The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 39: Ch : Ace is back - Part 1
The day had felt overwhelming. But the more I worked, the calmer I felt. It was almost therapeutic to serve people drinks and their food...if you ignored them yelling at you and each other.
Finally, it came time for us to close for the day, but the reporters and other investors sitting in our café refused to move.
"Emma, shall I ask the people to leave now?"
I asked Emma as I watched her make an annoyed face as well. She looked tired after a hard day of work and I wanted to help her out.
"You would? That would be really helpful. Ah, but take Ben with you. I’ve dealt with such people before. They can be real jerks sometimes. I don’t want anything to happen to you."
Emma told me and I nodded back at her.
I knew what she was worried about—me being an omega.
Usually, alpha customers got easily annoyed by omega staff since they believed alphas were the superior ones. But I was not going to sit back and watch them abuse me if it came down to it.
I walked over to the first table where three people were furiously arguing and I smacked my hand on the table.
"Excuse me, but you all need to leave now. It’s closing time for us and we need to get things done."
The people at the table looked flustered and they quickly picked up their things and left with an apology.
Seeing this, a few more people left. But most of them were shameless and pretended they did not hear my threat.
I felt my forehead throb with annoyance and I decided to address everyone.
"This was for you all as well. It’s time for you all to leave now. I won’t give you this chance again. If you don’t leave, I will call the police."
I threatened and most people left after that. But three alphas refused to budge, so I had no choice but to walk toward them and confront that group.
"Hey, did you not hear me—"
"So an omega thinks he can lecture us around? Hey, you should know your place because we are—"
The alpha reached out to grab me and push me down. But he was not even able to do much even when he grabbed my arm.
I held my ground and only gave the customer a smile.
"See, aren’t you more tired than expected? Now, are you going to leave or do I have to involve police?"
I asked and the alpha gritted his teeth. His companions stood up as well and decided to confront me. I sighed at their foolishness.
But before the trio could do anything, they were grabbed from behind by Ben and Theo.
The alpha duo dragged the trio outside and threw them out.
"You three are not welcome here from today onwards. If we see you around, I will be sure to make your face something only your mother can love. Am I clear?"
Ben asked in a scary voice. But I had a feeling the trio were more afraid of Theo and his blank face. There was something terrifying about him.
Once the trio left, Theo quickly turned toward me and wrapped his arms around me.
"Kyle, are you alright? You are not hurt, right? I was so worried about you. I am so glad nothing happened to you."
Theo told me as he almost sobbed over my shoulder.
I just patted his back to comfort him before I looked at Ben.
"Thank you for your help. I had no idea what to do if things got tense."
Ben just shrugged in a tired manner.
"It’s fine. Protecting our staff is one of my duties. Besides, today was an exhausting day for us all. I am sure we all want to head to sleep now. Let’s finish off here quickly and head to our beds."
Following Ben’s words, we got to work quickly and finished our chores for the day. Then, we all headed back to bed and I pulled myself across mine.
Sleep found me quickly and I hoped for an easy day tomorrow.
But unfortunately, the next day was the same and so was the next.
Even after a week, the news of Ace’s return had not calmed down and people had not given up interviewing the Luminous Guild...and more specifically, the former No.1 hunter, Lynn.
But Lynn had not shown himself in public yet. His social media had just let out a single statement welcoming Ace back.
"I wonder how long I would have to endure all this heavy workload for?"
I questioned as I cleaned a dirty cup. Emma, who was with me, looked at me and gave me a reassuring look.
"Don’t worry. We won’t have to deal with this for too much longer. The Hunter’s Championship is coming. I am sure that people will turn their attention toward it once it actually starts."
Emma assured me and I nodded in relief. I was suddenly looking forward to that time.

"Where the heck is Ace—? Has he not been found yet? What about contact? Has he not contacted us at all?"
The Hunter Association was in an uproar as they waited for Ace to contact them.
The chairman of the Hunter Association had been so sure that Ace would return to them that no one else had tried to do anything to find him, but a week had passed and there was no contact.
"Chairman, we need to do something. People are questioning us where Ace is. What do we do?"
Someone asked the calm chairman and the old man just coughed and then looked at him.
"Ace will return to us. I am sure there are circumstances that are preventing him from coming back. But we also need to do something so people stop questioning us about him."
The chairman spoke confidently and the others nodded.
Suddenly, a young lady dressed sharply in a suit pushed her glasses up and stood up.
"I have an idea, everyone. As you know, it has been 10 years since anyone has seen Ace, right? There are not a lot of clear photos or evidence of how he looked in the past. So, how about we create our own Ace?"
She asked and everyone suddenly yelled over each other.
"Have you gone mad? Do you think the public is foolish? They would never fall for such an obvious trick."
"And even if we can make another Ace, what is the guarantee we would be able to match his power?"
"What if the real Ace returns when we do this and he takes offence to what we are doing?"
The council asked but the female looked confident.
"I am aware of all your troubles, but do we really need to worry about most of this stuff? Media is our ally. I am sure we can weave a convincing story even if we are in trouble. For now, what we need to do is show the world that we have Ace on our side."
The female spoke with confidence and the others were starting to come around.
Ultimately, the chairman was also convinced.
"Fine. Rose, I will give you a chance. Do not mess it up."
