The System Sent Me to Breed an All-Female Amazon Tribe-Chapter 263: Briar Seems to Rank People by Power
"Papa named me Rowan!" She chirped brightly with a light shake, her mismatched blue and violet eyes fixed intently on Titania’s face as she tilted her head slightly to one side.
The corners of her mouth lifted into a wide, eager smile that showed genuine warmth, "Rowan likes Papa and Mama very much...and wants to stay close to both of you always!"
"And Mama likes you too, very much indeed," Titania replied while rubbing their cheeks together happily in slow, affectionate circles.
Her small hands cupping Rowan’s face gently as she nuzzled closer with a bright, playful smile spreading across her lips and her eyes sparkling with delight.
She continued; "In fact, Mama has some very important official duties that she wants to give you right away, just to show her massive lov--"
"Do not even think about it, Titania," Vaelora cut in sharply, her voice carrying clear irritation as she called her by first name without any title.
Though her lips still curved into that same warm, gentle smile directed straight at Rowan, who glanced over at her with a quick tilt of her head and a faint blush rising on her cheeks.
Tsk.
How come Vaelora was able to make every single one of them blush so easily by simply offering that gentle, welcoming smile of hers?
She acted like some kind, welcoming granny offering sweets to her grandchildren on a quiet afternoon.
Though, technically, she was more like their cousin or something similar.
Since she was sharing a great deal of my essence and even DNA in the mix that connected them all beneath the surface.
Okay, it was clearly time for Briar the lofty to step forward and say her piece, now that the others had gone ahead in their turns.
I hope nothing goes wrong with this introduction at all.
And wait, I suddenly feel like a worried mother hovering anxiously, while her daughter prepares to show the bad report card to the father for the first time, heart beating a little faster than usual.
Oh, hold up; Titania had other children with Namadris a long time ago, right...?
I wonder what eventually became of them after all those millions of years had passed by.
Did they continue to age normally through the long centuries, their faces changing with time, until they croaked?
Or did they receive some form of immortality directly from Titania and remain somewhere in the world even now, hidden away or living quietly?
I will have to ask her about that later when things calm down a bit and we have a private moment.
The other children had gathered closely around Titania in a loose, curious circle, pressing in with eager expressions and soft murmurs.
It was then that Briar walked slowly toward her with careful steps, ending up around the same height as the petite queen, but...
"M... Mother... I... m-my name is..."
Oh boy, she was stuttering like crazy!
Her words were tumbling out in hesitant, broken fragments that caught in her throat!
And she kept flashing me nervous glances from the corner of her eye, her fists tightening together tightly in front of her while carefully avoiding Titania’s big, focused gaze that never wavered for even a second.
And why was Titania adding to the problem by staring at her so intensely with those wide violet eyes locked on without blinking?
Her head tilted slightly as if studying every tiny detail?
And Briar turned beet red across her cheeks and ears, the color spreading rapidly as she fidgeted in place with her shoulders drawing inward, looking ridiculously cute in her embarrassment.
Uh, how did blood work with these titans? Are they supposed to be able to blush at all?
It’s cute, so it’s fine, I guess.
"Uh... Benjamin, this is also one of them, right?" Titania asked me quietly, leaning slightly to the side while still holding onto the others.
Her voice was dropping to a near whisper as her brows furrowed in mild confusion and she bit her lower lip lightly.
"What kind of question is that exactly? I thought you could magically tell just by ’laying’ your eyes on them the moment you saw them standing there?"
I replied with one eyebrow raised high, crossing my arms over my chest as I watched the scene unfold with a mix of amusement and mild exasperation.
I then replied; "Yes, she’s Briar, the last born among them."
"Kyaahhh!"
Titania wrapped her arms tightly around the melting Briar without a moment’s hesitation, squeezing her firmly into a warm hug that pressed the girl fully against her chest, her hands rubbing soothing circles on Briar’s back.
"I knew it the whole time! The moment I laid eyes on her standing there quietly, I knew without any doubt that she was my daughter!"
Tsk. This little...
But it was quite odd to observe up close: Briar seemed ridiculously shy around Titania specifically, her face flushing deeper with every hug and gentle touch that came her way, her body softening like wax under the attention.
Was it because of that small show of power earlier?
The violet energy that consumed everything it touched without mercy, leaving nothing behind in its path?
Briar seems to rank people mainly by the power they displayed in front of her, after all...
That was judging from how she acted with everyone else up until now.
"Uh... My Queen, can we please move on to--"
"Shut up right this instant!" Titania lashed out sharply at Tera who had tried to plead quietly from her kneeling position on the floor.
Her voice resounded through the air like a whip while her eyes flashed with clear irritation and she pointed one small finger accusingly, "We haven’t even entered the punishment properly yet. You’re both dead meat for sleeping with Benjamin, after I specifically warned you not to do it behind my back!"
Tera and Tesa both sighed heavily in unison, their shoulders rising and falling visibly as they continued maintaining their kneeling positions on the cold stone floor.
And now their faces carried slightly sullen expressions with downturned mouths, lowered gazes, and faint lines of disappointment etched around their eyes.
Briar, still nestled securely in Titania’s arms with her head resting against the queen’s shoulder, glanced sideways at Tera for a brief moment.
Her crystal blue eyes shifted with silent curiosity while her fingers clutched lightly at Titania’s clothing.
"M... Mother..." Her voice came out even smaller than usual--
