Chapter 19: Chapter 19: The Adorable and Soft Little Girl

The professor’s lectures are quite boring. Holly Sawyer was getting sleepy; she already knew all this stuff.

"Boss, are you sleepy?"

Diana Curtis looked at Holly Sawyer’s sleepy appearance and reached out to poke her.

This class was Professor Douglas’s, a history class. Professor Douglas’s lectures were famously dull but also notoriously strict. He’d fail students at the drop of a hat, so even if the students didn’t want to listen, they forced themselves to pay attention. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Didn’t sleep well last night."

Holly Sawyer propped her chin up and said lazily. She was already low on energy, and hearing Professor Douglas’s almost hypnotic lecture made her suddenly sleepy.

"But..."

"That student who’s about to fall asleep, you understand it all, do you? Stand up and answer my question now."

Diana Curtis had not finished her sentence when Professor Douglas stared at Holly Sawyer, tapping the blackboard with his ruler, speaking in a stern tone.

Holly Sawyer shook her head and stood up slowly, her eyes filled with confusion, giving off an impression of sleepy cuteness.

Diana Curtis: "..."

She looked at Holly Sawyer’s current appearance, and her mouth involuntarily twitched for a moment. Holly was changing roles incredibly fast.

Everyone at The Pantheon knew Holly Sawyer was cold and ruthless, making decisions decisively. But in the eyes of outsiders, Holly Sawyer was just a soft and cute little bunny, adorably innocent.

Professor Douglas looked at Holly Sawyer’s innocent and confused eyes, and his anger dissipated by half, "Student, you seem quite unfamiliar. Are you new here?"

Professor Douglas couldn’t remember all his students’ names, but he was familiar with their faces. He was sure he hadn’t seen Holly Sawyer before.

In Professor Douglas’s class, no one dared to skip class, and no one dared to help with attendance because Professor Douglas could easily identify people with his keen skills.

"Hello, Professor. I just transferred here, and your class is my first at this school. I wanted to listen carefully, but I just arrived this afternoon, haven’t had a chance to rest, and came straight here from the airport."

Holly Sawyer tightly bit her lip, lowered her head slightly, and appeared pitiful and vulnerable, evoking sympathy.

Some students started whispering, but restrained by Professor Douglas’s presence, none dared speak aloud.

"It won’t happen again. Sit down."

Professor Douglas nodded and kindly let Holly Sawyer sit down.

"Thank you, Professor."

Holly Sawyer raised her head in surprise, her eyes seemingly holding stars.

She obediently sat down, then focused her gaze, appearing to be listening to the lecture attentively.

Diana Curtis: "..."

Indeed, Holly Sawyer’s appearance was most deceiving.

Professor Douglas continued his lecture, looking at Holly’s timid and pure appearance, and couldn’t bear to punish her.

The girl’s appearance was gentle and fragile.

The class time quickly passed, and after Professor Douglas left the classroom with his textbook, the place became lively.

"Wow, it’s the first time Professor Douglas let a sleepy student off."

"This new girl is too cute."

"Classmate, can I add you on WeChat?"

"Classmate, I’m called xxx, what’s your name?"

"Classmate, you’re really adorable."

"Classmate, you’re the first student Professor Douglas let off."

"..."

Soon, a group of people gathered around Holly Sawyer, chatting relentlessly, expressing their curiosity about her.

Holly Sawyer looked like a doll, exceptionally cute, and being the first student Professor Douglas let go intrigued them greatly.

Holly Sawyer looked timidly at the classmates surrounding her, lightly biting her lip, instinctively shrinking her body, portraying an aura of fear.

She leaned towards Diana Curtis, her eyes showing innocence, fear, and timidity.

Diana Curtis: "..."

Absolutely, those eyes deserved an Oscar.

"Hey, hey, hey, you scared her."

Diana Curtis quickly said, standing in front of Holly Sawyer.

"Can you... let me out?"

Holly Sawyer timidly hid behind Diana Curtis, lightly biting her lip, nervously asking.

Her face showed fear and fright, seemingly truly scared.

"Haha, let’s go, class is over."

"Feels like we’re vicious villains scaring this student."

"Come on, let’s go."

"Sorry, classmate."

"..."

Gradually, the classroom students dispersed, considering Holly Sawyer’s timid nature and that they had scared her.

"Boss, I think the Oscars owe you a little golden statue."

Diana Curtis watched the students slowly leaving and whispered to Holly Sawyer.

No matter Holly Sawyer’s personality, her kindness was genuine, and Diana Curtis greatly admired her.

"Don’t mention it, I’m actually a bit sleepy."

Holly Sawyer yawned, patting Diana Curtis’s head gently, speaking softly.

Professor Douglas’s lectures indeed had a hypnotic effect.

"Boss, are you planning to go home to sleep?"

Diana Curtis followed Holly Sawyer out of the classroom and asked.

Holly Sawyer came to Bexley because of Leo Grant; everyone in The Pantheon knew about this.

"Yeah, Leo Grant is coming to pick me up."

Holly Sawyer lowered her head to text Leo Grant, responding indifferently.

Diana Curtis: "..."

She felt something was off but couldn’t pinpoint exactly what; just that it seemed peculiar.

Though she was from The Pantheon, she always lived in Bexley and somewhat understood Leo Grant.

Leo Grant had come to Bexley starting from scratch, never heard to treat any woman differently.

Even his only girlfriend, Rosalie Jennings, was treated no differently than a stranger by him. Though a girlfriend, she didn’t resemble one.

"Where are you headed next?"

Holly Sawyer pocketed her phone, turned to look at Diana Curtis and asked.

Diana Curtis had been following her since they left the classroom.

"Oh, my friend is waiting for me at the snack street opposite."

Diana Curtis blinked; as they neared the school gate, she spoke slowly.

Opposite the school was a snack street, usually bustling with people and filled with food options, popular among students.

"Mm, then I’ll be off."

Holly Sawyer waved to Diana Curtis and walked towards Leo Grant.

Leo Grant had arrived at the school gate long ago, waiting for Holly Sawyer to come out.

And Diana Curtis watched Holly Sawyer run sweetly towards Leo Grant, calling out "Brother," her voice sugary to the bone.

She also saw Holly Sawyer gesturing animatedly and lively to Leo Grant.

Diana Curtis shook her head, assuring herself it wasn’t real, and quickly passed Leo Grant and Holly Sawyer to the snack street opposite.
