Chapter 49: The opening of the Cracks. (2)

A strange phenomenon had occurred. A crack had opened in space itself, interrupting a conversation.

The three subjects turned, looking at the crack with confusion.

"What the hell is this?" Gerald asked with confusion as he observed the crack through his glasses.

Noelia got on guard and kept quiet, while Ariel looked at the crack with disinterest.

"Did you open that, fatty?" the girl asked, with the simple intention of annoying Gerald.

However, he didn’t bother at all. They were now facing a very strange phenomenon that could also put them in danger.

He wouldn’t waste time fighting or arguing with a conceited brat.

An ominous essence began being expelled from the crack, which put the three heroes on alert.

A growl began to escape, and from the crack a snout began to protrude, and little by little, a mouth with sharp teeth appeared.

It looked like a wolf, but its fur was dark purple and its size larger than usual.

The "wolf" leaned out even more, but before completely exiting the crack, the floor deformed, adopting the shape of a stake, and drove itself into its head, through the jaw, from top to bottom.

Ariel turned.

Noelia had touched the floor with her hands and used her [Texture Manipulation] on the ground to deform it and finish off the creature.

While her amulet was damaged, she could still use a simple technique like that. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Well done, Silver Dragon of the West!" the idol acclaimed with a smile as she looked at Noelia with admiration.

However, at that moment, another crack opened.

Space shattered like glass right next to Ariel and a black tentacle shot toward her.

"Don’t get distracted," Gerald warned as he summoned three small goblins on the tentacle.

The goblins jumped on the tentacle and began stabbing it with their blades while cursing with a high-pitched, screeching voice.

"Tch, not like I needed your help, fat idiot," Ariel answered with irritation, as if Gerald having saved her was a blow to her ego.

Gerald didn’t respond. He simply summoned his staff and adjusted his glasses.

"I think it would be better to go out on deck. The less movement space we have, the worse for us," Gerald affirmed.

He was a strategist and had experience.

Gerald knew the biggest problem when fighting in a group was fighting in small places.

If you were against a single opponent it could be an advantage, but if there were several it would be dangerous.

Especially if they came out of random places.

Gerald knew the best strategy in that situation was to go outside to have more space to react.

Since in a smaller space they would have more difficulties moving.

"I see that as good," Noelia corroborated. She was aware of that too.

Ariel was going to reply, but when she heard Noelia agreed, she shut up and obeyed.

The three began running down the hallway. Gerald was in front, Ariel in the middle, and Noelia in the rear.

"I think it’s this way," the boy said, pointing to a door.

However, right at that moment, space cracked and burst, forming another crack.

From that "crack" shot a creature shaped like a crocodile with black scales and purple eyes that glowed intensely.

The crocodile roared and violently opened its jaws against a distracted Gerald, who fell backward from the shock.

"Watch out!!" Marshmallow warned with a high-pitched screech as it flew rapidly toward Gerald, positioning itself between him and the crocodile.

The creature let the crocodile’s jaws catch it to instantly "inflate" suddenly.

The pink fluff surrounding it inflated, increasing its volume several times, preventing the crocodile from closing its jaw.

"CHIUUUUU!" the creature then shouted. As it did, its fluff electrified suddenly.

The fluff began releasing electrical currents around it, unleashing them on the crocodile.

Electric blue currents ran through the monster’s body, frying it completely, making scales explode and its eyes burst from the electricity.

"Well done, Marshmallow!" Ariel congratulated as the cherub returned to its original size, leaving the dead crocodile on the ground. "And fatty, get up quick!"

She exclaimed as she kept running toward the door.

As she did, Noelia touched the wall.

Behind her, the wall, ceiling, and floor deformed, forming several stakes that protruded from them.

Right at that moment, several monsters had jumped toward her. Apparently the monsters didn’t stop coming out of the cracks, so they had to hurry.

Seeing Gerald had fallen, she deformed the floor beneath the boy so he could get up easily.

"Thanks," the young man thanked as he ran back toward the door.

Noelia didn’t respond. She just kept running, looking back from time to time to see if more monsters dared approach.

Meanwhile, Ariel finally reached the door, opening it and going outside suddenly.

"Finally!" she exclaimed.

They were finally out of that hallway. They had gone "into the open air," though the truth wasn’t that at all.

While they were on the deck, what they saw was much more surprising.

They were sailing in an ocean of stars, as if they were traveling in space itself.

They were surrounded by a dark blue veil full of colored stars, a scene that would have moved anyone.

If it weren’t during a chase.

Ariel froze in the middle of the door upon seeing what was outside, though she was pushed so Noelia and Gerald could exit.

"What are you doing! Get out of the way," Gerald complained as he pushed Ariel out of the way, though upon seeing what was on deck, he also froze. "Shit."

Apparently, Gerald had forgotten something important. While facing a group of monsters is harder inside than outside.

There’s a small advantage that narrow places have, or at least a rule tied to the little space in them.

And it’s that in a narrow place, there’s no possibility of encountering a large-sized opponent.

However, outside, that’s likely to happen.

"Don’t be impressed. We’ve faced more dangerous things," Noelia intervened, making her companions react.

In front of them was a giant, a golem with jet-black skin, with two large horns protruding from its head, and a mask covering its face.

It had a more intimidating appearance than the monsters that had appeared inside the hallway. However, they were heroes. It shouldn’t be so difficult to face it.

Right?
