20 hours a day. Fortunately, Ignatius Leclair still had some sense, not reducing her to a wreck.
"Heavy." Her voice was hoarse as she uncomfortably pushed the man, looking rather impatient.
The man said hoarsely, "Your throat’s dry, have some water to soothe it."
As he spoke, he stretched his long arm, fetched water, and fed it to her.
Delphine lay in the soft blanket, her whole body not only devoid of strength but also feeling a sour sensation, profoundly uncomfortable. Supported half-sitting by the man to drink water, she regained a bit of strength.
"Uncomfortable." She was genuinely uncomfortable, clutching the blanket beneath her, pulling away to the side, her face pale, entirely unwell.
The man’s expression changed subtly, putting down the cup, and pulled her over, massaging her sore arms, saying hoarsely, "Massage a bit more, and you’ll feel better."
The medicine she took made her limbs weak and powerless, the man’s gentlest method to restrict her freedom.
As long as he wasn’t around, Delphine couldn’t even step out of the house.
Yet, he didn’t know she would feel this uncomfortable. The man furrowed his brow, tenderly helping her massage, but after that, she felt better while Ignatius Leclair felt immensely uncomfortable, his body tense like iron.
Delphine regained some strength, noticing his heavy breathing, the increase in ambient temperature, hastily shrank back, saying hoarsely, "I’ll sleep a bit more, don’t disturb me."
After speaking, Delphine turned her back to him, continuing to sleep.
The man looked at her silently for a while, a dark flash passing through his eyes, then got up to take a cold shower in the bathroom.
