The Swapped Master's Bride And Her Bad Luck System.-Chapter 29: Shared wife of the Shen brothers.
She did not wait for him to reply because she had a feeling that whatever he would say next, would be another defense of his brother and his plans. So, she walked ahead.
Weijun groaned and followed. "You’ve been here a week and already you think you know what is best for this city in terms of law enforcement. Do you know that this could trigger riots tomorrow?"
Liwu shrugged. "Then we suppress them and force the system hosts in this city to get used to the new normal. Frankly, I am disappointed by how you are allowing them to rule over you instead of the opposite." She paused and smiled, nodding slowly like she was coming to a realization. "Then again, your brother has a system that builds cities. But, there is more involved in running a city than building walls and arming them.
In these past years, nobody has focused on the crime rate here because of the system wars. But now that there is a cease fire, bad things are going to start creeping out of the dark. Maybe then, your eyes will be forced open to reality and you will appreciate the work of the Bureau."
With quicker steps, Liwu walked ahead, leaving him behind. Weijun ran after her, determined to show her that she was wrong.
But when they entered the house, a more surprising scene stopped them: Manman was in the living room, belting notes into a microphone and dancing. Two of the Shen brothers, one sister, Madam Xu and Shen Biao were there, supporting her like fans at a concert.
Liwu turned to Shen Weijun, a frightening smile on her face that promised deadly consequences.
Mo Xia moved quickly like a shadow and disconnected the music.
Silence settled over the living room.
"Nephew, join us." Shen Biao stood up eagerly. "Manman said that you brothers used to sing songs together with her to boost the morale of the IH soldiers. I did not believe her so I asked her to sing a song for me. I had no idea that she has a such a beautiful voice. As expected of the one of the most beautiful and kindest women in the world, even her voice is mesmerizing."
Weijun remained in place, as if his feet were glued to the ground.
Behind him, his men and Majesty blinked curiously. How was this going to end?
Manman, moved first, waving to Weijun. "Aunt would not let me go, so I stayed back for a while to keep her company. I hope sister-in-law does not mind my presence."
Liwu raised her brows. What was this, century brewed green tea? She had not even opened her mouth as already, her husband’s little lover was trying to create trouble!
"What did we agree on?" She tilted her head to the left and asked her husband.
Weijun replied through gritted teeth. "I did not bring her here, you heard her, my aunt is responsible for this."
Liwu smiled, exposing her canines like a vampire that was about to enjoy dinner. "In that case, I will help you see the visitor off."
Weijun grabbed her hand. "What are you going to do?"
Liwu shook his hand off and loudly said, "Ah, if it isn’t the shared wife of the Shen brothers. How good of you to visit us. Which of your husbands have you come to see?" She looked at the Shen brothers in the room and her husband. "Since you like singing, should we put them all in a room with you and give you privacy to perform and sweat as a group?" 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Butler Chen’s phone fell to the ground.
Someone in the hallway fell down and utensils crashed.
Grand aunt Yuening’s bunny escaped the room. Maybe, to seek its owner so that she could come and fix the trouble.
For a moment, the only sound in the room was Majesty’s chuckling. The cat tugged on Cross Ho’s pants and said, "They have no idea who they are dealing with? I have seen Liwu make grown men faint with her sharp tongue alone."
Weijun was the first to break free from the shock. "Tai Liwu, what are you saying?"
Manman’s tears came quickly, along with an aggrieved look on her face. " Sister-in-law, how can you...." Delicate sobs fell from her mouth.
Aunt Shen Biao rushed to embrace her.
Liwu held her hand up. "Eh, stop crying, there is only one woman in the world that looks beautiful when she is crying and that is my sister Xixi. As for you, despite the nice system given face, you look ugly like the rest of us. Your husbands will lose interest in you when they see that old ugly face of yours. I suggest you pinch your lips together or train your acting skills some more."
Manman was too stunned to keep crying. How was she supposed to play the wronged woman when Liwu was not playing by the rules? Did she really look ugly while she was crying?
The Shen brothers in the room shifted away from her, putting some distance between her and them. It was not said verbally but what they meant was clear: ’we are not her husbands.’
Madam Xu decided to step in. "Liwu, Manman is a guest in this house and a friend of the family. How dare you speak to her like that?"
Liwu turned to her mother-in-law, that frightening smile returned. "Mother-in-law, have you forgotten what we talked about on my first day here? Do you need a reminder?"
"Sister-in-law, it is not what it looks like." Shen Yulan said in a sharp voice. "Manman...."
Liwu raised her hand, palm facing Yulan. "Do I look like I care what this looks like? All I know is that if a picture of her is taken and leaked to the press, the news will not say a family friend visited. Who in the world does not know about her disturbing affair with the Shen brothers?
All people will say is that my husband is having an affair. All the bureau will think is that your Shen family played tricks on us for the alliance."
"The master did not." Hale growled.
Liwu shrugged. "Tell that to the world, and don’t expect me to come to the defense of your Shen family. I will cry on live television and say I was cheated. Now, you have one minute to get this system assisted beauty of this house or my bad luck might begin spreading.
But if you insist on hosting her, I don’t mind gathering our whole family together for a wonderful dinner where I will get to know the shared wife of the Shen brothers better. Your choice mother-in-law."
As if on cue, the glass table in the living room cracked and collapsed.
