Chapter 409: Origins Of Pickles

Listening to Ace, Lyra looked at him and then Mandy, whose face was half buried in her chest, and immediately let go of the latter, realizing she wasn’t wearing a bra as it snapped during her fight with Sonia. Letting out a fake cough to mask her embarrassment for her indecent display, she nodded, adding, “Yeah, you are right. We are now too old to act like we used to.”

I already erased it from my mind, but the actual victim of this ordeal, Mandy, made it personal, saying, “You’re the living example of the words big breast, small brains.”

I did not blame Mandy for that cheap shot, if Danny were to try to choke me with his balls I too would be pissed beyond reason. I might have just crushed his ball; compared to me, Mandy was still being civilized.

“At least I have big breasts, both your breasts and brain are small,” Lyra fired back. However, without giving Mandy time for an even more disgusting comeback, I yelled, “Okay, that’s it. Both of you are out of my room.” And prepared to shove the two out of my room.

If it were any other girls, I wouldn’t have just watched the show but cheered on. However, one was my big sister and the other was my little aunt. It was just disgusting.

“I am not leaving until you make me a part of your little club or you give a satisfactory answer,” Mandy grabbed onto her nephew’s big arms as tightly as possible. Having personally tasted the changes in a big oaf like Lyra, she did not want to fall behind.

“If she is not leaving, I am not leaving either,” Lyra said, making herself comfortable at her brother’s bed, which he had rarely used.

“Fine, I will leave,” I said, preparing to leave the room, feeling that it would be a too much of a shock for Mandy if she saw me vanishing into the little cactus plant on my window sill, Only to hear Mandy cave, “Fine, I don’t want join your overrated club. At least tell me why Pickles is called Pickles.”

I smirked, not because of Mandy but seeing the reaction of Janice, who had been eavesdropping on me for a while now, from outside my window. It seems she wanted to catch me doing something embarrassing to use against me. It was actually a clone; the real one was still in her lab in Lansky Manor, according to my Status screen’s Curse Map.

“Now that’s a funny story—” I was interrupted just as I began. Janice took over her clone’s consciousness and burst into my bedroom through the open window, warning me aloud, “Ace, don’t you dare tell it to anyone.”

“Ahhh!” Mandy let out a scream while Lyra had summoned her wakizashi, prepared to fight. Seeing the intruder was none other than Janice, Mandy complained, “What the heck, Pickles?”

“I almost sliced you into two, Pickles.” Lyra too shamelessly got comfortable with the latter. Well, with her ability and background, she could afford to do so. However, the latter reacted with a disdain-filled gaze to her remark. freeweɓnøvel~com

“This is your fault, Ace. Fix it or I don’t know what I will do, but I am sure you will live to regret this moment,” Janice, in her frustration, repeated her old threat to Ace.

“Actually, Mandy, it will be much easier if I show you why Pickles came to be known as Pickles. I managed to get my hands on the video footage of what actually happened. I call it the origin of Pickles. But Mandy, do you dare risk your friendship to see it?” I asked ignoring Janice, trying to create a sense of enigma and mystery.

“I want to watch the origin of Pickles, too,” Lyra said, feeling left out. She would bravely express such feelings when others would try to hide them. Well, I guess that was why her friends always remembered to throw her surprise birthday party and wish her on all public holidays, while I barely received any birthday wishes on my social media, let alone in person. Relatives didn’t count.

“Well, it’s not up to you, fatty. It’s my video. If you guys watch it, I will sue you all to homelessness. I’m serious! I am not kidding!” Janice snapped, only to hear the trio continue to taunt her.

“No need to be mean, Pickles. Words hurt too.”

“Pickles, you can take my money from me, but you can’t take the memory of that video from me.”

“Yeah, I would like you to give it a try. Let’s see who will become homeless first.”

“Fuck! You guys are driving me crazy!” Janice yelled in irritation and then, turning to Ace, she warned, “Don’t test me, I will tell on you to your mother.”

“Pickles, I didn’t know you were a tattletail. I’m so disappointed to be your friend,” Mandy commented, as if deeply hurt by Pickles’ betrayal.

“Maddie, shut up!” Janice lashed, and then immediately tried to buy the latter, offering, “You want to be part of our club, right? You were right. Ace was not telling you everything. If you promise me that you will never watch that video or listen to what happened in it, I will tell you how to become like us.”

“I don’t know, pickles, watching an embarrassing old video of my best friend or joining a stuck-up and lame-ass secret society? I’ve got to go on with the origins of Pickles on this one. Otherwise, I will regret it for the rest of my life. Ace, play the origins of Pickles. Origins of Pickles! Origins of Pickles!” Mandy began to chant, and sure enough, Lyra joined in.

“Fine, go ahead and watch. But remember, Landers, this is not over here,” warned Janice, leaving just like how she arrived.

“Pickles, don’t leave, it will not be the same without you by our side!” Mandy cried out, but Janice had already left.

“Let’s go to Pickles’ place and watch the origins of Pickles,” Lyra suggests the most diabolical idea only a career bully could think of to torment their victim further.

“Yes, let’s go!” Mandy readily agreed.

I hesitated because I didn’t have time to fool around if I planned to break through to Knight-tier by the end of this month. But…

“Ace, you coming?”

“Yes.”

It’s not every day you get to torment a friend for something embarrassing they did ages ago.
