Chapter 83: Ch 83: Pay A Visit- Part 1

I had every intention to visit my uncle and aunt, but I got too busy to do that for the next few hours.

Customers kept coming in to the point that I had to turn away some of them because there was nowhere to sit inside. But what was even worse was the way they were trying to grab my attention.

"Hey, do you have time—"

smack

"Please do not try and touch me, or I would be forced to throw you out."

I warned the hunter and he quickly pulled his hand back with a cheeky grin. But the way he smiled at me made me irritated.

Thankfully, Kuro seemed to have a good time keeping these people in check.

"Hey, don’t be like that. Aren’t I good-looking...awww fuck...shit...where did you come from—"

Kuro had taken it upon himself to scratch people’s faces today. And he was especially helpful against the hunters I did not want to deal with.

I could sense the hunters’ anger as they tried to catch Kuro, but Kuro was far too fast for them to catch. The cat-shaped monster managed to dodge all their attempts to catch it and return to my side.

Then, it rubbed against my side and gave the alphas a glare from my side.

"Kuro, you are doing great. Keep this up and I will reward you with extra food tonight."

The demon just huffed, not caring about the food. But he did not refuse my request either and went back to work.

But Kuro was not the only one who was on edge with what was happening. I could feel Theo’s angry eyes digging into the tables that were harassing me.

The only saving grace for those alphas was the fact that they were hunters and our regulars. Otherwise, I would have asked Ben to throw them out already.

"—see, I told you, right? A little fierce thing. Don’t you want to grab him and put him in his place? I can already tell that he would scream so sweetly—"

I heard one of the alphas whisper to his friend as I walked past them. A hand instantly shot toward me to grab me.

But I grabbed it first and snapped the wrist.

"Do not harass me. You will not like the outcome."

I told them as I kept walking. The alpha with the broken wrist cursed before he ran away because his pride was hurt.

"Oh my—! Another one? I feel like we are getting too many dangerous customers these days. Do you think I need to ask someone for help?"

Emma looked worried as she looked at the unsavoury crowd in the PC Cafe. She likely had never seen such a bad bunch before and I could not help but feel like it was somewhat my fault.

I wanted to assure her that I could take care of it all, but as I was pretending to be a powerless person, how could I do that?

"I don’t like them either. Especially the alpha hunters. They look at Kyle as if he is a piece of meat they want to devour. Ugh, it makes me want to hunt them down and hurt them."

Theo confessed as a growl formed in his throat.

I saw Kuro flinch from the corner of my eyes as Theo spoke. But before I could form any correlation, I watched the demon get back to work.

"Tsk, I wish a small dungeon opens not too far away from here and all these hunters are forced to go and take care of it. That way, we won’t have to deal with half of this crowd."

I complained as I looked at the unsavoury crowd and Theo’s eyes lightened up for some reason.

"You are right. These people would have to leave if there is an emergency, right... not that I am happy about it or anything."

Theo quickly caught himself before he could say something offensive, but I did not really care about any of it.

Moreover, dungeons were not something that just appeared out of thin air these days. There was a rhyme and a way to tell when a dungeon would open and where.

So the chances of one opening up nearby were next to none.

"Let’s get back to work. I am going to throw out anyone who irritates me."

I warned Emma before I went back to work. However, not even 15 minutes passed when there was a sudden panic around the cafe.

"—oh god—! Did you see—"

"It’s not too far away from here. We are all asked to be dispatched there—"

"Ugh, I came here to relax, not to work. But looks like I have no choice. It is a code red after all. Let’s get going."

One by one, the hunters left and I quickly checked the system discreetly to know what was happening.

The news that I got shocked me to no one.

[A dungeon has appeared nearby. All hunters, please head toward the dungeon to take care of it before any casualties can be caused.]

The message was clear and I felt like I needed to head out and check it out as well. But I was not a hunter at the moment, but a civilian.

As such, I had no need to head toward the dungeon.

’Besides, I am sure that the current hunters can take care of this dungeon just fine. There is no need for me to panic.’

Within minutes, all TV stations turned their news toward the new dungeon and how this was a rare occurrence when the association had not been able to predict a dungeon’s opening location.

The reporters also told people to not worry as the footage from the dungeon gate was shown on TV.

"Oh my—! That is not too far away from here, right? Are we going to be alright?"

Emma asked while looking at the TV and I turned my attention to look at it as well.

Just as Emma told us—the dungeon was only two blocks away and looked like a tough one at that.

If the monsters ever managed to escape from it, the damage would be too much for us to take care of.

"I am sure we will be alright... I mean, Luminous Guild is right across from our cafe, right?"

Theo assured us all, but it almost seemed as if he added the last part in a hurried panic.

Or maybe I was being too sensitive and reading too much into a situation. I needed to take less stress at this point.

"For now, we should empty this cafe and head a little further away from the cafe until it is safe once more. We should also let our customers know what is happening and make sure they are safe."

Ben told us all as he got into action. The crowd panicked, but that was expected. But somehow, between us all, we managed to get them out safely.

And now, it was time for us to head out as well. And I finally had time to deal with my uncle and aunt and also pay them a visit.

They had made good use of my name, so I wanted to pay them back for it.
