’Keep walking forward. Do not turn around, or you will lose your cool.’

Theo reminded himself as he walked away from the lunch table. Kyle had taken up the task of washing the dishes, so he was free to do what he wanted.

But what he wanted was to look at Kyle while he worked and be with him.

’If you want to do that, then do it. Who’s stopping you from looking at Kyle while he works? This angle also gives you a good view of that strong back and beautiful waist. Not to mention that ass—’

"Ugh, stop it."

Theo reminded his other self as he rubbed his forehead. He could not take it anymore.

Since the dungeon where he had allowed his other half to possess his body, it had decided to be extremely vocal.

Especially when it came to Kyle.

Theo had certain... desires toward Kyle that he was not going to act upon. But the voice in his head kept telling him to act on them anyway.

It was getting frustrating to the point where Theo wanted to grab his hair and curse out loud. But he knew he could not do that.

’What’s the point of holding back anyway? Our omega is strong enough to take us on. He’ll be fine even if you show him your desires. Or are you too scared?’

The taunting voice asked Theo, but he had more than enough patience not to fall for the trap.

He respected Kyle a lot, and no voice in the back of his head was going to make him cause trouble for him.

’Isn’t it just because you are too afraid? As an alpha, you should be a little more proactive. Or your omega won’t trust you at all.’

Once more, the voice gave him outdated views on how an alpha-omega relationship should be, but Theo did not agree.

The only thing he agreed upon was the fact that he needed to protect Kyle. Otherwise, his views could not be more different from the entity in his head.

"I’m going out to take a walk. Theo, do you want to join me?"

Kyle asked, and Theo panicked.

’What are you doing? Go and accompany him.’

The entity in his head told him, and Theo paused. He had a feeling that something bad could happen if he was not careful.

So despite his desire to be with Kyle, he decided to take a step back for now.

"Oh—! No, that’s fine. You should go and take your walk, Kyle. I need to rest for a while."

Theo told the omega, and Kyle had a disappointed expression on his face.

’What are you doing? Can’t you see that you made Kyle upset? Hurry up and tell him that you are taking what you said back. Or I will take over your body and—’

"You should get going now, Kyle. I will see you later."

Theo quickly told Kyle so that the omega would leave before anything dangerous could happen.

Kyle gave him a worried look that Theo was grateful for. But thankfully, Kyle did not stay behind for long and left to take his walk.

Only once he was gone did Theo allow himself to relax, and his other half struggled to gain control of his body.

"Fine, you can have my body for a while. But don’t go after Kyle. He needs his alone time as well."

Theo warned his other half, and the entity remained quiet before allowing the body to relax.

As soon as they switched, Kuro walked over to them on all fours and gave a small bow.

"Master, welcome back. Is there anything I can do to help you?"

Kuro asked, and Theo gave him a serious look.

"I want you to tell me what exactly happened in the recent dungeon. Do not leave out a single detail."

Kuro shivered at his master’s orders before he quickly told him what all went through. It was not a brief talk, but Kuro did not hold back anything.

The demon wanted to see his master’s expression, but every time he looked up, he was faced with a blank look on the man’s face.

"-That is all, master."

Kuro finished speaking and waited for his master to speak up. But Theo remained quiet at first. And then, he just blinked and waved his hand.

"I see. So that’s what happened? Keep doing the same job you have been doing up until now. I will reward you for it all later."

Theo told Kuro, and Kuro shivered at his master’s cold tone.

Every frame of his body wanted to lean forward and bask in his master’s powers. But he needed to hold back for his own sake.

But Kuro was a demon that could not hold back his curiosity.

"M-Master, what are you planning to do? And why humans—? Why allow them such privileges that not even your most loyal subjects get to enjoy—"

Kuro felt like his life was in danger, and he quickly shut his mouth.

He looked at his master, only to see a silent glare aimed his way that told him to stay quiet.

"You do not need to think about what I am doing and why I am doing things. Just... keep yourself out of trouble, and that should be enough for now."

Theo told Kuro, and Kuro took it as a sign for him to leave. He did not want to cause his master any more trouble.

When he crawled back to Kyle’s room, the owner was not there. But the omega’s comfortable scent caused Kuro to snuggle into the blanket and fall asleep.

Something was very comforting about that scent, to the point that it even made him forget about his master.

’Should I go out and search for Kyle? No, I should allow him to be alone for some time as well. Ugh, I want to sleep.’

And that was how Kuro fell asleep.

Kyle only found the cat on his bed as he was about to go to sleep as well, and he quickly picked up Kuro to lay him down elsewhere.

He opened the door to put Kuro out of there, and his eyes met Theo’s across the hall. But something felt... different about the gentle alpha.

"Kyle, why don’t you give Kuro to me? You look tired."

Theo told him, but Kyle’s instincts screamed danger. He had a feeling that he might never see Kuro again if he handed him over to Theo now.

So Kyle clutched Kuro against him for now and decided to walk past Theo.

"No, that’s fine. I will drop Kuro off. I am quite fond of him anyway, so that’s no problem. What about you? Are you going to sleep as well?"

Theo paused before he gave Kyle an almost amused look.

"Sleep—? Ah, not right now. I want to be out just a little bit longer."

Kyle had a feeling that Theo did not mean he simply wanted to be out of bed. There seemed to be more of a story here than expected.

But Theo’s half-lit face also told Kyle not to snoop around, and in the end, he decided not to care about it.
