The True Heiress is the Reserved Fiancé's Exclusive Memory-Chapter 470 - 481: Biological Mother (8)
"What you did was right." Aurora Cooper said irritably, "With such a vicious heart, no sentence would be too long. But why does your sister hate you so much?"
"Maybe she thinks I took something from her." Mia Ginger replied in a bland voice.
Aurora Cooper sighed with irritation, "Greed knows no bounds, like a snake trying to swallow an elephant. There really are all kinds of people in this world."
Mia Ginger gave a faint smile and said nothing more.
Aurora Cooper looked at her face, slightly blue from the cold, and felt even more pity. She changed the subject and chatted casually as they walked home.
It wasn’t actually far, and they arrived quickly.
The two changed their shoes at the entrance of the hall. Mia Ginger hesitated a bit and asked, "Wouldn’t it be inconvenient for the Chancellor to come in?"
"No, it’s fine." Aurora Cooper smiled, "Come in, it’s okay."
"Mhm." Mia Ginger crouched down, patted the Chancellor’s head and instructed, "Be good, stay close and don’t wander off."
"Haha." Aurora Cooper thought she seemed a bit more childish at this moment and couldn’t help but smile. She stepped toward the living room and, as she turned around, saw Mia Ginger stop suddenly, blushing and standing there dazed. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Aurora Cooper glanced in the direction of her gaze.
Bradley Cooper was coming down the stairs in a dark blue pajama set.
He naturally saw Mia Ginger and, with a surprised smile, said warmly, "Hello again, young lady."
"Hello." Mia Ginger looked at him, still a bit reserved.
"Don’t make the atmosphere so tense." Bradley Cooper laughed, "Sit wherever you like, there aren’t many people at home, no need to be nervous."
"Alright." Mia Ginger smiled with a slight curve of her lips.
Following Aurora Cooper, she sat on the sofa, and was invited to eat some fruit.
Aurora Cooper took off her coat, revealing a soft light-colored knit sweater underneath, sitting beside her, exuding even more elegance.
Perhaps worried she might get bored, she asked with a smile, "Would you like some tea? I can make some for you."
Mia Ginger was taken aback, "No need."
Aurora Cooper waved her hand, "I told you not to be so formal. I’m not busy anyway, just think of it as keeping me company. It’s warm indoors, take off your coat, you can put it back on when you leave."
Mia Ginger looked at her smiling face, nodded, and took off her coat.
She was wearing a beige thin sweater, sitting next to Aurora Cooper, smiling shyly, looking exceedingly well-behaved.
The side profile really looked similar.
Bradley Cooper stood at a short distance, glancing over with growing curiosity.
He stepped over to a single seat sofa at the side, and asked curiously, "How old are you, young lady?"
"Twenty." Mia Ginger replied.
"Twenty?" Bradley Cooper echoed, then asked, "What’s your birth month?"
"..."
Mia Ginger felt like he was conducting a census, hesitated a bit, "August twenty-third."
With a dull "pop" sound, the small teacup in Aurora Cooper’s hand fell onto the tea tray. She glanced at Mia Ginger in surprise and asked, "August twenty-third?"
"Mhm." Mia Ginger looked at the two with a puzzled expression.
"It’s nothing." Aurora Cooper quickly righted the teacup and smiled, "It’s just that it’s my daughter’s birthday too. Quite a coincidence."
Mia Ginger nodded, suddenly realizing she’d never seen her daughter, hesitatingly asked, "Your daughter?"
"She got lost when she was little and we never found her." Aurora Cooper lied.
Mia Ginger gave an apologetic smile.
Aurora Cooper stayed silent, seemingly lost in thought.
She skillfully brewed tea and asked the maid to prepare some small cookies, inviting Mia Ginger to taste them.
Mia Ginger didn’t have much appetite at noon but, unknowingly, ate quite a bit after sitting for a while.
