Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Not Revealing It

Leo Grant had taken care of his affairs, rubbed his slightly swollen temples, and stood by the window for a while.

He wondered if the little girl was asleep by now.

Leo glanced at the time, it was not yet ten o’clock, the little girl had just woken up not long ago, so she probably wasn’t asleep yet, right?

He walked to Holly’s room door, knocked, but there was no response from inside at all.

"Holly, are you asleep?"

Leo asked once more, the room inside was silent, not a sound could be heard.

The little girl went to bed too early, didn’t she?

Leo called out again, but the room remained quiet.

He reached out to open the door; it wasn’t locked, and he easily pushed it open.

The room was dark; he turned on the light and saw the room was empty. The bed was neatly made, and Holly wasn’t in the room at all, while the window was open.

Leo frowned slightly, walked to the window, and gazed outside, lost in thought.

The little girl truly wasn’t simple. He wondered where she had gone to so late at night and whether she was safe by herself.

Ever since Holly appeared by his side, he knew her appearance was no coincidence, but a long-planned event.

All those times he narrowly escaped danger were actually thanks to Holly; he understood it all but pretended not to know anything.

So, who exactly was Holly?

Why did Holly show up by his side?

Leo pondered for a moment, then switched off the light, left the room, and it was as if he had never been there at all.

"Young Master, has Miss Sawyer gone to bed?"

Mrs. Hayes held a steaming bowl of dumplings, ready to deliver them to Holly, only to see Leo emerging from Holly’s room.

"Mm, she’s asleep."

Leo nodded and said.

"Oh, Miss Sawyer mentioned she wanted dumplings, so I made a bowl for her, not expecting her to sleep so early."

Mrs. Hayes said slowly.

Holly always had a good appetite, so Mrs. Hayes thought she’d bring Holly a late-night snack, not expecting Holly to sleep so early.

"Give it to me. It’s getting late, Mrs. Hayes, you should rest early."

Leo took the bowl of dumplings from Mrs. Hayes’ hands and spoke slowly.

He didn’t know when the little girl would return; he planned to bring them to her when she got back.

The little food lover would certainly want them.

——

When Holly returned to the Grant Family, it was already half-past ten, she climbed in through the window back to her room and took a deep breath.

Nothing in the room had changed; Leo probably hadn’t been here.

She changed into her pajamas, tidied herself up a bit, and then leisurely walked out.

The study light was still on, Holly guessed Leo was still working on some files.

"Brother..."

Holly reached out to knock on the door, but just as she raised her hand, the door opened, revealing Leo standing in front of her, she blinked and softly called out.

She had a sleepy look as if she had just woken up from a nap.

"Still working, huh?"

Holly blinked as she looked at Leo and asked, her voice gentle.

"Yeah, just finished."

Leo had a faint smile on his lips as he spoke slowly. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

He had been watching Holly’s room. Seeing the light turn on, he knew the little girl had returned.

He intended to wait a while before going to see her, not expecting her to come over on her own.

"Would you like some dumplings?"

Leo held the bowl of dumplings in his hands, his voice as warm and gentle as ever.

"Yes."

Holly’s eyes sparkled immediately.

Holly followed Leo into the study. She had just told Mrs. Hayes she wanted dumplings, not expecting that Mrs. Hayes would prepare them that very night.

Truly wonderful.

"Brother, didn’t you say you were done working?"

Holly ate the dumplings, while Leo kept his eyes on the computer screen, looking busy.

He seemed quite occupied, yet he had just said he was finished.

"I can handle tomorrow’s and the day after’s work altogether."

Leo looked away from the screen, regarding Holly with a gentle gaze.

Holly nodded in a daze and continued eating.

"Brother is so good to Holly."

Holly blinked and said, looking satisfied as she ate.

Leo was indeed very nice, gentle, and caring towards her, always thinking of her when it came to good food.

"Holly will be good to brother too, right?"

Leo slightly curled his lips and watched Holly as he asked, his eyes filled with tender light, and his tone was gentle.

He hoped that by being good to the little girl, she would also reciprocate in kind.

Holly nodded, "Of course."

She would certainly help Leo, so it could also mean being good to him, right?

"Holly would never do anything to wrong brother, right?"

Leo continued, and though his voice was gentle, it carried a hint of anticipation.

"Mm-hmm."

Holly nodded like a chick pecking at rice.

"Alright then, brother will remember that."

Leo said slowly.

What he meant by wronging him was Holly not being on the opposing side, not approaching him with malicious intent.

Either way, he hoped Holly bore no ill will and wasn’t sent by those people.

He just hoped Holly would always remain his little girl.

"Brother is so good, Holly’s favorite is brother."

Holly blinked and said with an innocent face.

Such acting was enough to receive an award.

Leo had saved her, given her warmth, and now he treated her so well. She had no reason to be on the opposing side.

She had always been on Leo’s side.

"Mm."

Leo smiled, gently ruffled Holly’s hair, his voice warm and gentle.

Just having the little girl say that was enough.

He hoped her words were sincere and not just perfunctory regarding his existence.

The little girl’s acting was excellent. He hadn’t noticed before, but he did now. Even though she had just returned from outside, she could act as if she had just woken up.

It was really quite convincing. If he hadn’t known better, he might have believed it.

Previously, he thought the little girl’s personality was like that—soft and gentle, with a delicate voice. Now it seemed otherwise.

The Oscars owed the little girl a golden statue.

Leo was well aware of it, but he wouldn’t expose Holly.

"Brother, have one too."

Holly picked up a dumpling with chopsticks and brought it to his lips, looking at Leo with anticipation.

Leo ate the dumpling in one bite. Anything brought to his lips by the little girl tasted good, a little sweet even.

After eating the dumplings, Holly went back to sleep. Leo watched her leave, unable to suppress the smile on his lips.

He hoped she would always be part of his life in the days to come.
