Chapter 447: Chapter 458 You Still Have Me (3)

The phone’s persistent ringtone couldn’t be ignored.

Throwing off the covers, getting out of bed, and grabbing the phone to answer it, then returning to bed.

The call was from Zane Jackson. As soon as Koa Jackson picked up, he heard, "Koa."

"Dad." Koa’s voice was indifferent.

Zane had actually seen him at the party but was too busy to speak. Holding back his frustration, he asked, "What’s happening with you and that girl from the Ginger Family?"

Koa replied, "Just as you saw."

"..." Zane was momentarily shocked, surprised, "You fancy her?"

"I’m in love with her," Koa confessed straightforwardly, "I’m planning to marry her. My decision is made."

"You!" Zane was momentarily speechless with anger.

The daughter from the Ginger Family was nearly eight years younger than his son, had picked up all sorts of bad habits from living outside for so long, and had that hard and stubborn temper, like a stone in a toilet. Could she be a good wife to take care of their young master Koa?

Especially considering the ruckus she had caused at the Jackson Family earlier, he was extremely dissatisfied.

Zane was about to lecture him when he heard Koa coldly say on the phone, "I’m about to rest. If there’s nothing else, let’s leave it at that."

"Hey!"

Before Zane could finish his sentence, Koa hung up the phone.

Holding the phone tightly in his hand, fingers clenched.

He turned to glance at Mia Ginger, who looked confused and quiet, just as he was about to pull her into his arms.

The phone rang again.

Caller ID: Caiden Ward.

Koa stared at the phone for a moment in silence, holding Mia closer while gently caressing her bare, fragrant shoulder.

He answered the call.

Caiden, concerned about him taking Mia away, had been lying on his bed, smoking a cigarette, and wanted to call and ask about the progress.

As soon as it connected, he asked, "Cousin, where are you?"

"I’m at home," Koa replied irritably.

"And...where’s that girl Mia?" Caiden’s tone lifted a bit, probing.

"Do you have a reason to call?"

"Who says you need a reason to call? I just..."

Before he could finish, Koa took the phone and turned it off.

A serene silence filled the room.

All the impulsive tension had dissipated.

Koa rubbed his forehead gently, leaned over to kiss Mia at the corner of her mouth, and softly said, "I’m going to take a shower."

"Brother Jackson." Mia grabbed his wrist.

Koa smiled softly, speaking gently, "It’s late. If you’re sleepy, go to bed early. Be good."

What does that mean?

Is he leaving her again?

Mia watched his back as he got up, biting her lip, making a small noise, then rolled around in the bed twice wrapped in the covers.

Absolutely maddening.

Were all these people conspiring to make calls at the same time?

Could it be any more annoying!

She felt a vague discomfort, both agitated and frustrated. Rolling back and forth in the blankets, she listened to the sound of water in the bathroom and sighed before sitting up again.

After a while, feeling bored, she snuggled back under the covers.

Letting her mind wander.

Not really sure what she was thinking about, but she eventually drifted off to sleep.

——

The next day, early morning.

Mia woke up groggily, turning to find an empty space beside her.

Koa was already up.

Her mind stirred, she yawned, and quickly became fully awake.

Wrapping herself in a down jacket, she went back to her room to find some clothes to change into.

Then went out to look for Koa Jackson.
