The SSS Ranked Villain's Return-Chapter 87: A Friendly Interrogation
"Ugh... Guys...?" Aurelia’s groggy voice rang out from the side, yet as she sat up and took a look around, she quickly fainted again.
"Pfft... Way to ruin the moment." Aella giggled before shooting a glance at Neraxis.
"You don’t have to answer right away, but at least consider it," she added, making her way toward the passed-out Aurelia.
The same went for Celina as she merely nodded at him and followed Aella.
Now there was only him, his thoughts, and Bale.
Why were they so easy to convince? I don’t even know them that well... and yet... Neraxis thought, conflicted.
And soon, Evangeline spoke up. [You were nice to them, helped them with several things. It’s only natural they would consider you as a friend and even be willing to help you.]
Yeah... Maybe, but for now I really need to think this through. I don’t know if I can give them an honest answer in my current state. He took a deep breath and swiftly turned his gaze over to Bale.
It seemed like he was starting to wake up again. Therefore, Neraxis approached and sliced open the cage Bale was in before throwing him onto the grass nearby.
"Kuh... What are you doing?!" Bale called out, startled. He squirmed around on the ground, his strength barely enough to defeat even the weakest of the special class.
To think that someone like him was a hero in the future made Neraxis’s blood boil.
Trash incarnate—a terrible person through and through.
And better yet, a coward who let his comrade fight alone and eventually stabbed him in the back.
Yet here he was, crawling away from Neraxis with a frightened expression on his face.
This is not as satisfying as I had thought, he remarked and finally closed the distance. Putting his sword against Bale’s throat, he spoke,
"I am going to ask some questions, and I want you to answer them truthfully."
Getting a nod of approval, Neraxis began with the normal questions first.
"What is your name?"
"Bale Leahart... Son of Vince Leahart, the prominent family of—"
"Shut up," Neraxis interjected. "What is your rank? Also, what is the rank of your main skill?"

As his words fell, visible discomfort appeared on Bale’s face as he fidgeted around, seemingly not wanting to answer.
But once Neraxis dug his sword a bit into his neck, causing blood to trickle down, that made him talk.
"Wait! I’m F ranked... and my main skill is S ranked. I am an important individual in this world!" Bale said arrogantly. "If you try something, I swear my family will track you down!"
He earned a sword hilt to the head.
"Is there a student by the name of Lar or Alice in your academy?" Neraxis pushed forward for more answers.
And soon, Bale nodded his head aggressively. "Yeah! Those two pricks are a thorn in everyone’s side. They think they are better than everyone simply because they got SS-ranked main skills. It’s ridiculous."
"Oh?" That piqued Neraxis’s interest. "Do you know what those skills are?"
"Yeah." Bale nodded, cooperating. "Lar has the Sword Saint skill. It’s some broken skill that makes his sword pierce through defenses and have aura or whatnot."
Aura? Is that like mana?
[Aura is like an exclusive reserve for those who wield combat weapons. I’m surprised you hadn’t learned how to use Aura when you wielded the scythe,] Evangeline commented, and he merely shrugged.
Hell Scythe was a skill that covered most basics. I didn’t really check for anything else, he replied before placing his attention back on Bale.

"And Alice? What’s her main skill?"
"Child of Light and Purity... or something." Bale scratched his head. "I remember it having some stupidly long name, but the purity part is definitely a lie—she’s a rotten bitch through and through."
"I understand," Neraxis nodded, coming to a decision.
"I will give you two choices. The first—be my lapdog and funnel me information weekly, or daily if something interesting happens regarding those two."
"What? Do you think I’m going to work like a slave for someone my age? You can fu—"
Before Bale could finish, Neraxis interjected.
"The second choice—I’ll sever each of your limbs one by one and feed them to the dogs. I’ll make it so you feel excruciating pain up until the moment you die." Neraxis leaned in ominously before adding, "What do you say?"
"Huh? Are you serious?" Bale found it hard to believe as he stood back up, staring at Neraxis like he was an idiot.
"I’m not going to work for you, and you can’t kill me because my family would track you down to the ends of the earth and gut you. I assume you are not an orphan? Then—"
Before Bale could finish his words, Neraxis reeled his sword back and suddenly thrust.
Immediately, a hole appeared in Bale’s abdomen, right where his left kidney was supposed to be.
And soon, he fell into panic.
"AHHH! You—what did you do!?"
However, Neraxis merely looked down on him before wiping the blood off his sword.
[That’s pretty smart—getting rid of a kidney in one fell swoop so he doesn’t die from blood loss. A good power move against another Awakened.] Evangeline praised softly.
Yeah. This is the only time I will spare him.
He walked up to Bale, who by now was puking all over the floor, his body seemingly unable to function so soon with only a single kidney.
"I will ask you one last time," Neraxis said in a cold tone and placed the sword directly on Bale’s forehead, the tip drawing blood.
"Work for me, or die."
That seemed to do the trick as Bale looked at Neraxis with fear clearly written on his face and spoke, "I will! Please don’t kill me!"
As those words fell, Neraxis let out a sigh. "Which hand was your main one again?"
"Huh? The left?" Bale asked, puzzled.
And soon, Neraxis swung the sword down, slicing off Bale’s right ring finger.
Immediately, his shrill scream resounded as he began twisting and turning on the ground from the pain.
Yet Neraxis merely stood there and desummoned his sword before turning to the side.
What met his eyes was Celina, who was sitting on a nearby table the prisoners had made, and Aella, who was simply scrolling through her phone.
These girls are really something, huh? Seeing something like this would’ve sent me running, he inwardly expressed with a sigh before delivering one final kick to Bale’s face and warning,
"I will get in contact with you. If you don’t reply, you die. If you don’t do your duty as I instructed, you die. If you disobey me, you die. Simple rules, and for your own sake, follow them," Neraxis explained with a smile, making Bale nod with tears streaming down his face.
"Perfect. See you later, Bale Leahart."
With those words, Neraxis walked back to the girls and was met with neutral looks—neither the approval nor the repulsion he had anticipated, just a calm acceptance that left him unsure of their thoughts.
"I liked that kidney trick. I might try it sometime," Celina said with a soft giggle.
Meanwhile, Aella finally got off her phone and smiled at him. "Done?"
"Done. For now, at least," Neraxis replied, feeling as though a weight had been lifted off his chest before taking a glance toward the massive mountain in the distance.
I wonder how long is left until the Rift outbreak happens?
