Chapter 814: Chapter 814: A Gallery Date with Brother-in-Law?

After driving off Constantine Stewart and Jocelyn Yeager, Delphine finally breathed a sigh of relief. Jocelyn’s constant visits were really affecting the film’s progress.

Luckily, the film had already been in production for a week. Since it was an indoor suspense drama, there was no need for location scouting or grand scenes. It relied entirely on the exquisite acting of the actors and the details and plot twists in the script, allowing for a relatively fast shooting pace.

Delphine estimated that with about a month more of shooting, they would wrap up. Afterward, it would all depend on editing and post-production to achieve the film’s effect.

A week later was the opening ceremony of Emily Thorne’s art gallery.

Delphine temporarily handed over the film’s shooting to the assistant director, Lucian Bates, and then took Chloe Winston to Emily Thorne’s gallery.

"Delphine, why are we going to the gallery out of the blue? And why are you dressed so beautifully?"

In public, Chloe called Delphine "Director Gu," but in private, she always referred to her as "sister." Seeing Delphine in a dark teal silk long dress with her hair lazily tied back, exuding a gentle aloofness and a cold beauty, Chloe’s eyes lit up as she clung to her arm and said, "Are you having a gallery date with your brother-in-law? No, that doesn’t make sense if you brought me along."

Delphine smiled slightly and said calmly, "I heard the gallery is pretty good, so I came to have a look. Ignatius Leclair quite likes paintings."

"I’ll help you choose," Chloe immediately offered, patting her chest. "I’ve worked in a gallery before, so I know a bit about it."

"Why are you working everywhere?" Delphine was a bit surprised and felt even more sympathy for the young girl.

"To save money, of course," Chloe said with a carefree smile, her big eyes blinking. She grew up in a welfare home and matured earlier than her peers. Working everywhere was her way of achieving financial independence as soon as possible.

Emily Thorne’s gallery was called "A Romantic Encounter in a Time of Bloom." It had just opened, and aside from inviting a renowned artist to preside, the first three days featured an exhibition to promote the gallery’s brand.

Delphine chose the third day of the gallery’s opening, generally when fewer people were around and most of the events were winding down.

When the two arrived at the gallery, there were indeed not many people. The entrance was adorned with fresh flowers, lined along the pathway, almost filling both sides of the road.

"With this location, opening a gallery like this— the owner must be quite affluent," Chloe remarked, a bit wistfully, as she observed the artistically styled gallery.

Delphine looked at the gallery, decorated in black, white, and gray tones, as they walked along the wooden steps inside. The large space was partitioned into several areas. Although not many paintings were exhibited, each group of paintings had a designated rest area with vintage wooden tables and chairs. The tea sets had a Japanese flair, complemented by crafted ornaments, creating a fresh and elegant ambiance.

As Delphine walked around, she noticed that the rest areas had distinct styles, arranged based on the mood and origin of the paintings— there were vintage, abstract, realistic, and pastoral styles. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

It was evident considerable thought had been put into it. It’s no wonder such an intelligent woman could maintain a fourteen-year relationship with Ignatius Leclair.

Delphine lowered her gaze slightly, her expression turning subtly indifferent. Perhaps every man wishes for a woman knowledgeable in poetry, wine, and art, especially since Ignatius Leclair’s birth mother is an artist. It’s likely in his nature to enjoy such things.

"Excuse me, do the ladies have a preference for any particular artist’s work? I can give you a brief introduction," a gentle voice suddenly arose from behind.
