The Top Omega Hunter Wants a Quiet Life [BL]-Chapter 179: Ch : Coming Back- Part 5

"I do apologize for coming across as a little insensitive. I did not consider your feelings as I should have. However, you should also understand that we also need to look at the bigger picture. The general public is worried about this news."
Rudy spoke calmly once he recovered from his shock. He was the first one, but the others continued to speak one after another.
"That’s right! It’s important."
"How can we face the people if we don’t even know what to say to them?"
I felt like none of my words were going through to these people... or rather, these people looked uninterested in trying to understand what I wanted to say to them.
It felt annoying, but I had already said what I needed to say. There was no more need for me to waste my voice over them. I would simply take action when it was needed.
Lynn had... other ideas. He ended up slamming his hand on the table before he gave the people in front of him a glare.
"Are you done talking? Then, we let continue where Ace left off. You are free to do what you want, but we are also free to do what we want as well. If you want to risk it, then come and fight me and the Luminous Guild. I hope you know whom you are going to make an enemy."
Lynn’s voice was quiet when he spoke, and Rudy just smiled and backed off.
"I understand. I do apologize for the mess. Looks like we have no choice but to give the people some time to breathe."
He told Lynn, but it was clear that he was far from satisfied after what happened. He would soon try something else.
I could not understand why he was so insistent on getting the victims to talk, but I had a feeling I could not allow that to happen.
Finally, Rudy and the others left, and I collapsed in the chair behind me. My body felt tired since I had not yet recovered, but I also felt relieved that I had attended this meeting.
"What are you doing here? You should be resting in your room. And why are you here? Weren’t you going to go home?"
Lynn asked, now both confused and a little annoyed. But I waved his concern off quickly.
"I came back because I feel like this is where I belong. I did want to go back home, but I don’t think that’s such a good idea at the moment. Especially with all that is happening."
All I wanted to do at the moment was find Theo and be with him. But I did not want to tell that to Lynn.
Something about his gaze made me nervous, and I had a feeling that the less I spoke about my feelings for Theo, the better it would be for everyone involved.
"I see. So I am someone you can rely on? That’s good to know. In that case, I guess I will have to live up to your expectations."
Lynn walked toward me as he spoke before he took a strand of my hair in his hand to play with. I had to stop myself from slapping his hand away.
The alpha noticed when I tensed up and decided to back away himself.
"You should head to your room to rest now. I will send someone else to get you if I need you. Please, recover before doing anything dangerous again."
Lynn told me before he headed out. Everyone else shot me glances as well, and Rhiner almost walked over toward me before he decided that it would be better to approach me alone.
I was left in the room all alone after that, and I also left for my room. I needed all the help I could get if I were to continue with this investigation.

"Look who came back with their tail between their legs. What happened? You were so confident that you would be able to gain control over those deserters."
Rudy glanced at Rina as the high priestess exited the portal she had opened. Her subjects were kneeling in front of her even as the portal closed.
The high priest ignored her as he poured himself another glass of beer and drank it in one shot.
"Ugh, this still has no taste of strength. I want to drink something stronger. Oh, hi Rina. When did you come here?"
Rudy asked, clearly ignoring Rina and her presence. Even when he knew that Rina was there, he pretended she was not, and Rina gritted her teeth as she watched him ignore her.
She walked over to him and yanked the glass out of his hand, causing Rudy to glance at her fully.
"Are you pretending to ignore me? How dare you! Ugh, anyway, that’s not important. You went to get the missing data from the Hell’s Fire dungeon? Were you able to meet the victims and gather it?"
She asked, now pushing back her desire to hit the high priest in front of her. But Rudy only looked at her calmly and with a smile.
"Don’t worry about it. My plan was a success. Although those hunters tried to deny me access to the victims, I had my way. Here, this is all the data we would need. Has Master said anything else?"
Rudy asked as he threw the small glowing ball of data toward Rina. He doubted anyone had even noticed him using his powers.
Soon, all the victims won’t remember what happened, and they would be able to strengthen their lord even more.
"You... did a good job. You should look forward to coming back home."
Rina told Rudy, and he sighed.
"Yeah, I am looking forward to coming back home as well. I do wish to put an end to this façade as well and return to who I used to be."
Rudy told Rina before she left him all alone. They were slowly moving toward the final part of their plan, and soon, their master would come back, and things would be as they were supposed to be.
