The True Heiress is the Reserved Fiancé's Exclusive Memory-Chapter 448 - 459 You Still Have Me (4)
As she expected, Koa Jackson was in the small kitchen, having already prepared breakfast.
Seeing her come out, he gently called out, "Just in time, come over and eat."
"What time did you get up?" Mia Ginger placed the breakfast on the table, looked up, and asked.
"Six o’clock," Koa Jackson replied with a smile, "I went for a run, and seeing you sleep so soundly, I didn’t want to wake you."
"Oh." Mia Ginger responded sullenly.
Koa Jackson glanced at her, silently stirred his coffee with a spoon twice, and inquired, "Grandpa wants me to bring you home for a visit. Do you want to go?"
"Eh?" Mia Ginger was taken aback.
Koa Jackson explained, "He just called, eager to see you. If you really don’t want to go, it’s fine; we can talk about it another day."
"Hmm." Mia Ginger hesitated, shrugged, and said, "It’s fine, it’s the weekend anyway. I didn’t have anything planned, so if it’s not too much trouble for you, take me back. I haven’t seen Grandpa Jackson in a long time."
Koa Jackson scrutinized her, "Alright."
"Okay." Mia Ginger smiled, lowered her head, and started eating breakfast.
What must come cannot be avoided, whether sooner or later, it’s inevitable, and escaping is not a solution.
Just like meeting Louis Cox at the banquet yesterday, pretending not to hear or speak might upset several people, it’s better to face it proactively and positively.
Having thought it through, Mia Ginger felt at ease.
After breakfast, she volunteered to wash the dishes and went to the Jackson Residence with Koa Jackson.
Since returning to the Ginger Family, this should be her fourth time going to the Jackson Residence, but her first time going back with Koa Jackson.
Her feelings were a bit complicated.
Lost in her thoughts, they arrived quickly.
The winter climate in Cloud Capital was dry and cold, so Old Master Jackson didn’t come out, waiting in the hall instead.
Mia Ginger followed Koa Jackson directly into the living room.
From afar, they heard bursts of laughter and chatter.
As they got closer, they discovered that quite a few people were sitting in the living room.
Of those she recognized, there were Old Master Jackson, Daniella Jackson, Lydia Williams, Allen, Lilian Jackson, Marianne Jackson, Bryan Jackson, and Aunt Lee and Uncle Lewis. Among the unfamiliar ones, besides a few busy servants, there was a woman in her sixties, a young and capable woman, and a seven or eight-year-old child.
From afar, Mia Ginger felt overwhelmed just looking.
Allen was the first to spot her and exclaimed joyfully, "Little Pepper."
Mia Ginger: "..."
Regaining her composure, she pursed her lips, gave him a glance, and opted to ignore him, directly greeting, "Hello, Grandpa Jackson, hello Aunt Daniella..."
Old Master Jackson laughed heartily, not waiting for Koa Jackson to introduce, he invited her over and introduced her to the three beside him, "This is Girl Mia, she’s studying at Cloud Capital University."
After he spoke, he introduced Mia Ginger to the guests, "This is Koa’s aunt, you can call her Aunt; this is Koa’s sister-in-law, Shen Qiao, she graduated from your university’s journalism department, so she’s like your senior; and this little rascal is Alan Jackson, Koa’s eldest nephew."
Mia Ginger listened carefully, smiled at the three, and greeted them one by one.
Old Master Jackson had two sons and a daughter. The eldest, Omar Jackson, had passed away, his wife Emma was over sixty and loved quietness, rarely staying at the Jackson Residence.
Currently, it’s winter break for students, coincidentally her daughter-in-law Shen Qiao is on leave, so she brought Alan Jackson home with her.
Emma, as the eldest daughter-in-law of the Jackson family, naturally had quite a presence. In her sixties, she was still very lively, tall and slim, and after hearing Old Master’s words, she politely stood up, complimenting Mia Ginger twice, and in demeanor, she naturally overshadowed Lydia Williams sitting nearby.
